My friend has a guest pass here and brought me for the second time. Crunch has everything I need to work out. Their machines are a bit different and use a slider to increase/decrease weight. My slight pet peeve is that the plates aren't the same brand throughout. I see a few different types of the same weight. Crunch also has a tire for working out, which I wish more gyms had! Staff was very nice and I saw them actively refilling cleaning products and such. The parking spot is quite small (at least the one right in front of it), but I'm not from the area, so not sure if there's more space. read more

Had bad experience with harassment of people attending this gym, not their fault but when I took it upon the staff soooooo rude made me feel stupid and not heard and literally looked at me CRAZY....ladies go to crunch on grafton street soooo much better. To start with a positive - I like the staff. They are always friendly and helpful. Another positive is that it's cheap and the location is convenient. The negatives are 1) the showers often don't have hot water. There's a problem with the water heater that has gone on for months. This is a major problem if you plan to go somewhere else after the gym. 2) It looks run down - a) Torn carpet in the women's locker room that needs replacing. b) There's a light fixture in one of the showers that has been broken for months and needs replacing. Go to any other gym in Massachusetts! The facilities smell, are perpetually understocked, unclean with dust and spiderwebs everywhere. The swipe to get in before staff arrives only works about half the time leaving members stranded outside, and due to the tiny parking lot's overcrowding some people have to park in neighborhooring lots just to get there. They will also run you in circles if you try to cancel your already crappy membership. Keep a record of who you talk to and when because they will claim your account is closed, charge you again, gaslight you, and then try to charge you an additional fee monthly for not paying for a membership you canceled. I actually really like this Crunch. It's located in a pretty convenient location in Worcester, and unexpectedly larger than what it looks like it should be. There's also a huge community and other members are quite friendly and enjoy talking to you if you're in between sets. Anyways, on to the actual gym... PRICE: I have the peak membership, which means I have access to other crunch gyms. For $23 you can't beat that price. They do have a $50 annual fee to maintain the space and what not. Which is a one time charge per year. If it were part of the monthly fee, it's just another $4.17 leading to what could be a $27.17ish charge per month. This is actually cheaper than what I was paying at a different Crunch in New York where it was $30/month plus the $50 annual fee and it was smaller. No complaints on the pricing here. EQUIPMENT: They have decent turf space, slam & jam balls, kettle bell racks, a sled, three deadlifting/Olympic weightlifting platforms, three squat racks/rigs, two Smith machines, three bench press racks, and a whole lot of weight machines, cables, and cardio machines. They even have a landmine, which is unfortunately placed right by/in front of the men's locker rooms. Despite the unfortunate placement of the landmine, I'd say there's quite a lot this gym has to offer. They even have decent studio space that you're allowed to use if there aren't any classes happening. CLEANLINESS: Maybe it's the time that I go at, but a lot of the members are wiping down their equipment when they're done and before using even. I feel pretty safe here as a majority of members are also complying with the mask mandate or just wearing masks volitionally to stay safe. STAFF: I've had three or four interactions with the staff on separate occasions, and each time they've been nothing but helpful, polite, and professional. I will say that it's a little odd they'd choose to vacuum the gym floor in the middle of a busy hour every now and then, but the fact they're trying to keep the gym clean is nice. Overall, I would recommend this Crunch location. It's got a lot to offer and it has its quirks. If anything, it's got the necessities for a good membership price, which is mostly what I care about. read more

Do Not join because you can never cancel. my son cancelled over a year ago and continue to get charged every month. Proof of cancellation June 2023 but they still are taking money from my credit card. They owe me over $300 and will not pay me back. Since crunch took over from Boost, they're definitely making tons of improvements. Paint, equipment, paving, etc. I'm hopeful it'll continue to improve! The staff are always polite and helpful. It's not usually too full to exercise on different machines. My current complaints are mostly about the classes - they're constantly changed and shuffled around, which makes it hard to build a routine. Also some of the instructors aren't the best (sorry!). If anyone from Crunch reads this, my suggestions are: Keep the class schedule more stable Give us the opportunity (maybe in the app?) to review instructors If classes are supposed to have a cap, please enforce that. Sometimes that tiny room is way over full Need paper towels in the bathroom... self explanatory Please give us free filtered water from a fountain at least. 2.50 for a bottle of water is insane, this isn't Disney World. read more

Overall has been a horribly filthy and overall poorly maintained gym. Staff is useless and members are pretty bad or aloof. The equipment is so poorly maintained that I would say it borders on dangerous. There is a local mask mandate and everyone ignores it. I decided to stop playing the game of wearing the mask in the first 3 feet. I got singled out and, after pointing out 15 other members in the gym not wearing masks, I was told by the front desk staff that it was because I said I don't have a mask coming in and that they would have been happy if I put it on to walk in then took it off inside the gym. Since I was being singled out due to their bruised ego, I cancelled my membership which was long overdue. read more

