My husband I were visiting (from the west coast) my best friend after having recently moved to Cape Coral. She brought us here for dinner one night. Upon walking up to the host stand, we were told it would be maybe 15 minutes, so we waited at the bar. He seemed very sweet and helpful. This is where we noticed that there may be a short staff issue, because it took a bit for us to get our drinks in with the bartender. She was not at fault, she had a very busy bar outside AND inside that she was handling on her own. She was very nice and got our drink orders eventually, but by the time she came with them, our table was ready. We got seated inside and we were greeted by our server pretty quickly, but that was probably the fastest time she took to get back to us on anything throughout our meal. But again, it wasn't her, it just seemed like either a bunch of people called out that day or it's just short staffed, because it was all hands on deck! Which I appreciated it. Everyone really did seem like they were working hard and helping each other. Even the host was running food! They had someone playing live music inside, but it was a bit strange because if you're sitting in the dining room, you couldn't see him, but you could hear him. The decor was pretty and clean. Couldn't really figure out what type of vibe they were going for but it was still cute! Food: For apps, we ordered the Fried Burrata and Street Corn Deviled Eggs! Both were delicious! I love deviled eggs and these were fantastic! My friend's boyfriend got some wings, I got the cajun shrimp risotta and my husband got the philly short rib nachos. This place was ok. Nice atmosphere and the menu choices all sound yummy. We were within happy hour and enjoyed three cocktails. We ordered from the regular menu and every single dish was bland. A dash of salt would've done wonders. The service was great and we got our food within reasonable time. We like trying new places to bring our visiting family and friends. If you're looking for an amazing brunch spot, be sure to visit Front Porch Social in Cape Coral! I'm always on the hunt for good brunch spots and this one get 10 out 10 every time we visit. It is located right off of Cape Coral pkwy 5 shortly after you cross the bridge so it's a quick ride from Fort Myers. The vibe is awesome - from the second you walk in. You'll feel like you're having brunch in Williamsburg or Park Slope areas of NYC. The staff is phenomenal! They're always so warm, welcoming and courteous. The food is always fresh and dishes are creative offering a dish for every pallet and appetite. The cocktails is one of the main reasons to visit this place! The creativity of mixes and quality of ingredients used is off the charts. I don't even know how they come up with some of the combinations but WOW! One thing to note - parking can be a bit tricky. Consistently delicious and the service is always friendly. Wonderful atmosphere on the main drag of Cape Coral. So many other places are over populated by the tourist this tends to be a little more of a local place. You're after a year we spend our Christmas holiday here for a white elephant exchange and it's always fabulous. 27 January 2024 A friend and I enjoyed dinner at the Front Porch Social last night arriving around Sunset , a little after 6:00 pm. Finding parking was a nightmare because everyone down here arrives around 5-5:30 pm. But we finally found a spot. We were quickly seated at a "High Top" table and presented with menus. Peter , our server , was quick and efficient. We placed our orders and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. My friend ordered the ( two ) Chimichurri tacos. I had the Wagyu cheese burger. We both enjoyed our food while our server refilled Our beverages when the need was apparent. We opted to dine inside and found that the ambiance was appealing and to our liking. It made for a comfortable dining experience. The service , ambience, and food generated at least 4 stars for now. ( lost a star due to lack of abundant parking in an area crowded with restaurants). Very disappointing. Went there with 3 companions tonight. One of us ordered the mushroom soup. They brought out onion soup. When we told them he ordered mushroom, they said sorry, that was yesterday. Today it's onion. He ended up eating it, but it looked like something thrown together at the last minute. It had Swiss cheese on top that wasn't melted at all. To put it bluntly, it was poor. I ordered the NY strip Stoganoff. Asked for it medium well. Not even close. It was well. Very well. Not a hint of pink. It did taste OK, but I wanted medium. The other meals were OK. Not great. Stopped in on a Friday night and waited 45 minutes to be seated, which I really don't mind - this place is hip and new and I fully expect it to be busy! The service was excellent from the time we walked in to the time we left, checking in often. Even our fabulous hostess, Sam, stopped by once or twice on her way past to make sure we weren't waiting on anything. Our server, Stephen, was so friendly and helpful with any menu questions. My cocktail was great; I tried the Bird House, which came in a very Jungle Bird tiki mug - the cocktail felt straight out of JB. My only real disappointment was in the food itself. Nothing was *bad*, it just wasn't quite what I would have liked for the price point. We had a spinach artichoke dip to start. Tasty, but heavy on the cream cheese; if you like a cheesy dip, this is for you (I do, so I wasn't mad). It was also a bit burnt on the top, and the few tastes of burnt dip threw it off. We also split the chimichurri steak tacos. Everything was seasoned pretty well, but my husband and I both felt the steak was a little overdone (well-done... could have stood to be medium well) and thus a little dry. I might have liked a little more filling to go on them besides just a lot of cheese and peppers. Politely asked the bartender for my check as my server was clearly tied up somewhere since we were waiting 15 minutes for our bill and she couldn't be more disgustingly nasty to me because she was "DOING SOMETHING" (stuffing olives) and "DIDNT HAVE OUR CHECK" ... taking it out on a customer because you had a slow night?!?!!
