Custard Cream mini cupcake, Red Velvet cupcake, Biscof cookie
    Carissa C.

I love Cupcake Jemma so I was excited to visit here! It was super crowded on a sunny Sunday afternoon, but the line moved quickly. We got the custard cream mini cupcake, red velvet mini cupcake, and one of their giant biscoff cookie. Everything was delicious! The cupcakes were the perfect mini size, was moist, and wasn't overly sweet. The star of the show, however, was the biscoff cookie! I loved how Biscoff-y it was and on the bottom was a thick layer of biscoff spread. OMG I'm still dreaming of this.

Cute dessert shop nestled away in Carnaby market! Her cupcakes and flavors are delicious, and she also offers an array of spectacularly decorated cakes, as well as brownies and tray bakes! I had the Cookie Dough cupcake which was a delicious brown butter cupcake with a cookie base, and cookie dough on top. I thought the buttercream was a tad too sweet, but other then that, the taste was delicious. Jemma also does many YouTube tutorials on her recipes, as well as tips and tricks if you're a home baker.

Very cool Cupcake spot. I went here for Halloween therefore all they Cupcakes had this theme. The one that I had with cookies was good although the frosting was a little bit too sugary. Staff is nice and friendly.

3.5 out 5 Stars This was a must stop after stalking C&D on Instagram and Twitter for months in advance. The store is super cute but a little difficult to find (head to the courtyard area, don't put the street address into GPS). We tried the Key Lime cupcakes and took a piece of the Raspberry Bombe cake. Both were good, but for some reason were not what we had in mind. The cake was more of a sponge and less of the moist type of cake we were expecting, though the raspberry filling was divine. The frosting on both items was a little sickly sweet and could have done with some flavoring or more or a buttercream style texture. In retrospect I wish we had gotten the delicious cookie bar instead of the cupcake. Overall definitely worth it if you are in the neighborhood, but don't know if I would trek across town for them :( Maybe we went on an off day? Also the service was not super friendly and I don't think they shared our excitement about being there which was a bummer.

I am a home baker. Since moving to UK have become a HUGE fan of Cupcake Jemma on YouTube and had to visit her cupcake shop in Soho when it opened. Cute little with a monthwatering display. Options to eat in at the limited seating or takeaway. Highly recommend getting a deal with a multi box so you can try more then one flavour. There cupcake flavours change every day so I gotta try them all. I personally find he the cakes better the cheesecakes and slices. My last visit I had the biscoff (my favourite flavour) cheesecake and found it dry and tasteless.

Holy freaking crap. Can these little baby cupcakes get any cuter? The answer is no, because it's not possible. But they can't possibly taste that good... right? OH MY GOSH THEY DO. They're adorable AND delicious! I was looking for a cute little thing to give my co-workers and mini cupcakes were a huge win because they're not toooo big and they're small enough for just about everyone (including people on diets) to have a little taste. I went online and the ordering process was simple and fabulous- it's also insane how custom you can make these little babies- custom sprinkles? Personal logo on each one? Amazing. I just wanted a variety and they gave me just that! Thanks crumbs and dollies- you're the best.

Mojito, Malteser and Raspberry Ripple mini cupcakes

I love Cupcake Jemma's youtube channel so I was really excited to finally visit Crumbs & Doilies. However, I was a bit disappointed. The cupcakes were overly sweet, masking any flavor. Neither the Mojito nor the Raspberry Ripple tasted of anything other than sugar. The Malteser had a more distinctive flavor but was still way too sweet. The cupcakes were definitely well-made, with good texture and pretty decorations. If it weren't for the sweetness I'm sure they would have been great!

I've heard a rumor that Yelp might offer a 6th star eventually, and when that day comes, this is where I'd award it. Crumbs and Doilies is a super adorable cupcakery tucked away in one of the throughways of Kingly Court, Soho, and to date, is my absolute favorite cake shop--and I've been to many many. They have perfected their cupcake presentation (set up in glass cases as if it were a jewelry store), and where most bakeries overlook the art of the mini cupcake, this place seems to take even more care in decorating them with a perfect frosting swirl, edible glitter sparkles, light dustings of other toppings like coconut, sprinkles, fondant shapes, matcha crunchies, candied fruit, and holiday-specific toppings as well (the Pride rainbow displays were particularly impressive, they not only did a daily cake slice that was rainbow in layers, but they also had rainbow cupcakes, rainbow meringue cookies--referred to as "unicorn drops," and rainbow blondie brownies). The cake is superior to any other cake shop I've experienced, it's moist without being soggy or wet, and substantial without being dense, crumbly, or too bread-y in consistency. The frosting isn't disgustingly sweet nor overdone. Everything about their cakes are balanced, beautiful, and offered at a great price point for the quality, presentation, as well as location--in the heart of Soho, Kingly Court, one would assume they could charge one and a half to two times the price they charge here (minis run about £1.45-£1.65, regular cupcakes about £3.50, and a slice of the daily cake about £3.75-£4). Best. Cake. Frosting. Ever. Skip dinner and go here. Heck, "have cake for breakfast."