Terrible service from the manager .. Shame on this facility charging the 50.00 fee when the gym was closed during this difficult time for all due to Covid ! When we spoke to the manager and she was unprofessional.. I hope you at least take the 50.00 you took out of my account and donate it to a charitable Covid fund ... Got a preview of the updates made during the temporary shutdown. It's like a new facility. Crunch has been steadily improving, but they really took advantage of this time for some major clean up and upgrades. This place is awful. They are a bunch of scammers and liars. I cancelled my membership like 2 months ago. They continued to charge me, and they charged me with hidden fees that were not discussed when I first purchased my month to month membership. I called to get my money back, and they weren't being helpful at all. I'm still trying to get my money back right now. Do yourself a favor and don't give those scums your money. The fact that they are robbing customers blind kinda speaks for what the business/gym is about. Do yourself a favor and find a different gym. read more

The temperature in Crunch Fitness is stifling. I am sweating before my first rep. I am a monthly member and will probably leave to find somewhere with a more reasonable temperature. The variety of equipment is good so I'm disappointed that I can't continue because of the temps. read more

Crunch Fitness is moving in the right direction! MANY improvement to the facility and equipment since the change from Boost Fitness to CRUNCH. Updated cardio machines, many more machines than ever. (Sometimes I feel that they're a little close; but how else do you accommodate the membership.) The time of day ALWAYS will, with ALL gyms, dictates the crowd. Not too many in the mornings when I'm there. Yet when I've popped in at 5/5:30pm, it's a bit more crowded. Again I stress that the facility and staff are improving under the CRUNCH moniker. Honestly this gym has its ups and its downs. Its a medium sized gym with lots of equipment but at rush hour it can be a bit packed. I wish they had more than three squat racks, and sometimes the temperature isn't properly regulated and it smells alot like sweat. But if you go there often enough the faces become familiar, the front staff always greet you and everyone is silently motivating you to work harder. Locker rooms are clean and great place to change/set up for your workout. And they have great classes and amenities such as hyrdo massage. And if you sign up for the more expensive membership you can use any Crunch location. read more

Terrible experience from this gym and management. Extremely unhelpful and had every question answered with "can I help you with anything else" ignoring my questions. When I asked to speak with someone higher up she said there was no one else besides her (a manager) and she had no boss. Facility and equipment were fine. Dirty, but fine. The staff working there was extremely unhelpful. I got a membership in early February because the gym at my college had been closed due to COVID. I got word that the on-campus gym was opening on March 14th, so a few days before that date, I spoke to an employee in-person about cancelling my membership at Crunch. I asked a few questions, such as "will I still be charged for the next month if I cancel on the 14th? Will I be charged an annual fee?" And he responded saying if I cancelled by that date, I would receive no more charges. On March 14th, I called the front desk and asked to cancel my membership. After fumbling around and a little back-and-forth, the guy essentially says that he couldn't find my account, and that he assumed the man I spoke to in person had already cancelled it for me. He said if I was still being charged, to call the front desk and they would take care of it. Fast forward to today (May 12th) and I've been charged $85 total for a gym I haven't set foot in since March, and I've called three times and staff has been terribly unhelpful. I am told different things and policies every time I call. They are either fucking morons or scammers, or both. I paid $85 (two monthly charges and a ridiculous annual fee) because a staff member f*cked up and there's "nothing they can do". If you plan on getting a membership there, you should document everything including the names of the employees you speak to and the dates, because I never took down the name of the first two men I spoke to so I'm SOL. Ridiculous. EDIT: Scrolling through the reviews and others have had this same problem, where they try to cancel and then staff has "no record" of them cancelling their membership, and they continue to receive charges. Lol! So sketchy and scammy. I never thought I'd ever say this about any gym, but at this point planet fitness would be better. read more

Major Covid Concerns at Crunch Fitness in Worcester Went to Crunch Fitness at 40 Millbrook St Worcester - day 2 of gyms being reopened and I was appalled at what took place: No Covid policies or procedures discussed upon entry No temperature check No hand sanitizer anywhere in the gym No mask policy. Only policy in place is that you have to wear one "when walking through the door" . after working out for about 20 mins I realized that hardly anyone was wearing a mask while working out. So, I decided to take a count. Of 25 people in the gym 18 had NO MASK ON. That's 72% NOT WEARING MASKS So I decided to ask at the front desk about their mask policy. The employee proceeded to tell me we ask that you wear one when entering the door but once on the gym floor it is at one's discretion and THEY ARE NOT Policing IT. That is what the employee told me I also attend a gym (not Crunch) in RI and totally different experience. Policies and procedures discussed upon entry, signs everywhere, hand sanitizer everywhere, temperature taken every time entering the premises and just about everyone wears masks. This in Worcester is Scary. How can they open and operate that way?? read more

Crunch Fitness Worcester is clean and the staff are polite. I am disabled and have issues with mobility and balance. It's difficult for me to lose weight and use machines as well as doing classes for cardio. Personal Trainer Kyle is teaching me different methods of exercising so that I get the same results as other clients do with working out on machines or in classes. In addition I can use these methods of exercising at home when I'm not at Crunch Fitness. read more

Place smell, locker room is filthy, cardio machine smell from other ppl sweat. Staff sit up front all day while place is a mess and doesn't bother to smile or greet customer, beside the fact rude when approach. Peek time there's no parking. Trainer are clueless. read more
