This is a review in regards to our Uhaul experience that went terribly wrong. First and foremost, Uhaul is the main issue here but the lack of efficient follow through by the office staff here at Cruise America (specifically Diego) is why I am writing this Yelp review. We were delayed two hours due to Uhaul's incompetent follow through. We will start with where we are now which is sitting in the parking lot in our car because Diego failed to contact Uhaul and even ATTEMPT TO TRY to help us. Diego, usually when there are individuals sent to your location with a credit from Uhaul, it is 99.9% of the time an escalated issue which Uhaul found as THEIR fault and you telling the customer that their Uhaul order will now be MORE than their original invoice total and you're "not able to do anything about it", was there wrong way to handle a first time customer. You should probably inquire with Uhaul prior to telling a customer you can't even help them. You never even offered to call Uhaul customer service or ask why the credit was issued to us to begin with. Once this back story is explained to you in depth, you're going to understand why I wrote this review. Shame on you. read more

Don't rent from Cruise America. They charge you outrageous fees for every little thing. We made sure to clean the entire RV before returning it, and they charged us $100 housekeeping fee because they found a couple strands of dog hair. Unbelievable. Reserving the Cruise America RV from the Victoria Rv storage in Rancho Cucamonga via online was very user friendly. The RV itself and the in-person rental experience was lacking. I don't fault the salesperson for his dry tone - some people are not naturally personable. The RV #305767 was a bit rundown and had considerable exterior damage. The upper right corner of the back was patched with duct tape, the windshield had a large crack on the driver side, cracked front grill as well as interior issues - privacy curtains held up with zip ties or missing all together, ripped seat cushions, etc. Mechanically, there were no issues. My main issue is, I cleaned the RV for 3 hours the morning of returning the unit. I used mr. Clean erasers in the shower/bathroom, pledge on all wood cabinetry, windex on all glass surfaces, swept twice and finalized with a leaf blower to ensure that all crevices were clean. For reference: We used the rv to camp in Utah on a paved RV lot. Diego still charged us a $50 cleaning fee. I called to question the charge and he stated "he still has to sanitize the unit" and that he believed we signed a waiver... after checking- I called back and informed him we signed a contract stating a cleaning fee would be charged ONLY if we returned the unit unclean. He then stated we left grease behind the stove (we did not use the stove once) or prepare food in the kitchen - we took a Blackstone griddle and Traeger smoker as well as 2 folding tables. He also stated there was dirt on everything and that he had to sweep. As well as clean the shower. These were all cleaner upon return than when we had received it. I just came back from my recent road trip on 11/14-19 which I reserved a vehicle from this location. Adam was my representative that assisted me through out the entire process and answered all my additional questions and concerns . I appreciate his patience and professionalism. I ended up reserving the Large Rv which sleeps 7-8ppl comfortably. It does come equipped with kitchen,3 burners , a microwave, sink , fridge , with a toilet & showers and nook and adjacent seating area that pulls out to a twin/full almost . I absolutely loved this moving RV camper it was spacious enough & had all the amenities I needed for my camping road trip. My overall experience was nothing but pleasant with this vehicle a smooth ride and the comfort of a home away from home. I do highly , suggest ppl do browse the many RV options that accommodates your next trip you will not regret it ! Please ask for Adam he will take care of you . I wanted to express my concern as a first time renter from your company. I tried speaking to a woman on the phone, she did not listen, and was quite rude and short with me. Then I went online to send my concern and I kept getting it could not send. Super frustrating! This concerns my rental confirmation number 190535 When I went to rent the RV it said no where in the terms and agreements that the rental that rates were subject to change before clicking the Submit Reservation button. It is not clear at all. I feel like this is very deceitful and that Cruise America is trying to scam/con their customers out of money. Not very customer friendly. Then when I called to change my reservation, two weeks ahead of time, the woman on the phone tells me that the four dates I had already booked at one rate would increase in price (25% more) if I added more days to the reservation. The woman on the phone was very rude and could not help me. She proceeded to tell me that there was an event going on that weekend and that is what is causing the price increase, but I already had the weekend reserved, so how would that change the price. I completely understand that the added nights would possibly be at a different price. but for my current nights to change is not acceptable. This does not happen at hotels. I'm not adding more mileage, I am headed to the same place just earlier. The days I had booked at the lower price was the weekend, prime time travel. The price is four times more, and I am adding 3 weekdays to a 4 day weekend reservation. I am very unsatisfied and do not think I will rent or recommend Cruise America with this policy and poor customer service. -- read more

