AD Landscape is hands down one of the best businesses I've worked with for home improvement. I'll be using them as a standard for future work as a home owner. I started quoting for my backyard in Dec 2022 to solve the flooding issues I had, building a pathway out to the front from the back, and do something so that my new puppy has a place to play and use the bathroom. I ghosted Tony and his team in this adventure and came back in January 2023. Tony came in person to measure and talk through different scenarios and offer his advice. I ended up signing off on underground drainpipes to move water away from the backyard & gutters to the front of the house and into the street, extend the cement patio, and put in artificial turf for the puppers. AD Landscape is fantastic. In November 2022 I contacted numerous companies with respect to a drainage issue in my backyard. Every time I would run sprinklers or it would rain I had standing water. I was discouraged at first because multiple people came and looked at the backyard and did not give me the impression they knew exactly what they were talking about. The written estimates were vague and I wasn't sure what exactly they proposed to do. In some cases the estimate never came. But then Tony came out and things changed. Tony spent a significant amount of time with me showing me where the issues were. He even ran water into the existing drainage so I could see exactly what he was talking about. He explained very clearly what he recommended and how the result would be accomplished. I was also interested in putting in some privacy plants/trees and he gave great advice on this as well. I estimate that he spent almost an hour with me. AD landscaping promptly sent a written estimate with a detailed line by line breakdown of the work and the cost for each step. I knew exactly what was being proposed and what it would cost. Once I decided to go ahead with the project it was a no brainer that I would choose AD landscaping. On the first day of the job the crew arrived and Tony was there as well to make sure everything got off to a great start. He also helped me select the exact location for the privacy shrubs/trees. The crew worked for about 7 days and they were great. They were professional, punctual and cleaned up each day. Tony was at the project throughout checking in and making sure it was going well and that I was happy. At the end, I had a brand new drainage system in my backyard along with 11 new privacy plants. I found out quickly how well the drainage system worked when my sprinklers ended up getting stuck and running for hours. To demonstrate how customer service oriented Tony is, I sent him a text at around 9 that evening asking if someone might be able to come check out the sprinklers the next day or so. Tony called me that night! I ended up having AD Landscaping replace my sprinkler valves. I may also have them do some more work in the near future. This was not a cheap project but I know that I got my money's worth and more. The level of service provided by Tony is unsurpassed and I looked forward to talking with him when he was at the project. Following a disastrous experience at my father's 70 year old house (and yard) with an irrigation company my brother had employed, I was recommended to AD Landscape by my father's plumber. From the first call to Alicia in the office, my anxiety was quelled. Tony Jr. met me at my father's house during my next monthly well visit to Sacramento. He performed a thorough inspection, clearly explaining the repairs that were needed. Those repairs were made, as well as installation of a senior-proof web-based sprinkler timer. Since then Tony and his crew have returned for additional irrigation repairs, full backyard clearing of dead and overgrown foliage, for a major tree service (first one in 70 years, I'll bet), for installation of a new back gate, replacement of the irrigation manifold and broken pipes that were creating a lake next to the back of the house, and aerating and seeding of the previously brown backyard. Besides that, Tony and crew have gone above and beyond, performing neighborly favors for my father that no landscaper should be asked to consider. I called AD Landscape in the first week of February 2022 in order to have someone give me an estimate for removing turf in front yard and replacing it with water-wise plants. I was told the first available appt would be six weeks later. I was pretty surprised that it would take that long just for an estimate but this company had good reviews so I said okay. Six weeks later, March 14, Tony, Jr. came to the house and looked at the property. He seemed to be knowledgeable and after asking some questions and doing some measurements, he said he would send me an estimate on March 23. I didn't hear anything on March 23. Finally, I called on March 28 to inquire if there was a problem with my estimate. Jared, who answered the phone, said he was sure that Tony, Jr. was working on it but he would talk to him personally and let him know I called. He also related to me that this was a very busy time so it might take longer. After waiting more than a week since my call on March 28 and not receiving a call back, I called again on April 6. I spoke to Alicia and she said she was surprised but that estimates generally take two weeks. (I was thinking well it's been over 3 weeks since he came out.) Anyway she said she would talk to Tony, Jr. personally and find out what was wrong. Today is April 17 and I never heard from anyone from AD Landscape after March 14, over a month. There was no call to say, I'm really busy right now or something came up and I won't be able to give you an estimate. I've wasted 10 weeks trying to get an estimate!!! So unprofessional!!! read more

Update: They were nice enough to come out again, re-quote me on the work, and made an appointment to come out and finish the weed clearing a few weeks later. After hacking, rototilling, and removing all the weeds in the yard (including the dried, stuck stems in the soil from a trim down earlier this year), they added pre-emergent to the soil and raked it all in - to prevent the next seedlings from germinating as much as possible.
