I've been hearing so many great things about CRUST!! CAFE. I have a family member who works here and finally got the chance to get over to the South Hills to try the menu. We placed an order and when I arrived to pick up the order, the parking lot was jammed with cars!! This is always a good sign. I loved the ambiance of the inside with a huge chalkboard listing the menu and specials. I have not been to a restaurant this busy on a Saturday in a long time. Even though they were so busy all of our food was done exactly when they said it would be! The girls at the counter were so nice I really enjoyed talking to them about the menu!! I said hi to my family but he had to get right back at it because they were so busy. For our order we had a white pizza with tomato, a half cheese half pepperoni, bread bites, a chicken salad and I had a steak and cheese pizza on a gluten free cauliflower crust. It was so so good!! We had Buffalo wings, onion rings and pizza slices. The wings are cooked perfectly and you could drink the blue cheese dressing. A flavor explosion. The onion rings cooked perfectly. They go great with the marinara sauce. I got a regular slice with onions and wife got Sicilian with mushrooms. We both like the style we got the most. As great as the food, the people at Crust are the reason for the season. We are still talking about how nice everyone was. It really makes dinner taste better read more

I've been to this place so many times that I feel guilty only leaving one review. If you like thin and crispy pizza, this may not be for you. Their Classic pizza is a bit doughier (love the garlic parm crust), and they also have Sicilian, which is delicious. They have a phenomenal "Slice" lunch special, which is a huge slice of Classic or Sicilian pizza plus a sizeable side salad for either $5 or $5.99 (I can't remember which). They have great homemade dressings. For wings, I've only had the honey-hot, but they were fantastic. The bread bites (like garlic knots) are awesome. I get the chicken Philly hoagie, which is bursting with flavor. The steak hoagies are really good too (I wasn't a fan of the Bacon Bleu Boo Steak - a little too salty for me with the bacon and bleu cheese together). Molly and the staff are always super friendly. Very small parking lot, and they do a lot of to-go business, so the lunch rush can get tricky with double parking, but there's typically someone leaving within a few minutes. read more

Take and bake pizza for the win! We've ordered take and bake pizza from Crust recently and we will return again soon. The menu is large. Lots of options. We've done standard pizzas, the Sicilian (deep dish) pizza and specialty pizzas (ie the Maui Wowie and BBQ Chicken). While all of them were very good - I was particularly fond of the Sicilian. The deep, thick crust baked perfectly in our oven - I have to say I was genuinely angry at myself for only ordering a small (four cut). A couple of tips: - The parking lot is small be patient. - The staff clearly works very hard, but I have always had to wait a few minutes (10 minutes) past the stated pick-up time. I think - especially for take-and-bake - give it a few extra minutes. And be cool if your pizza takes a few extra minutes to be ready - its great quality and, again, the staff is clearly working hard. - If you have flexibility in your schedule consider ordering and picking up before the rush/dinner hour. Parking will be easier and you can store the unbaked pies in your fridge. read more

This is a small little family feeling pizza joint in the south hills .. lot of take out business but there are a few nice tables inside that you can eat in...they have a good loyal customer base - you can tell when you go in and how they interact with their customers What's good? Pretty much everything we try. Last night we got pizza, steak salad, buffalo chicken salad and their yummy chili ( yes chili). We have also tried the wedges and wings and yes they also have wedding soup! The pizza has a good ratio of sauce and cheese and love the sprinkle of cheese on the crust! The ranch is homemade and so yummy and the chili has the right amount of heat to want to have another bowl. Now for the people. The crew is super friendly and helpful. One of the reasons ( besides the good food) that we go back Back here for yet another great pizza night! We had chili, Sicilian and buffalo chicken. All were delicious! Things you need to know before you go: It's a happening place on a Friday night! I called at 6pm, and it took 45 minutes to get 2 slices of pizza, 2 small salads, and an order of fries. Everything is generous here: the slices are big enough to be 2 regular pieces of pizza. A small salad has enough toppings to be an entree for one person. And when they accidentally cooked 4 slices, they let me take all of them. Prices are right. Parking is tight. If you're worried about strict masking, this isn't the pizzeria for you. read more

