Staff doesn't even speak English and he hung the phone up on me. He refused two enrolled gym members services there on Sunday august 26th 4:00 pm. I was calling to speak to a manager multiple times and multiple times I was hung up on. It's gotten better over the past few months but still isn't great. I've seen a tremendous increase in female staff here and a huge decrease in disruptive male staff and members. If a patron, usually male, is throwing weights aggressively (i.e. almost hitting others) or disturbing other customers the staff WILL address it, which did not happen before. I will say that a large number of teenagers here are creepy: they are misusing equipment, loud, interrupt other's workouts, and just watch others in the gym very intensely. However, male personal trainers are the most frustrating. They are constantly asking members to move out of their way (even when just walking around the gym), get off machines, and/or stop THEIR workouts to make room for the trainer. If someone is using a machine, you can't make them move. It's in the member terms and conditions. Female trainers don't cause this issue, but male trainers do. read more

This is a great neighborhood gym. It has been opened about a year or so. There are different rates for different amenities. This Crunch has plenty of nice equipment, both cardio and weights. There are also many different types of classes if you sign up for that option. The locker room has lots of space with showers and changing areas. It is kept very clean and sparkling. There is personal training available as well as hydomassage and tanning. There is a large parking lot and I have never had any problem getting a good spot. The evening hours seem to be the busiest, as is the case with most gyms, but there is always equipment and/or classes available. read more

I cancelled my membership here in 2021 by filling out the paper request in the gym, but Crunch never filed the paperwork (not the first time this happened to me, it happened at other crunch locations as well). In 2023 my membership was reported to collections for "non-payment" and when I called crunch to discuss it with the manager Erika, I was told "we don't have record of a cancellation" and that it was my problem and I had to pay the fee to get it off my record (clearly they don't know how collections works). When I asked for the owners number, a male staff member jumped on the phone, refused to tell me his name and position with the gym, got nasty with me, and said "you've monopolized too much of our time" and hung up on me. I proceeded to call back 3 times and got hung up on immediately each time until "Stacy" answered and walked me through what else I needed to do. This gym (outside of Stacy) has the most unprofessional, unintelligent, and down right nasty staff members working for them. It's a decent gym. Definitely need to address a dress code with the amount of kids especially coming in in PJs and slippers. It just throws everything off. The amount of kids allowed in the gym is ridiculous. It's literally a classroom of monitoring souls. You will have one kid work out with five people just standing around. This is a terrible gym during peak hours, extremely crowded, which is expected but extremely disruptive. God forbid the new gym goers that ego lifts during your session but In reality are just being extremely disruptive with noise. On the topic of noise whoever is on the ox needs to be fired immediately. I understand everyone does not have similar music taste but to blast Spanish music 24/7 is crazy. I typically don't care for the music because I come with AirPods on blast but nowadays I can hear the music even past my AirPods. I come on the weekends which are pretty good, but the weekdays are terrible. I recommend if you like a peaceful and calm flow to come at 7:30 PM, or anytime before 2 PM on the weekdays. read more

I've been dealing with issues from this club (Owner) for months being told that I was band & that I would have to get a membership to come back because I was working out & coming with friends I've personally known I felt Targeted & harassed today on March 10th 2022 I've seen the owner several times sense I've purchased a membership even being told hi by him on several occasions ... today upon arrival & setting up to workout on a decline bench the owner tells me that him & his client that his was training will workout with me I respectfully say no & the owner tells me that ( wasn't I band from the crunch fitness club) after I told him no that I didn't want to workout with him and his client.& If I didn't let him & his client train with me that I can leave or he was calling the police. I respectfully told him that I've done nothing wrong and I have a membership with the club and their has not been any paperwork filled of any complaints about me & I was up to good standing he told me straight up he owns the club and he does not want me in the gym.I felt at the time that because I turned this owner down on a job offer & didn't want to work for him & he felt that if I didn't work for him that I couldn't workout with my friends that I couldn't be at the Hamilton. New jersey location I truly feel because of turning him down on job offer that he doesn't want me in the gym club...bring escorted by police to have me kicked out i truly felt racially targeted by this owner for standing up for my rights and being A BLACK YOUNG MAN .. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS GYM. My husband opened month to month membership in January they charged him $30 enrollment fee and $17.44 monthly fee. Feb.. $17.44 monthly fee. Then all of a sudden a $60 charge and a $17.44 charge in March. He cancelled his membership (which being on the month-month was able to do without cancellation fee). They will not reimburse him the annual fee which he was never told about and they continued to charge his card. DO NOT TRUST THIS GYM WITH YOUR CC INFO. read more