Simply amazing! This bakery is right up my street! Lots of creative items that you struggle to chose which one to take home! I loved it and I know it will be somewhere that I revisit over and over again. On this visit I went for a jammy dodger brownie/blondie type cake (I can't remember the exact name). It was delicious and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth craving. The slices of cake they sell are HUGE, you'd have to eat in it multiple sittings. My friend picked up a cupcake and loved it. There is not much room to eat in, we took our cakes out into Kingsley Court and found a seat and ate there. They package the cakes up in cute little boxes so it will travel well if you don't want to eat it straight away.

Yes baby, if it's cakes you're looking for, this my is the place! The cakes are baked made upstairs, which wins extra bonus points from me and damn are they delicious! The Oreo cookies and cream cake was a stand out for me, not the cheapest, if i remember rightly, maybe £4 or £5 pounds, but damn was it good. To be fair though everything I've tried from there is amazing, so whatever you ordered you can't go wrong!! The disappointing thing is the seating and rather the lack of it. It's very cramped if you choose to sit down and there's no wifi. Don't let that put you off though, get takeaway to eat when you're home.

A dream come true in London. Well worth the trip. Cupcake Jemma was gracious enough to record a nice video for my granddaughters who adore her on YouTube. We enjoyed the PBJs, Sticky Toffee and washed it down with traditional English tea.

Normally I wouldn't have gotten the chocolate one (it had mini chocolate chips) just because I didn't think the texture you work well, but because it is a chocolatier it made sense to at least try it. Ultimately, I do think the caramel and framboise options were the winners. They were delicious and moist and just beautiful. Don't get me wrong: I would never turn down the chocolate one, but when I go back I'll be going for the options (and possibly trying new ones).

The quality of the ingredients and chocolate are exquisite, but the downside (where I took off a star) is that they are on the small side and they are expensive at £5 each. They also sell a variety of chocolates (9 piece boxes, 16 piece boxes, beautiful heart chocolates, or by the unit. You can buy macarons in traditional flavors but my favorite macaron place in the world is Pierre Herme and they have more unique flavors there. We tried the chocolate eclair and the hazelnut one. Neither was overly sweet - it was just right. The texture of the cream was perfect too - it was airy, light, tasted fresh and not artificial, and was not too sweet. The bread part at the bottom was firm - not too hard, not too soft, and not spongy. The chocolate one had a raspberry/chocolate topping with gold flakes and it was just perfect. The hazelnut one was really unique, as I had never had a hazelnut eclair before but I love hazelnut anything. There were little pieces of actual hazelnut, the hazelnut cream was perfect and not artificial-tasting, and there was this powdered sugar crunchy thing on top. The hazelnut was a bit messy to eat/share, since the topping part was harder to break apart, but every bite was amazing. I'd definitely come back here again to eat eclairs. Note that if you want to eat here, they don't really have spoons suitable for eating/sharing - it's more like a small spoon to stir coffee. There's one table outside where you can sit and eat, but there's no seating inside, so don't expect a place where you can hang out and drink tea/coffee and eat your eclair. The eclairs here are fantastic, we came at the end of the day so they didn't have many flavours left, but they typically also have vanilla, salted caramel, and I'm sure a few others that escape my memory (I asked one of the staff what other flavours they typically have). I've overused the word "perfect" in this review, so just go here and eat some eclairs and maybe some chocolates too. I had a praline little egg and it was fantastic, but the eclairs were like nothing I'd ever have. Minus one star for the price, but I guess it's relatively cheap next to all the other expensive stores in Marylebone. Worth the splurge every once in a while and I'll definitely be back.

Marchesi wasn't on the list but on my two visits to Marchesi I couldn't help imagining her here either closing down the place with her entourage or queueing at the counter in dark sunglasses, waiting to order a pastry to-go. Being owned by Prada, this staple of Milan is the first outpost outside of Italy. As one would expect from both Italy and a house of fashion, the place is a design home-run. It's difficult, in fact, to walk by without declaring a desire to stop in as it looks utterly charming. Servers in green uniforms with crisp white aprons add to the charm and order of the place. But what's that phrase? All hat, no cattle. All foam, no beer. You get it. On my first visit here I ordered a croissant and a latte (£7) at the counter and enjoyed them from a bench in nearby Berkeley Square. But to take in the entirety of the Marchesi experience my next visit demanded I get a table inside and from this vantage point I had a more difficult time rationalizing the cost. The server was cold in demeanor, the croissant (£4.70) tasted less than fresh, and I couldn't rationalize the additional price (including 12.5% service charge) I was paying for such an experience. So I preferred Marchesi as a take-out spot. Still, if you want to imagine you're Beyonce in Mayfair, probably best to enjoy at least one morning from a table inside this highly stylish spot.