We came in on a Sunday to return our RV and the first thing the representative said to us was, "You guys know we're closed, right?". Obviously, we didn't know that and it was our mistake so we didn't make a big deal out of it, despite how we were addressed. She was extremely rude and short with us. The r.v itself is great could use a minor upgrades to things but not a big deal what my issue is the rep at the rancho cucamonga location..diego is his name this guy is rude has no customer service skills and simply needs to be removed from this location and maybe they will see more reservations..he needs to learn to respect people who spend there hard earned money on these r.vs he is probaly stoned the whole shift cause he smelt like it and had his shades on a cloudy day..cruise america please investigate this guy.. read more

The staff and everything here are nice and well trained and seemed super bored. I felt bad for them. They guessed that it may be the season or the gas hikes inflation preventing the RVs from being rented. It was a totally full lot with only me renting and returning! Indeed it is expensive! What you really need to know is that its not any cheaper renting VS staying in 5 star hotel with an escalade too boot when you take everything into consideration on planning your trip. Plan on spending on average depending on how you travel about 500/600 a day. That's RV, GAS (can ave about 150-200 a day easy!) RV site all the incidentals and everything. Now all that's just fine and dandy but you need to take a deep breath when you pull the trigger on these things. Its a lot to kind of manage. If you have a co pilot that is REALLY gonna help you change the poo hose and plug it in and all that on and on. WELLIts gonna help with your decision here. If just YOU micro managing the whole lot with people waiting on you and stuff.. IT on the needs DONT DO IT! This is well suited for a big family, pets and the whole posse. The bigger one is nicer but cost more in gas than the smaller which are more expensive. You probably end up paying the same. Pros: The shower works great, the videos are super helpful. When you are at a RV site you can just plug the AC in and all the appliances work great. Its all relatively comfy inside. Cons: This thing is LOUD even at 60MPHOUR. Its pushing a brick through the wind folks. My ears are still ringing from my trip. You will have to shout to talk. It rattles and vibrates BIGTIME. You will be a little numb after a trip. I can't say i would rent again. its just too expensive and SO LOUD. However, this thing would ROCK at an all day festival type deal. Now THAT might where this thing shines or convention or something where you don't drive far. Get 5 peeps to chip in and go to that all dayer in style! read more

My family planned a quick, very last minute little getaway for the weekend and were lucky enough to find an available RV to rent at Cruise America. It was a pretty quick checkout and the representative over the phone was very helpful. We were first time renters and did not know what to expect. When we showed up to pickup the RV, the person who assisted us was helpful, friendly and had us on our way in only a few minutes. The RV was very clean and the perfect size for us. I would definitely recommend Cruise America. They had reasonable pricing and promotions going on. We had a fun weekend trip. read more

The people were nice, check in was easy. Some things were not full when I picked up like gas and water. My husband had to add oil in the engine. Half way through the trip we noticed the tags were expired so we worried about getting pulled over. No registration in rv. No other problems with the rv. The representatives were friendly & helpful on the phone and in person. They even allowed us to pick up the RV much earlier than what is mentioned on the website. The RV, however, was not in the best shape. Some drawers would not stay shut and they had to screw back the curtains in two separate places which delayed our departure. Also, the water and propane tank was not full. Thankfully the representative filled the water for us and we filled the propane back to full capacity ourselves. We were not refunded for the extra propane we gave it back with. The grey water tank filled unusually fast, but that could have been a meter issue or us not being level. However, our black water filled first, despite us not using it at all and making sure to keep the water pump off. When it came time to dump the water it was clear that the black water pump had not been emptied. Thankfully the experience was not that unpleasant, more frustrating. All in all, these were only minor inconveniences and using the RV was fun and comfortable. The RV takes a bit of a learning curve to drive, but overall drove well. I would rent from the again, but next time be more aware of black/grey water tanks before departure. read more