Very rude and inconsiderate staff. They avoid taking ownership for their mistakes. I love gymming for an affordable price but I will go out of my way to avoid the lack of service from the personnel assigned to this location. This place is horribly staffed and managed and offer little to no customer service or recovery for mistakes that are their own. They do not listen to customers and offer weirdly off-balance math. Beware of hidden fees and little to no accountability for clerical errors on their side. Any place that intends to keep such imbeciles on staff deserves no customer base. Do yourself a favor and find a gym that inspires rather than one that blindly robs and refuses to refund collected dues that were charged in error. read more

I have been a member of one gym or another for 30 plus years, I have a lot of experience. This gym is THE WORST! No WiFi even though they advertise on their website that they have it. The mirrors are in the wrong place you cannot see a mirror from the cable pulls. Yet there are mirrors in front of leg machines that you can't even see yourself in it makes no sense whoever put this gym together has no gym experience. read more

Signed up for a membership and trainer in april. Trainer was only to last 3 months so I could just get myself back into the routine. My trainer ends up leaving Crunch before my contract ended I was assigned a new trainer that never responded to me. Fast forward to the 5 month mark and I notice I am still being charged money for a fitness trainer even though I only applied for 3 months of training. So obviously I go in to cancel. Weeks after the cancellation, I'm charged an additional trainer charge. When asked why I was told they still keep you in for another 30 days even after you cancel. When asked why it wasn't terminated when scheduled, I was told that because they keep the charges enrolled in case we want to continue the service.. THAT ISNT UP TO YOU AND IS NOT YOUR DECISION TO MAKE. If a contract is set for a specific time you end at that specific time. If a customer wants to re-enroll they have that option with all of their info on file. So in short they are not accommodating and are literally a bottomless money pit. For all this you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. So roughly 6-7mo the and almost $1000 later I am thoroughly dissatisfied with all of their employees, policies, and overall lack of accommodation or compassion for their patrons. First let me say that I was thrilled to join Crunch Gym, something close, local and affordable. My first encounter with having a problem was when my credit card information was stolen and had to close my credit card and I explained this to abc financial and the Crunch gym, that I would give them my new card information as soon as I received a new card. Every day that I had to check in for a class, they informed me I was behind on my payment (25.00!!) at the front desk in front of customers. Mind you they already had me account flagged in their computer and they said they would refrain from asking me anything until I received my new card. This happened every single time I went. My next issue with them was when I had to stop attending the gym because my daughter was unexpectedly deployed and now I was the primary care giver for my 3 year old grandson. I could not attend the gym due to my commute to work in New Brunswick every day and now the added responsibility of providing care to my grandson by taking him to and from daycare. I called several times and explained this to Crunch and their main concern was just getting money and not the concern that I had to raise a 3 year old until my daughter returns from duty in November. Then I could not due anything over the phone I had to physically come into the gym, which I had no time to do, or send a certified letter. While I was deciding to do this I was being charged from January up until June. I finally was able to take a day off from work with no pay and go into the gym and cancel my membership. Before I went to the gym to cancel I paid close to 160.00 (for a membership I didn't get to use), to make good on my contract with the gym. When the manager was about to process my termination papers, she had the audacity to ask my why I was canceling... I explained to her my situation, then she had the nerve to say that I had to pay an additional $25.00 for the month of July because in another 10 days I would be billed again! I will never and I mean never obtain another Crunch membership again under any circumstances! The manager was very rude, lacked compassion and basically made it seem like somehow I had the problem. I am very disappointed with this money hungry gym and their lack of compassion that they distribute to people and their family members that are affected by individuals who are serving our country. My daughter's deployment was not planned, me being an alternative full time parent until my daughter returns, was not planned.....Crunch Fitness needs to be ashamed of themselves and how they treat their customers and households who are affected by family members serving our country. I plan on joining another gym that treats their members with respect, dignity and compassion and just doesn't look at their customers to meet their financial quota. read more
