I was unfortunately disappointed by Cruz Landscaping. I have a neuromuscular disease that prevents me from standing and walking more than a few feet. I can no longer dead head my roses and some red flowers that make up a hedge. I used to be able to dead head them myself. It used to take me 10-15 minutes a week. I negotiated a price of $175 for service every two weeks with Jose to include dead-heading my flowers so that the flowers would grow back. Otherwise, my front and back yards are dry-scape. The first day they removed 9 yards of old, and nasty black bark. They dug out multiple plants and cleaned up what was left. Day two the team planted 20 new plants, laid down weed block, reworked the drip system and spread 9 yards of beautiful and clean new bark. On top of that, they spread 5 yards of bark in the back yard and cleaned everything up so it was spotless when they were done. I sent out a request to have our front yard aerated, nothing more. (We are DIY types and my husband was going to rent the equipment, but then decided it best to hire out for this job.) I quickly received replies from three businesses. Cruz Landscaping replied first, although other businesses followed up quickly as well. They asked for, and I sent, pictures of the lawn to be aerated. Jose's bid for approximately 950 sq ft of lawn came in at $400. That amount was jaw dropping after receiving approximate bids from other businesses, in the $125-$250 range depending on what needed to be done. Again, we only wanted the lawn aerated. We are familiar with what services and goods cost. I don't mind paying for work, but I do mind being gouged. (Ultimately, we found another business who did the work for $50.
