I'm disappointed. First off, called to order a regular white pizza, 14" medium with anchovies. The web site showed $14.99 + $2.00 for additional topping. Well, I was charged $19.14 for that 8 cut pizza. Okay, total bill comes to $24.76 (delivery and tax). Told it would take an hour, it came early...that was nice. Gave the driver an additional tip, he was gracious. Now, I'm not a connoisseur of pizza, but, I was quite disappointed in this one. I've never had a white pizza that had chopped tomatoes. The sardines were less than tasty as though they were rinsed off. The crust was so oily it wasn't baked through completely. The bottom of the box is full of oil. i'm sorry to say, I tried, but when I started the second piece, it was just not up to par. A surprisingly good pizza, pasta, and calzone spot in a low-key location! The food was quite cheap, service was pretty good, food made in a timely manner, and nice flavors. I ordered the small calzone as well as the funnel knots with caramel sauce. First off, their small calzone is not small at all. In fact, it's an excellent deal for a $12 calzone and is filled perfectly. I tried the plain cheese. There wasn't too much dough, which can often be an issue with some pizza shops. Also, there was a whole lot of cheese. Mozzarella, provolone, and ricotta I believe. The outside was crispy and the inside did not get too soggy. I also liked the tomato sauce it was served with. The food was served warm, even the sauce. A minor set back with the calzone was that it is a bit oily. Since there is a lot of cheese, expect it to be heavy and somewhat greasy. There was some lard or oil on the bottom of the calzone when I picked it up. The funnel knots came in an adequate portion for a fairly reasonable price. The dough itself is homemade, although I doubt the caramel sauce is. Still, it was a pretty tasty way to end the meal. Inside is fluffy, a little crispy on the outside (would have liked more crispiness to the dough), and you get powdered sugar with choice of chocolate or caramel dipping sauce. Overall, it's a nice neighborhood pizza joint. Not the best in Pittsburgh, but if you're looking for good pizza on Route 8, give it a shot. Calzone is good and funnel knots are as well. read more

Finding good pizza in the Pittsburgh suburbs can be a hard task. Milano's has been around since 1975 and they do a pretty good job. They definitely pile on the toppings and have a good crust. In my opinion, the pizza would be better if they added a bit more sauce to their pies. I've tried their Italian and chicken Parmesan hoagies and those were quite good and super affordable. A word to the wise: if you order online, you can't schedule ahead for pickup at a later time. You'll have to call or just submit the online order a bit ahead and hope the timing is right. read more

Quick update on my previous review: I was in town this past weekend and ordered from Milano's to try their gluten free pizza. I went through an app and wasn't able to add any toppings so it was just a plain cheese pizza, but it was fantastic. Today was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered contactless delivery through GrubHub. The delivery driver showed up at my house on time. As I had requested, he placed my food on my front doorstep and rang my doorbell. I went to the door, and from afar he thanked me for my business and wished me a good night. Here are my reviews for the food: Cheese fries - 3 stars - The fries were thick, and the cheese was congealed although it was still warm. I would recommend that they use gooey cheese. Italian hoagie - 4 stars - The meat and vegetables in this sub were fresh, and the bread was toasted and unsoggy. Stromboli - 4 stars - I got to customize the ingredients. I enjoyed the taste of the onion, green peppers, pepperoni, and crust. Traditional pizza - 3 stars - This pizza tasted "OK." The restaurant might be using slices of cheese rather than shredded cheese, and the cheese is not gooey. I recommend that they tweak their recipe a bit. Wings - 4 stars - These wings tasted pretty good. I liked the garlic butter flavor, the crispy outside, and the juicy inside. Overall, this restaurant will not be my go-to pizza place, but I will definitely order from them again in the future for their stromboli, wings, and other items that I have not yet tried. read more

So disappointed for the second time in recent weeks. We began ordering take-out during the Coronavirus outbreak. Our first 2 meals delivered were excellent. That was about 2 months ago. Tonight, for the second time, we have thrown out the Chicken Hoagie. The chopped up chicken was overcooked it was like eating erasers with cheese. Eggplant Parmesan - First, the to-go container top was smashed in with the other items ordered being placed on it in the same bag. As a result, grease all over the inside bag and over everything else in the bag. A lot of breading, some eggplant and again a lot of grease! [blech]. We may keep this and try taking some of the grease off but it's still soggy and not at all appetizing.(what a disappointment because the first time we ordered it was perfect, - crisp fried eggplant covered with a nice sauce and some cheese) Fried Zucchini - We think the problem is either old grease or not hot enough. In the past, we did get a nice order of this, - crisp hot and delicious. The last 2 times, - greasy, soggy blech! This went in the garbage too. The garbage got most of the last 4 meals we had delivered from Milano's Pizza. We are really sad because we had high hopes of a close place to order delivery from. Also, we are out over $60.00 that went into the garbage. I hope Milano's reads their reviews, fixes their issues and makes consistency one of their major goals. Id like to start out by saying that we have loved milano's pizza for the last year and a half but that all changed today. My husband placed an online order for a large half pepperoni, half cheese pizza. Upon arriving home we discovered that the entire pizza was mushroom. We have two little kids who were hungry, so I picked the mushrooms off for them and gave them each piece. My husband and daughter don't like mushroom, so husbabd called the restaurant and asked if a new correct pizza could be made and delivered to our house to make up for the error. We were told that was not store policy to deliver a pizza that was originally scheduled for pickup. My husband was then hung up on by the store manager. I called back and described the situation to the (same) woman on the phone and we were then asked to drive back the original pizza to trade for a new pizza. I told her that we had two little kids who had already started to eat it. After all, they messed the order up and it was written in black and white online. I own a small business and if someone asked me for a refund I would never insult them by asking for the product back. I would just refund them, and then maybe ask what I could do to make the situation right. Not only were we insulted and told to come pick up a new pizza (but deliver back the old one), but the situation was made worse when I asked to speak with the store manager and the woman who had hung up on my husband in the first place told me that she WAS the manager. The best she could do was to offer us 20% off of our next order there. We will not be returning to this restaurant and we won't encourage everyone we know to not do so either. We know a lot of people in the area and I have a ton of local customers who I'll be happy to recommend another place to. I'd rather drive twice as far away to support a local business that cares about its customers and makes orders right when they mess something up. If in fact I was speaking with the store manager (I had the slightest feeling that she was lying, because the store manager would ultimately do what is best to make this situation right), I find it odd that this is the way that business there is conducted. So here's your one star milano's. I wish I could give you zero. Hope you enjoy it - and I bet you'll read this one correctly. read more

We've ordered a lot recently from Milano's Pizza - they make excellent New York style pizza and their hoagies are fantastic. Eating an italian hoagie or calzone, you can tell they are using quality meats and cheese - not your average bulk food service stuff. There's not much space if you want to eat-in, so take-out /delivery is likely a must. You can also order online via the Slice website which adds an extra layer of convenience. I ordered Milanos for the first time ever on a Sunday night. I got the extra large one topping special for $14 that night. It was ready in 20 minutes for pick up. The pizza was hot at pick up. However, the toppings were scarce, the dough was undercooked and thin, and the pizza was so soggy and limp that the cheese and toppings slid right off. It was a greasy mess. The cheese and topping flavor were average, nothing special, nothing stood out. After reading the other positive reviews I was looking forward to good pizza, but that's not what I got.