Very disappointed doing my first RV rental. I thought renting an RV with Cruise America will be a good experience and an affordable one but they have hidden charges I got so frustrated about that I swore NOT TO DO THIS AGAIN! I was a few minutes late in returning the RV because I had to find a propane refill station. They charged me a full hour late fee. I was expecting I picked it up before 12 noon, I can return it before 12 noon. It was never mentioned when I picked it up that I have to return it before the time mentioned in the email otherwise there is a late fee charged "per hour". On top of that, they charged me additional day insurance since I purchased their insurance for the days I rented it. I never expected that the RV is not as clean as I wanted it to be, just like when I returned it. When I mentioned that to the staff when I picked it up, he said "Lady, this is a rental you cannot expect it to be very clean and I'm the only one working here". I was speechless I cannot do anything, I can't even choose an RV from the many RVs in the lot. I had to clean it before we used it. And when I returned the RV, the staff got frustrated with me for questioning the charges. Apparently he has no control because the charges are computer generated when they input numbers. Do you believe that! I called the main company to complain but I was told to do it by email and they will respond in 7-14 days. Unbelievable! read more

The RV we rented and were assured functioned correctly was actually unusable for any water functions. When the water was connected and pump turned on it leaked through the entire RV. We called there Travelers Assistance and they said they would find someone to come out the next day. They next day they called and said we have to drive and hour away to have it repaired (during our much anticipated and only summer vacation). Long post but if safety is your concern read my entire review and chack out my pictures. Be careful putting your families in a cruise america vehicle. Rented a RV and this was my first time. I told Diego that right at the beginning of the walk through. He did such a basic job explaining. He said the interior had normal wear and tear. Melted vent and microwave is normal. When you walked by the sink you suck down felt Luke you would fall through. (did not step in that area until I got to my destination). As far as cleanliness you can see the bleached out stained shower curtain. When I did the walk through it was tucked away so the nasty parts were hidden. NASTY! Something fell on the floor and you can see by the paper towel in the picture how well they clean their units. On top of all of that when we got to our location my son went to use the toilet. Well what he saw was disgusting. Someone else poop smeared all over. Nice cleaning someone else's poop. We were boondocking which was mentioned to Diego during the walk through. The grey and black tank read full the entire time so, the sensors were not working. When I turned the generator on and wanted to use the outlets. I had to reset the breaker every single time. When I was ready to fuel up to return the RV. I had to fill to the 3/4 line. I would check to see where the level was as so I did not go over. Well the needle was broken and they ended up getting a full tank on me. Now for the last but the most shocking issue. We arrived at the location we noticed light coming in through a gap. Well the wall was broken away from the floor. You can see broken bolts and black stuff maybe them trying to cover up the problem. I could see the dirt ground through the gap. We could even see the white lines in the highway on the way home. I put myself and my two kids in this death trap. While driving to our location anytime we hit a bump this weird metal slamming sound would happen. Then my son felt something land on his head while sitting in the passenger seat. We stopped and looked and could not find anything. We heard a weird crackle sound pulled over again and one if the small windows in the overhead sleeping area shattered. We had glass everywhere. I tried calling the location and no one picked up. I called assistance sent pictures and they offered for me to drive 2 hours to swap the vehicles or wait until the day I was returning the RV to have someone come to me to repair the gap. When I finally returned the RV Diego the manager had nothing to say for anything. He said his regional manager says its OK to have vehicles like this on the road and that the gap is safe. SAFE!!! He even admitted to other RV's being in worse condition. One unit has L brackets holding the RV together. He admitted all of this to me. I asked for his boss's info and he said he was not allowed to provide any info. I had to call the 800#. I called the 800# and was told to send an email to customer relations and they MAY investigate. Well I sent the email 10 days ago and I have received no contact. I have called the 800# and reservation refuses to transfer me to anyone that could help me out. This company is a joke and are risking people's lives everyday. Someone is going to get hurt or worse with one of these cruise america RV's. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!Spend a little more money and go else where. read more

