I'm a current member at Crunch Tracy and I can say firsthand I would not recommend this gym. Very frustrating the way they handle billing situations. I got accidentally billed twice the monthly fee and it was a hassle to get refunded, I called the gym multiple times, was told the manger needed to do that, emailed the manager waited a couple days, no answer, emailed them again and got a response, got the refund, a couple weeks later they accidentally charged me a fee that was nonexistent $11. I've been trying to get refunded for the past 2 weeks and have not been able to. Save yourself the hassle and go to a different gym. read more

I hadn't used the gym in over four months due to my busy schedule, but I had continued paying my $35 monthly membership without a single check-in. When I finally decided to cancel my Peak membership, the Crunch app wouldn't let me. It kept giving me an "unknown error" and said the issue needed employee assistance. I drove to the gym to get help. The front desk employee and I spent time trying to cancel my membership through both my phone and the staff computer, but neither worked. Instead of resolving the technical issue, she began calculating all of the fees she claimed I would owe--including my upcoming monthly payment, annual fee, and cancellation fee. The total came out to about $130. That didn't make sense to me, especially since I was only trying to cancel because their app wasn't working. I asked if all of these charges were actually required under my membership agreement, and the employee seemed unsure at first but ultimately insisted they were. After leaving, I logged into the Crunch website instead of using the app. Within minutes, I canceled my membership myself for only $30--not the $130 I had just been told I owed. That experience left me feeling like I was either being misinformed or pressured into paying unnecessary fees. Very new, modern and clean facility. Easily the biggest gym I've ever been in. I booked a free guest pass with the website so that I could take a tour of the facility with Anmol. He was very helpful sharing the benefits of each membership tier and what I could expect. Because it's the newest gym in town, most times of the day are relatively busy. You can expect the early hours to be more laid back and for volume to drop as we get further into the year. No word as to whether or not they plan on offering a summer program for minors that would increase how many people are trying to attend and take up space. As of now, there's plenty of equipment to accommodate most of the guests. Community stuff like resistance bands, weight belts and boxing gloves were a very nice touch. They offer hot classes, babysitting, and an impressive R&R (relax and recover) amenities like a co-ed sauna, various massage chairs and wall connected tissue massage guns. Great facility overall, but I'd like to see better accommodation for services to be available at all ranges of hours. Doesn't make much sense to pay for a premium tier membership when most of the perks of classes and training are during typical 9-5 hours. Also the music is set rather loud. I joined this gym before they opened. I asked the guy who signed me up if there was a cycling/spin class and he said yes. Unfortunately there are no cycling classes, just 2 spin bikes in the main area. The gym, equipment, and classes are all new. Some of the instructors are new and not experienced. It can be very crowded at times. It is difficult to get into the popular classes. It still is a great gym for a low price. The best thing is the hot yoga room. I gave this place an honest try I was excited about the location and the "sauna " if you even want to call it that. It's been broken since launch day and still always out of order. But all in all this place is a glorified daycare center that parents use to get a break from reality, let's be real. The "gym" culture is toxic no professionalism just a bunch of kids/ young adults pretending to know what they are doing while sweeping issues under the rug. Kicking the can down the road type of management that ignores valid concerns. I gave this place an honest try, but the bar was very low and they somehow made me lower my expectations to the concrete. To the 5 star reviewers, you genuinely concern me and you shouldn't be able to review gyms or anything for that matter imo. I feel bad for you... There were teens huddled around machines, asking how much longer I would be on a piece of equipment, and then waiting right behind me. There seems to be a lack of gym etiquette. Additionally, I would like to know when the Hot Studio will be accessible. I pay for the Peak Results membership and expected that such details would have been sorted out prior to their grand opening. It also seems that they are under-staffed, as the supply of waters and energy drinks in the front is often low, and the childcare facility could benefit from extended hours during peak times. It's disappointing when the gym is overcrowded, yet the childcare is at capacity. Regarding the relaxation room, only one sauna is operational while the second one is "coming soon," whatever that means. I understand that no shoes are allowed inside, but I have concerns about cleanliness for those walking in barefoot. How often is the sauna cleaned? All the equipment is new, working and there is a great selection of machines! Multiple chest presses, shoulder presses to hit different angles, a dumbbell rack that goes on for ever and a cable cage that stretches almost (if not) half of the gym! I haven't yet been in the recovery room but definitely will before I leave as it was one of the huge reasons I made the trek out here! Crunch is exactly what Tracy needs. The other big gym in town is completely run down and outdated. This gym is spacious and clean. The front desk is really nice, they always greet me at the front. I wanna say whoever is running their hip hop playlist is doing an amazing job getting me pumped up! I've been to a few classes that they offer such as the barbell and HIIT classes and it's been great. I love the HIIT class with Marcus. He's tough but so amazing with the motivation. I will say it is nearly impossible to sign up for them though but i am appreciative that the instructors let us join in on waitlist. The gym gets really busy at prime time but i think that's expected with any gym in town. The sauna and massage chairs are great but i hope the saunas are getting cleaned. There's alot of