Fries, original, and potato corn dog.
    Wesley S.

Located in side Walmart. Food takes time. It's not precooked. So it's fresh if you can call a corn dog fresh. Fries were crispy and slightly battered. So probably not gluten free. Original dog was crispy and not over battered. Potato dog was a mouth a little hard to eat. But crunchy and good. Nice to have something new in the area.

Is this place ever open?? More on that below…read more This location is inside Max Casino in downtown Carson City, at the rear, almost at the corner of the building on South Curry Street and West 10th Street, and kitty corner from Curry Street Pub in the casino. I have been here three times: today, Tuesday, June 11, 2019 (they were closed, as scheduled) Saturday, March 23, 2019 Friday, March 8, 2019. This used to be a Max'd Out Coffee, an independent company that leased this space inside the casino. They most likely did not too well, as they were more of a coffee place/cafe, but the casino was not too busy in the daytime. Now the location is run by the casino itself and is supposedly open in the afternoons and evenings on certain days. To be honest, I am not sure if the restaurant is actually called "Max's Snack Shack", as there is no name posted in the place, and no website with info about it. It just sprang up a month ago on Yelp. I hesitated to officially create this business three months ago on Yelp since it is owned by the casino and did not have a name, other than "Snack Bar". But I guess someone else did. Currently the Yelp hours, categories, and location are wrong; I reported this to Yelp just today. They are not open 24/7; they never served breakfast & brunch, pizza, or sandwiches; and they are not inside "Max's Casino" (it is called "Max Casino"). Originally, the zip code and map location were also wrong, until I corrected that a few weeks ago. But Yelp did not change the hours, as I had requested. Ugh. The snack bar consists of an L-shaped counter with cash register and prep area behind the counter. There is a large seating area around it, consisting of high tops and a counter. But no one is ever there. It's kind of an unused section of the casino. I also said "supposedly open" above since the first two times I have been here, there were signs that said: "be right back" (see: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/maxs-snack-shack-carson-city?select=OUbrXp6zXLyxT3gBw9B9JQ&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ), although they were not right back in the 15 minutes I was here; and "in the kitchen 15 minutes" (see: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/maxs-snack-shack-carson-city?select=fB4mpfsSY_LtXy4Lzt6fAg&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ). Both of these incidents occurred during hours the snack bar was supposedly open. So the first two times I came here, they were not there when they were supposed to be. Kind of funny...and frustrating...and unprofessional. I have wanted to try them out, but I am not having much luck. According to the printout out they have posted at the snack bar at various locations, they are open: Thursday: 5 PM-9 PM Friday: 4 PM-10 PM Saturday: 2 PM-8 PM (but on one of the printouts, "8 PM" is manually crossed out and replaced by "10 PM" -- see https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/maxs-snack-shack-carson-city?select=-ohhqZlbVi3dYh3C2mQU7g&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ) Sunday: 2 PM-8 PM There menu consists of exactly the following seven items: hot dogs wings mozzarella sticks tacos beef quesadillas nachos jalapeno poppers It honestly sounds like microwaved food from the limited selection. I am not sure if I am missing much by not eating here. I will try to go here again. Maybe the third time will be the charm and I can leave a higher rating.

They also have an incredible beer selection with well over 100 beers on the menu, so there's something for everyone. A word of advice make reservations if you can. The wait was nearly an hour and it's easy to see why. We started with the fry bread and the jalapeño bombs. The fry bread was delicious, but those jalapeño bombs were an absolute 10/10 and a must-order. We originally came for the prime rib, but unfortunately they had already sold out around 6 p.m., which was definitely disappointing. Thankfully, the food that did make it to our table erased that disappointment pretty quickly. We ordered the two-meat BBQ plate with ribs and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, smoky, and paired perfectly with their delicious BBQ sauce. We also tried the spicy pot pie, which was unlike any pot pie I've had before, in a good way. It reminded me of an enchilada baked inside a buttery, flaky crust, and it was fantastic. The service was equally impressive. I feel terrible that I can't remember our server's name because he absolutely deserves the recognition. He was friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience even better. Between the amazing food, outstanding service, and unique atmosphere, this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. In fact, it's probably the biggest reason I'd make the drive back to Carson City.

