Thankfully, the barista was helpful and offered to make me something based on my preferences. I told her I liked my coffee strong and plain--no sweet flavors or extras. She ended up making me an iced coffee with a bit of simple syrup. It was great. The flavor was rich, the coffee was perfectly balanced, and the color told me everything I needed to know. I am not someone who likes a cup of creamer with a splash of coffee, so I was happy with how it turned out. I gave this place four stars. The only reason I didn't give five is the menu setup. The bar wasn't busy, not even 10 people with two bartenders sitting at the bar (and we were four of the 10); so they cannot claim that they were overrun with customers! Neither offered an apology nor any acknowledgment of their error/oversight! Hence, our "RED FLAG" was alerted because in ANY establishment, isn't it the job of a BARTENDER/SERVER to KNOW if a bill has been paid, and if they honestly didn't, shouldn't they acknowledge with an apology rather than simply "oh".