sweat stains in there now since opening. Bathrooms and lockers are clean. I love the variety of the equipment that they have there as well. All this died down within few months customer service was not that great, they have no system to manage wait time on machines we had to wait for a long time to get a machine, treadmills are always packed. I was receiving emails and phone calls all the time after I had already canceled my membership. They charged me late fees. Today was my first time trying one of the group classes offered at this gym. While I appreciated the energy and effort that went into the session, I have to point out the issue of overcrowding. The class was supposed to be limited to 16 people, but I counted 26 in attendance. It was far too crowded. That said, our instructor, Marcus, was absolutely fantastic. I recently joined crunch to try it out since they are offering hot yoga and Pilates classes which I'm very much interested in. However, it's is 100% impossible to reserve these classes. I tried several times to book these classes exact time when I'm able to book 22hrs ahead of time and it always showed class are fully booked within A SECOND! This is ridiculous. They don't offer enough classes and people are always squeezing themselves in class after class already started (there is no one check you in after class so you don't necessarily have to reserve classes). It's clearly you can just pay for the cheapest price and still able to do everything else as the highest price member paying (except babysitting). I usually go to In-Shape and I must say crunch is way far worse, not even close comparing to in-shape classes and instructors. Save yourself money, either sign up for the cheapest price or move to inshape if you prefer more effective classes and better instructors. You won't regret it. So far I've had a really good experience at this new Crunch. It's super clean, there's so much space, and I love having access to all brand new equipment. There's honestly a lot to choose from whether it's leg day, arms, back, or cardio, so I never feel limited in my workouts. I know the gym just opened, so I can imagine it's been a little hectic for the staff, but from my perspective everything has been smooth. I'm honestly surprised it only has one star right now because for the price, the amount of equipment and space you get feels like a steal, definitely one of the better options in Tracy when it comes to affordability. There are just a few areas for improvement. As some other reviews have mentioned, the music can be a bit too loud at times. The R&R area could also benefit from "No Loud Talking" signage for those trying to relax after their workout. Additionally, it would be helpful if members stepped away from equipment when taking phone calls, rather than occupying machines. Before this location opened, a Crunch Fitness Tracy sales representative told me my first month would be free and that my membership would only begin once I attended my first class. I never attended the gym even once. Despite this, I was charged multiple times over several months, totaling close to $190, and was even charged after submitting a cancellation request. What makes this worse is the complete lack of response from management. I emailed the club multiple times, including manager@crunchtracy.com and agm@crunchtracy.com , and followed up repeatedly -- no response at all. If you're considering joining this location, be extremely careful and get everything in writing. Once billing starts, getting a response or resolution appears to be very difficult. I signed up for a membership about three months ago when the gym wasn't even open yet. I was told very clearly that my membership wouldn't start and I wouldn't be charged until I physically checked in at one of their locations. I wasn't able to visit any gym until today. To my surprise, after checking my credit card statements, I realized they had been charging me from the day the gym opened. I never checked in, never received a single email receipt, and never got any confirmation that billing had even started. Yes, I should have read the paperwork more carefully, but it's incredibly frustrating to be billed for months of a service I was told wouldn't activate until my first visit. It feels misleading and unfair, especially with zero communication or receipts. Really disappointed with how this was handled. The younger lady who watches the kids club doesn't know what she's doing. She just sits at the computer area. My 5 yr old child was bullied by an older child. My child tried to defend herself but instead of watching them and telling them to go separate ways to make sure nothing would happen again, we were asked to leave. I asked the attendant what happened and couldn't tell me. My younger child is the one who told me what happened. I was once worked in 24hr fitness and watch the kids, I watched the kids, play with them and keep them busy. I think that's what should be implemented and train the attendants properly. read more

This place has the worse customer service skills, they are rude and unprofessional. They barely started tracking down people on the Zumba class, how come they didn't do it on Day one. She wouldn't provide me with a corporate phone number. She also stated that it was private property, What did she meant by these? I am a current member and loved this place when it first opened but now very disappointed. I had a 6 month training membership with the best trainer they had Jesus who was fired abruptly with no reason given. It took several emails to the PT manager that I was unhappy because I wasn't given sufficient notice, wanted a refund and the number to cooperate which he avoided to answer, come to find out from another employee they are not allowed to give out cooperate info. Then I had to put a freeze on my membership for 1 month and now ready to reinstate it emailed Chris the manager several times with no response I had to go into the gym today and her response was " I had 50 emails I had to return so what's the issue?" Well first I don't care you have 50 emails to answer that's your job and 2nd I am the customer show some respect and from what I found out from another employee that's her go-to response however all you see is her roaming around the gym giggling with fellow employees. Not to mention the crowds that are now there and the cheap ass paper towels and spray bottles to clean with. Save your money and time find another gym.