Food Unfortunately,…read morethe food was very disappointing. The ribs tasted stale and almost jerky-like, as if they had been sitting out too long or reheated multiple times. The basket of wings was cold in the middle and tasted as though they had simply been microwaved. They also tasted old and lacked freshness. The Jump Up and Kiss Me Chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. The flavor was just okay, but there was nothing particularly special about the dish. Service The service was very poor. Our waitress repeatedly rolled her eyes and barely checked on us to see if everything was okay. I had to repeatedly get up myself to ask for condiments, refreshments, and napkins. Management I was also disappointed with how the manager handled my concerns. After I explained our experience, her response was essentially, "Okay, I'll pass along your comments." She did not seem concerned or interested in making the situation better. Unfortunately, I understood why the service was so poor after speaking with the manager. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and in this case, I did not feel that there was much care or concern for the customers. I used to love going to Reds when they had the previous manager. He was always kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customers. The food was also delicious and tasted fresh. It's disappointing to see how much the experience has changed. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously because Reds used to be a place I genuinely enjoyed visiting.

I normally get burritos at a lot of different burrito joints all over, but never had one deep fried. I thought that would just be like a chimichanga. But this doesn't have cheese and sauce all over, it's basically a super burrito with everything inside and then dumped into the deep fryer. We drive thru a bunch of street construction and find a place to park in the parking lot. The building looks like an old Taco Bell but painted bright blue. This parking lot is pretty busted up. We park and go in. My friend does the ordering. We get a nice booth and the food is up in maybe 7 or 8 minutes. Wow, I never seen a deep fried burrito like this. We eat like this was a regular burrito, by hand eating from one end. The fried flour tortilla is easy to hold and doesn't fall apart. Spicy salsa is available in a big squeeze bottle. Wow, this is dang tasty! I like the flour tortilla isn't all doughy like in a regular burrito, it seems thinner being fried. I kinda like this. The marinated pork with rice and beans and cheese inside tastes good in that combination. If you want this, just ask for a deep fried super burrito with whatever meat you want. I'm glad I tried this. Now it's back with the crew and off we go back to Sacramento.

About the same price as San Marcos Grill. Choose to come here for my fish (try to have fish 4 times a week), the fish they had was frozen, boo hoo. To be fair, we came late, about an hour before closing. The guy offered to thaw it quickly but we were all unsure if it would cook too much. So I chose the fish fillet in garlic butter sauce but guess what. That's not what I got. Dang. I got basically fish sticks. Breaded, over fried and even my salad had nothing on it. Not a good night for Darla. Don't worry though. I will be back and ask for my whole fish again. It IS yummy!

The property is well maintained and clean, I can definitely sit in my car or their covered patio to enjoy my ice cream shake. Reposted from the OP (I am NOT the OP)9…read more I'm an anonymous driver for Uber Eats, and I recently picked up an order for a customer from Sonic. The pickup instructions in the app stated that drivers should press the button at the ordering screen, but upon arrival I was instructed to walk up and ask for the order instead. An employee then motioned from inside for me to come and retrieve it. Unfortunately, the bag they handed me was already defective and had begun tearing on the side. As soon as they passed it to me, the bag completely gave way and the contents spilled onto the ground. What concerned me most was that the employees attempted to pick up the food they considered "salvageable" and place it into a new bag rather than remake the order. I found this to be both unsanitary and unethical. When I objected and requested that the order be remade, the employees refused. They informed me that they would not remake the food, threatened to call the police, and stated they would have my vehicle towed if I did not leave and accept their decision. Because I was unwilling to deliver food that had fallen on the ground, I contacted Uber Support. Uber attempted to intervene and called the restaurant on my behalf in an effort to have the order remade. However, the manager and staff still refused. Ultimately, Uber was only able to offer me half compensation for the time and inconvenience. My primary concern throughout this entire incident was the customer's health and safety. Food that has fallen onto the ground should never be repackaged and served to a customer. Allowing contaminated food to be delivered poses an obvious risk of illness and is completely unacceptable. Is there any way to have the local health department or appropriate agency investigate this location to ensure proper food safety procedures are being followed? Customers place their trust in restaurants to handle food safely, and this experience raises serious concerns about the standards being practiced at this establishment.
