As someone who grew up in the area and went to school in College Park, I somehow had no idea this place even existed! Even though the facility is slated for renovations soon, it's still very nice in its current state. They have both indoor and outdoor courts, spacious locker rooms, and a really nice clubhouse area. The atmosphere felt active and welcoming, especially on a busy Saturday afternoon. The staff members assigned as our coaches for the day were also incredibly kind and patient as they helped us work on our form and learn the basics of tennis. As someone newer to the sport, I really appreciated how encouraging and approachable they were. I've recently picked up tennis as a hobby and have been exploring clubs in the area to potentially join, and JTCC is definitely high on my list now. My only small critique is that I wasn't able to speak with anyone at the front desk because it was so busy, and the website doesn't list membership pricing, so I'll have to call for more details. Still, overall I left really impressed and excited to come back!

It's a short drive from the DC area and definitely worth it. JTCC's facilities and team are top tier. A friend and I started level 1 tennis lessons with Coach Frank and had a blast. They currently have an offer where if you buy one group lesson package ($60) you get to bring a friend with you for free. My friend and I learned so much over the 3 weeks that we attended. They have various day and time options for you to choose from and there's an ample amount of parking. My friend I are now taking tennis 2 lessons once a week and we are obsessed. My son has been going to the camps and clinics for more than a year and he's made huge strides. This is the real deal, with real coaches and a lot of hard work -- but also fun games of King of Court, etc. But the kids really learn about discipline and fitness at WTEF. The students come from all over the world and all parts of DC Metro, all united by a love of tennis, so its a really interesting and nice community. I should add that the courts are fantastic quality, too, of course.

For many years, our Senior Group has played tennis at Cosca. When I say many, I am talking about…read moremore than 30 years. We played many times during the week but always on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Now, MNCPP-C has decided to increase their prices which we ultimately agreed to continue to support. But now, more importantly, the 2/1 cost for tennis on Tuesday and Thursday is gone. There were people many years retired in the Tuesday and Thursday group which will now no longer have a place to play community tennis because some of these Seniors can no longer afford the price increase. We fought for many years to get an indoor tennis and education center in the Southern part of the County and that fell on deaf ears for more than 30 years. Cosca is now planning to have indoor programs in lieu of our Senior tennis. Cosca is cold in the Winter, extremely hot in the Summer and water is on Court 4 when it rains--we endured these conditions for many years. The Courts are always dirty and now, it is time to no longer support these Courts. Let me suggest you join Bowie SportFit.

At the Y, there are six pickleball courts, striped over three tennis courts. Court surface is great compared to other courts in the Arlington area. There are times/options for all level of play and many sessions are marked for specific levels of play so you know what you're signing up for. It does occasionally struggle with HVAC issues but they address it as much as they can, considering the age of the facility. But they are planning a renovation/new facility, so that's great. And consistent with many pickleball communities, the Y's efforts - drop-ins, tournaments, WhatsApp groups, etc. - have fostered a great community.

We like their strategic approach to teaching, training, practicing, and implementing the game of basketball. They challenge the players through engaging league play which provides them an opportunity to implement their skill competitively. We have seen a huge improvement in our son's skills and confidence in the game. The coaches are approachable and provide feedback that is helpful on and off the court. Most importantly (at least to us), the coaching staff and teammates welcomed our son, which immediately, made him feel part of the Hoopstarz team.

I can swim all 4 competitive strokes now (butterfly is still challenging and needs work) and working on flip turns which I can land but haven't perfected just yet. I've had wonderful instructors and the administrators have been excellent with rescheduling. Give them a try. You won't regret it. Very fair prices and probably the best in the city and I've been to other swim schools in the area.
