Carniceria Y Taqueria Mendoza, they have a location in Fallon, Sun Valley and now finally in Dayton, whoopee!! I can now get my costillitas de puerco, pork spare ribs in chile verdi!!! The people are great and happy to open in this location and so am I, the interior is nicely decorated and very inviting. The staff are wonderful but a little bit of a language barrier but that can easily be overcome, someone there will be able to speak english. Located directly behind the restaurant is the market stocked with a meat counter and a very good grocery store. This will be my go to spot since it's close to me and the food is fantastic. read more

Restaurant has been updated and under new ownership. The inside is fresh with good seating. Menu is small, but has the essentials. Al Pastor torta was very good as was the Carne asada burrito. Only knocked a star off due to charging 4.50 for a bag of chips to go with our to go order. If they are free at the table...they should be included in the to go order. read more

Absolutely the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I had breakfast at a Mexican restaurant in Baja California. This restaurant had no glass in the windows and the waitress came out from the kitchen area in what appeared to be her robe and slippers. The food she brought to us was marvelous. In store dining was awesome. It was pretty quite in there for how good the food was I thought it would be a little more busy. But overall good experience. Couple weeks later I decided to get take out. The take out portions were WAY smaller that the in restaurant portions. Happy with the food though and the micheladas are decent! Fresh salsa is killer!! Taste like mom`s home cooking! Everything was fresh and well presented. I had the chile relleno, which you can taste is freshly roasted. As always, you can tell good Mexican by how good their beans and rice taste, and here they are spot on! I poured the yummy salsa on everything, it was so delish! This place used to be our favorite local Mexican restaurant but last year they changed owners and now the food is just awful. Our tacos were so greasy, the menudo was terrible, and the papusa was definitely microwaved.. you could tell because the side was rock hard and just didn't taste like anything. Meh. Food was bland. Got the carnitas plate. Meat had some weird sauce on it that tasted like a combination of carrot and pumpkin. No crema, salsa, cheese, lettuce, guacamole served with it. I ate here Saturday 9/29/18. This place was great. I had the Shrimp Tostada. My bf had the chimichanga. Only downside was they were out of ice cream as my son wanted that but it was ok because he really didn't need it. The customer service was really great. read more

We moved to the area over the summer on 2013 and are extremely happy we found Las Reina's Restaurant. We order from there quite often, especially when company rolls into town. This is there only place that does quesadillas right! They add pico de gallo and sour cream inside. That's how I'm used to having them and they are delicious!! They cook everything to order so it takes a little bit, but well worth the wait. Good tacos too! read more

Pretty terrible. Upon walking in it looked clean and promising. I asked the woman at the counter about the food she said everything was homemade and fresh. the pictures of the food on the wall looked nice and tasty. I ordered 2 crispy tacos, nachos and a shredded beef burrito. Deceived!!!! The Tacos were not fried like a crispy taco but just a plain old store bought pre made shell, the beef inside was lacking it tasted worse than the stuff from a can. The Nachos were some creation looking like something i would get from a national chain. liquid cheese NOT fresh like advertised the Carne Asada tasted like it was a day or two old and just reheated, the beans are definitely of the canned variety and everything else in it BLEH! The Shredded Beef Burrito looked like it would be the best thing of the bunch but it was not. Just a factory made flour tortilla available in any supermarket. Canned beans, the same beef as described in the Tacos...the only thing remotely decent was the rice and flavor wise was alright but a tad mushy. For this order i waited 45 minutes. From the look and taste it could have been thrown together in less than 5 minutes. Overpriced and just not worth the time. Will definitely never visit this place again. read more

I recently moved up to Reno, from LA, about 6 months ago. Since then, I have not found a Mexican restaurant with decent Al Pastor. They have all been very mediocre. However, I was on a job for work, so I decided to stop by and give this place a try. Not expecting much from the pastor, I ended up being blown away by it. The flavor was on point! I was slightly dry, but still so delicious! I forgot to take a picture because it looked so delicious, I couldn't wait! This was the first time that I have ever favored the pastor over the Carne Asada(my favorite). Needless to say, I would highly recommend this restaurant! Great tacos for a low low price! By far the best and most authentic Mexican food in Dayton! You can sit down on the restaurant side or get food to go from the store (or restaurant). I have only eaten at this restaurant twice. Unless I hear that the food has improved dramatically, I won't go back again. For starters, both times the chips were stale and tasted terrible. Think of rancid oil mixed with lemon/lime salt or something. The salsa also seemed old, and even when fresh probably didn't taste very good. The last visit, the meals weren't any better than the chips. Although the Chicken and Steak tacos were good, the El-Pastor in my taco tasted like it was from the bottom of the pan and was burnt. The Spanish rice was okay, but the beans tasted like they came out of a can and it wasn't Rosarita. My girlfriend ordered the El Salvadorian pastry stuffed with meat and vegetables. These apparently were deep fried in the same rancid oil as the chips and were severely over cooked. They tasted terrible. The funny thing is, you can go to their store right next door, order much of the same food and for whatever reason it tastes much better. Go figure. read more

If there was 0 stars, that's what I'd give this place. I had my daughter go there, to get a few things, she calls and tells me, it came up to $40.00. It was supposed to be less than $20.00 by the menu prices on Google. The order wasn't done for almost an hour and they would not give her the online prices. I wanted to go down there, to deal with it myself, but it was almost 8:00 p.m, they close at 7:00 p.m. That goes to show you, how long it took them to get the food even ready. They were extremely rude and it was our first and last time, going to this rip off so called Mexican Restaurant. I am going to be sure, to do everything in my power, to see that this rip off place goes out of business. I live right down the street from there and I will let the whole town of Dayton, Carson and any other town, nearby here, that their food looks like . I threw it away, cause it looked so bad. A few things were great, and other things were not. For starters, a shrimp ceviche tostada should have a solid amount of shrimp. Mine had about 2 pieces chopped up with an insane amount of fake crab- which was listed nowhere that it had this. It was about 60% tomatoes, 35% fake crab and 5% shrimp. And I still had to pay $4 for it. The carne asada tacos were insane! SO good. They grill the onions just slightly which gives such a great flavor, and the meat is SO tender. The chicken enchiladas were a little bland and very dry, usually there is much more sauce, so for the tortillas to be dry was odd on an enchilada. I could eat their tacos daily! read more

Interesting mix of Mexican and El Salvadorian menu choices. I've had the chile verde, chili colorado, tacos, various caldos (soups) and all were really, really good and hearty. It's not fast food so have a drink and chill. The soups are a full meal about two cups of broth and heavy on the ingredients. Served with chopped onion, cilantro, ground chili and oregano. After working late and this place was close by I stopped to pick up dinner, what a mistake. I ordered a margarita while I waited, it tasted like chemicals; they must use the cheapest tequila.