Update: a bit confused about recent the recent price increase for the Sicilian pizza. Last time my boyfriend and I ordered an XL pepperoni Sicilian style for $18, and I was amazed at the great price for what we got. This time around it, we noticed the menu said .30 cents per topping PER SLICE for Sicilian. So if you wanted 2 toppings for an XL Sicilian (16 slices) it would come to about $31. This time for one topping we paid $26 for the pizza. I think this is a steep price now. Yes, the pizza is amazing, but the only baked Sicilian takeout option is XL. The other sizes you have to cook yourself. We won't come here as often now because it's not as affordable as it was a few months ago. I will say the wings were incredible. We might have to start just getting those and skip out on the pricey Sicilian. ---------------------------------------------------- Wow, you HAVE to try their Sicilian pizza. It is just incredible. It's thick, buttery, and crunchy. They put the perfect amount of sauce on it; not too much but just enough! My boyfriend and I ordered takeout last month and got a regular pizza, and when we got home it was so soggy and droopy that we had to bake it again ourselves. That wasn't the best experience, however this recent experience definitely made up for it. I drive about 25 minutes to get this, (mind you pizza isn't one of my favorite things), but this is a new favorite of mine. If I'm ever craving pizza, I'll need it to be up to this standard. Prices are pretty fair. We got this extra large pizza for $18, and for the quality of this pizza, I would pay that any day. This place is small and has about 7-8 tables and it was super busy in there. I literally had to wait in a line just to park in the lot. The cars here were triple parked! I don't usually order take & bake. I sometimes think it's lazy. My mind has been changed... I ordered a large Sicilian from Crust! and was not disappointed. My family really enjoyed the thick pizza with about one pound of hot sausage on just half of the pie. Topping lovers unite! Wow. Sauce, cheese, crust, toppings were great. The pizza took about 13 minutes to cook in my oven and I needed a large knife to cut it for my pizza cutter couldn't handle this gigantic pie. It took us two meals to eat the large. This is by far one of our favorite places to get pizza and hoagies! We have been a customer for years now and they have usually been consistent for us. Both there Take-n-Bake regular and Sicilian pizzas are excellent! Meatball hoagies are great as well as their Philly cheesesteak hoagies. First trip to Crust and I totally love it. Small place on Painters Run Road. But much to look at in the outside but the pizza was so good! Ordered takeout on a Wednesday night, ready in 15 min. Few tables inside to sit but I definitely think this is my new go to place when I want good takeout pizza. We had the bread bites which were very flavorful, just the right amount of garlic and Parmesan. Perfect for a group to share as there is plenty for only 5.99. The thing I loved about the Mediterranean pizza is that they didn't skimp on the toppings. It was loaded with the right amount of feta, spinach, tomatoes and artichokes. I lived down the street from Crust! before they moved into the area and on a recent visit back to the neighborhood I checked them out because of a coworker's high praise. Gotta say the praise is well deserved. The pizza is really good. Lots of flavor and the crust is perfection. Hence the name, I suppose. Just had some amazing pizza at Crust! Cafe and Pizzeria! That was very surprising for this NJ native. I was so pleasantly surprised about how tasty it was. The crust was crisp and chewy. The sauce was tart and sweet. The cheese blend was to die for. I'd have to say that this is now one of my favorite pizzas. We had a Meatball Supreme pizza and a Margarita pizza. The meatballs were thinly sliced and so was the pepperoni. This was perfect and made the edges of the pepperoni crisp up. The toppings were plentiful on both pizza, but did not make the crust soggy. Ok... a friend of my Mother-in-law said this was the place to go. We ordered a large 4-Cheese and a Balboa. Let me be honest: I've been lucky enough to travel the world and have kept a list of Best Pizza for over 20 years. I'm very picky and by now really can spot quality when I taste it. The Balboa, after the first 1/2 slice, was easily in my Top 3... and for me, that's really saying a lot. The sausage is perfect; not too savory, which complements the bacon and pepperoni just right. The cheeses melted just right and held the generous toppings together. The slice was oily but not too greasy. The crust is golden and sprinkled with cheese. I can't really say enough about this pizza. We also loved the 4-Cheese and the bread knots... but that Balboa will have me coming back every time I'm back in the Burgh. read more

I moved to the area and was recommended Crust by a coworker. Called in a takeout order Friday night. Customer service was good. Wait time was about 45-50 mins which was to be expected for a weekend. Food looked bomb. We were very excited to try. The bread bites are a must! They are not heavy. The bites are bite size and airy. Steak wedgie was HUGE. It was very delicious and cooked grest- crispy outside. The pizza unfortunately was not cooked on the bottom so when you picked the pizza up it was a floppy mess. The crust was cooked but not bottom the cheese wasn't very melted either. We had to bake our pizza and who wants to do that after waiting 50 mins- not me. I would definitely try again and maybe ask for the pizza to be cooked for extra time or maybe not order on a Friday? Not sure what the issue was but hopefully our next pizza order will be better. read more

It's great giving a review for good food, but even better when the food is great and the customer service is just as great. I've been to crust a few times for take out and have tried both the take and bakes and the pizzas they cook for you. The take and bakes are super easy to make in your oven and the directions are very clear. They also provide the Parmesan butter spread for the crust which makes the take and bake just as good as a regular take out. My personal favorite pizza is the BBQ Chix Pizza which comes on the house crust, has a lot but not too much bbq sauce, and then plenty of chicken, onion, and bacon. One of the best bbq chicken pizzas I've had it has tons of toppings but not overkill. The other day we ordered a bbq chicken pizza and they misheard the order and made a buffalo chicken pizza instead. After I spoke to them they immediately responded by making a bbq chicken pizza for me and allowed me to take the buffalo chicken pizza without hesitation! Their staff is always very friendly and accommodating and to be honest it worked out great because I love buffalo chicken pizza but it's too spicy for my wife so I got to try another great pizza. The buffalo chicken was again loaded with ranch, buffalo sauce and tons of chicken. Every pizza they make is great and a ton of food! The biggest struggle with going to crust is the size of the parking lot. On Friday and Saturday nights, it can be hard to get in and out of as the lot is small and people are constantly going in for takeout, but that's just a small price to pay for great pizza read more

Finally got the chance the try this place over the weekend. I had heard a lot of great things about Crust. While it was definitely a great experience, it wasn't by any means one of the best pizzas I've had. My wife and I ordered a small pizza, an order of buffalo bread bites, and an order of the regular bread bites. The pizza was just average. It seemed to be a little over cooked and just did not live up to what I expected. I will say the crust of the pizza was delicious. The best part of the order were the bread bites. Only one order would have been enough for us, as the are a half pound each. I liked the buffalo ones best, my wife liked the regular. They had a very strong doughy and garlicky taste which was different than any other type of bread stick or roll I've had. The ranch dressing here ranks up there with the best in the Pittsburgh area. It was a perfect compliment to the bread bites and the pizza crust. read more