The equipment they have is run down very damaged inside and out with high mileage The alignment on the vehicle was out pulling bad to the right also the vehicle was leaning very bad to the left I had to start my unit a couple times because the battery drained.. when I went to pick up the unit the young lady that rented it to was rude and didn't explain the vehicle properly to me.. read more

First time renting was October 2020 we rented an RV form the Rancho Cucamonga location. They told us that the RV had a minor water leak from the kitchen sink. I asked if the water would last us 4 days the man said yes. Got home filled up the tank and it didnt even make it out the driveway with water. We had to go to the local gas station to shower. We also noticed that the rear running lights did not work. This happened all before we left on our trip. We called the place up in Rancho the man said to change out the fuse, we did and the lights still didnt work. The restroom smelled once we started to drive. We had no choice but to continue on our trip with a smelly, no working rear lights & no water RV. 2nd time renting one was from the same location for new years 2021 the shower and sink were clogged up. We had to go to the local gas station again and spend more money to shower. Im not to sure if all of the Cruise America are like this but beware of the one in Rancho Cucamonga. Dont get me started on all the hidden fees like generator usage which are astronomical. You would think thats the least they could complement you on since all the troubles we had both times. Everyone at cruise America gets an A+ in customer service. They took care of us so well. We got 2 flats out in the middle of no where, had no reception to call anyone. Managed to walk a little ways and get enough reception to call there service line. Alyssa was able to help me via text when she realized how bad my reception was. AVOID RANCHO CUCAMONGA LOCATION. I've rented Cruise America at a different location before and I know it's not how it's supposed to be. It was so dirty. The toilet room stinks and the shower was so smelly I used the community shower instead. The small refridgerator was dirty and still had rotten eggs left in it. Also, they didn't even full up the propane tank. It was only 1/4 of tank left. When we returned it, we told them it was dirty. Their response was "besides that, who how was it." So they don't actually clean their RV. read more

Gosh, where do I start? I called repeatedly in the 3 days leading up to our departure and left messages, but never got a call back. When we arrived Saturday there was nobody in the office. We called the number on the door and eventually the guy working that day showed up. However, he had no idea we were coming and didn't even normally handle Cruise America rentals. He claimed that everything was all filled up on the vehicle, but it was totally empty of propane and water and had only 1/3 tank of gas - and the "check engine" light was on. He said the light wasn't a problem, just something about a loose gas cap. He also said that the "check" light on the fridge (indicating the propane was gone) was fine; it was only the next day when the fridge was *warm* and half of our food was bad that we realized the problem. We had ordered a kitchen kit but he didn't have one; he scraped together some weird conglomeration of things that involved no plates, two tea kettles, no glasses, only 4 mugs - not a typical kitchen kit! All of this made our trip MUCH more difficult. This was our first time renting from Cruise America but I won't be making that mistake again. read more

I rented an RV from this place and during my inspection I notice the driver front tire had steel cords coming out of it. I was told that it was my responsibility to get it replaced since I already signed for it. On my trip the RV vibrated violently above 55 mph. Upon arrival to my destination I found the passenger front tire separated and had a huge bulge in the tread. On my way home on of the rear dually tires separated and then blew out. The whole time these events were taking place I was in contact with the rental place. I was reassured every time that I would be compensated and taken care of for everything. When I returned the RV the manager was nice enough to give me a $300 discount. After looking closer at my bill I noticed that there was a $300 additional charge before the credit. I called the manager to discuss the discrepancy. He ended up telling me that he didn't have time to deal with me and that I would have to call the 800 number on the receipt. Still waiting to hear back from corporate. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

So after renting RV's from Cruise America for many years they have gone done in service year over year. Very disappointing. My last time was awful. The RV was not clean. The refrigerator smelled like fish and when I mentioned it they just spayed chemicals into it which should not be near food so my wife would not use it causing a lot of out food to go bad since the ice in our cooler melted. The Check Engine light was on and and the RV was not running well which caused me not to use it the entire trip. The worst part was we could not get anyone on the phone. I must have called 6 times. Finally when I did get someone on the phone they said they were the wrong department and I would have to call back another time. I tried email several times and still a week later have not heard back from them. All in all I think you should try another company who cares about their customers. read more
