Manager Molly sounded stressed out when she answered the phone after I called her today to respectfully ask her why the credit card I gave over the phone was charged BEFORE we picked up the scooter and that I was told explicitly by Heather during my initial all with her "we never charge the card until the scooter is picked up from the store," which was today. Molly had no good answer. I then asked her why Teresa wouldn't allow my husband to use his debit card and refund the credit card that they inadvertently charged the scooter to? Molly then lied and said "I never heard him ask her that." She instantly went into defense mode. So I put my husband on the phone with her, and she lied again by saying "I was sitting right behind him when Teresa was helping him and he didn't ask her that question." My husband said "of coarse I asked her that question. You weren't even within hearing distance when Teresa was helping me. You were helping/talking to another customer!" At this point Molly nervously says "well, I stand by Teresa!" She was nasty and argumentative/combative, doubling down on her position rather than simply rectifying the situation. My husband then said to me: "They are both lying and covering each others backs". It was obvious to me as well. Since we already had the scooter, and not wanting my 79 year old husband to drive another two hours there and back to our home, we kept the scooter for the rental period and Molly agreed to crediting the original card and used my husbands debit card to pay for the scooter. No thank you.. no nothing! I normally chock up these bad manners/experiences on "untrained staff" and let it go; but, the owner should know what happened. I own my own retail business, and I don't like being lied to, especially over something that could easily have been handled with an "I'm sorry". I would not shop here ever again. There are other places in the desert that rent scooters. The customer service today, the lying and the problem solving was substandard at best. I won't be recommending At Home Medical to anyone after our experience. (Later tonight). At Home Medical sent to me a copy of my receipts. They charged me $325 for a 4-wheel scooter when I was to be charged $300 for a 3-wheel scooter, WHICH IS WHAT THEY GAVE him. Now, they need to credit my card back $25.00!!! That should be a fun call tomorrow!

They offered plenty of different versions for your need. She asked for my weight and recommended a transport wheelchair. I needed it for the weekend but the shortest rental was one week. Cost $35. To reserve, I must pay over the phone but no obligation if you decide to cancel, you'll get a refund. I came the next day, liked what I saw. It was compact, easily stored in a back of a trunk and the foot rest comes off. The wheelchair width and size was perfect, we stood in many lines and it was slim enough to fit through. The only cons, was that you get what you pay for. I would recommend to upgrade to the next level and get the heavy duty to get stronger wheels. One of the wheels was acting up and kept flickering out of alignment which made it harder to push and annoying. The material also felt cheap. I'm glad the chair withstand the heavy handling of airport personnel. I was happy with the wheelchair service that we came back a week later to rent 2 for my aunt and uncle for a family trip.

I was the one communicating with the owner, Doug, during the visit and he even texted me the receipt directly while I was standing there in the store. Within a day or two, around February 12th, we decided to cancel the order. From that point forward we spent weeks calling and trying to get a refund. On March 12th I texted Doug again regarding the refund. Screenshots of that conversation are included with this review. In those messages he discussed giving a partial refund and repeatedly asked that we remove the review. On Friday March 13th I personally went back to the store and picked up cash from Doug in the amount of $2,355. Even then the full amount was not refunded despite the order being cancelled almost immediately after the purchase. After I posted my original review about the experience, Doug began calling and texting me asking that I delete it. I have included screenshots of those communications so people can see exactly what was said. Doug also replied publicly to my previous review claiming that I was not a customer of the business. That is not accurate. I was present in the store during the purchase, communicated directly with Doug, received the receipt from him by text, and I was the one who returned to the store to collect the refund. I have also included screenshots of the original review that was removed. People rely on reviews when making important decisions, especially when purchasing medical equipment. Because of how this situation was handled and the communication afterward asking that the review be removed, I believe it is important to share my experience so others can make informed decisions. All of the statements in this review reflect my direct experience with this business and the communication I personally had with the owner. Supporting screenshots have been included for transparency.
