Ugii Z. and Lexi J. were our nail technicians who were diligent and professional. I requested Lexi to fixed one splitting nail on one finger. This is my go-to nail place when I'm visiting family. The salon is immaculately clean and their staff are skillfully trained. I've never had a bad mani here. Definitely make an appointment ahead of time-- I usually just call. The staff are courteous and extremely patient. Inside the salon, the bright white furniture is almost blindingly spotless. Pricing is relatively reasonable for East Bay. Sometimes techs do removals for free. Their gel and acrylic sets have been long-lasting and flawlessly done. The pedicure I received was average at best. Service was not warm and although I do not like to talk much the nail tech was also not friendly. I got my lashes done here back in February and I loved them so much! It's been 6 weeks and the retention is still going strong. Over that time, I went on 2 trips, one of them being Hawaii where I went into the ocean multiple times. I got a classic set by Anji. She sat me down for a consultation based on my eye shape and preferences which I really appreciated. It only took 45 minutes (I took a little nap). I also used classpass to book. My friend recommended this place to me for their Soft Gel Nail Extension as an alternative to acrylic. I made an appointment online with Saina because that's who my friend saw. When I got there I was paired with another woman, I knew this because I overheard a woman on the phone in the back address herself as Saina. My nail tech was not the friendliest and didn't even great me when I sat down. We barely spoke the entire time except for when she somewhat aggressively had me switch my hands in the gel machine. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she executed it pretty spot on which was great. It took about 2 hours for my manicure which is the longest I've ever had my nails take. They have one TV inside and it was playing a cheesy RomCon extremely low to the point where it was virtually silent inside the whole time (wish I would've brought headphones!). Once my nails were done, my nail tech didn't even put on hand lotion and give me a hand massage which I thought was strange. It seems like the experience part was lost here and they only care about the finished product. When I was done I was told that it was $75 for the gel extension, an extra $10 for French tip, and another $10 for chrome. I've never paid this much for nails in my life, let alone pay that much extra for chrome. I can understand why they charge extra but the price was too high for me to consider going back. I did receive a 10% off deal since I followed them on Instagram which was nice. Overall my experience was a bit awkward and less luxurious than I would've liked for the price. The ladies inside were polite and nice but did not come off particularly friendly. My nails turned out good but I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Pros: The pedicure was awesome and the girl that did it was super nice and friendly. I like how she took her time and was very detailed. The atmosphere was nice and very clean. She offered me cold water and that was perfect because it's so hot out today! Cons: I wasn't told that gel removal was $10 extra beforehand. I've never been charged additional for removing gel. Had I known that, I may not have chosen this place because that now makes this a $60 pedicure, which in my opinion is too much unless the massage is extra long or there's an extra added. Also, it's always a good idea to let the customer know that there's an extra charge for a service BEFORE doing the service. It's never pleasant to find out right when you're about to pay. She did tell me AFTER while I was paying that if they are removing "their" gel, there's no charge, but again...that should have been told to me prior. I think they could use some brighter gel polishes too. I'm a fan of bright pinks and I got their brightest pink but compared to most places, there wasn't enough variety to choose from. Would I go again? Yes, I'd give them another chance because the actual pedicure was really GOOD if they weren't charging me extra. Definitely NOT worth over $70 for a pedicure. read more

Saw all the great reviews for this fairly new salon. Called to book an appointment and the woman who answered hung up on me as I was speaking, lol! Typically when you call a salon for appointments, they don't say: "we don't have time" and Hang up. I Called back to inquire about additional time slots for today, but they're fully booked. Cost for regular mani pedi is $60. They close at 7:30. They don't seem very service oriented. The phone conversation was enough to deter me from booking a future appointment. ------ Since leaving my review and my perception of the business they have changed their comments below. I did not hang up on them, lol I was still inquiring when they disconnected. Best nail salon!!! Beautiful new nail salon located dt Walnut Creek. I was able to book same day appt on Yelp. Anji was waiting for me upon arrival. They have many nail options to choose from - she recommended soft gel over acrylic that I usually get. What a difference!! Anji is a pro and gave me the shape/length to exactly what I wanted. They have a good color selection with on trend colors and pricing is fair. Maybe better than some of the other nail salons in WC. They have a nice wax lounge I haven't tried that yet. I've had other great experiences with this salon with just pedicures and gel manicures, but I wasn't a fan of my gel x extension experience. I asked for art on my nails, which I know costs extra but unfortunately some of it was a little sloppy and the glue was uneven. I felt like the art wasn't blended well together at times or things were crooked. I know no one is perfect especially when freestyling, but I didn't feel confidence in the artist doing my nails. I paid more than $100 plus tip for these nails and unfortunately they just don't look the best. The price was also not really clear to me, which partially is my fault for not asking. I am happy to pay whatever price, but I just wasn't satisfied with what I paid for the qualify and for feeling rushed during the service. I think this salon does other great services, but this was my personal experience with gel x extensions. read more

On Tuesday, I was in a pinch and decided to try another nail salon due to time a constraint. Boy was that a mistake. By the end of the night, I hated my nails and less than 24 hours later, I made an appt to get them redone at Crystal Beauty Lounge. When you first walk into the salon, you don't get the whiff of chemicals and acetone. The place smells great, it is extremely clean, and has such a warm environment. I made an appt to get my dip manicure removed and a new dip set applied. My appt was at 530 PM, and I was in the chair at 530 PM. My technician, Anji, started off by carefully removing the old set, and asked me what happened. I told her I hated the shape, I hated the color, I hated it all and wanted it all off. I also explained to her I had decided to get a dip manicure because my nails have been breaking constantly and I wanted to have something strong on to help them grow. Anji then suggested I try gel extensions because they weren't as heavy, they do less damage to my real nails, and they're easier to apply and shape; I changed my mind and followed her advice. After removing my old dip powder, Anji gave me a meticulous manicure, carefully put on the new gel tips, shaped them, reshaped them, had me check the shape, and reshaped them to the perfect length and shape. She helped me choose a nude (which I'm not a big fan of, but now I am) and finished up my nails beautifully. I walked out of the salon extremely happy with the outcome. I have been to Crystal Beauty Lounge about 5 times now. I have had a different technician every time, but they all have mastered the craft. They are all kind, they're attentive to the little details, they'll ask you to re-check their work, they will fix it until it's up to the customers standards, and they're pretty quick. They offer beverages, take care of you from beginning to end, and they all remember you. This is my go-to nail salon and always will be as long as I stay in Walnut Creek. read more

I really wanted to give this place a chance since the ladies are so nice but my toe gel pedicure chipped the same day...originally I asked for a different nail design but they did a terrible job (looked nothing like the sample pic I showed her) so I just asked for a regular pink color. When she was removing my gel nails, she was so rough with the nail file that it kept filing my skin. Now my skin is all scratched even thought I repeatedly told her it hurt. I understand she was in a rush cus she had to do my nails over but I was never in so much pain removing gel nails. Also my left nails are chipping the next day as well. I needed a last minute appointment to get my nails done & I received a really quick friendly response from them stating they have open appointments, Right away I made my appointment. When I got there I was greeted & asked if I wanted anything to drink which I thought was a nice gesture. While the salon looks spotless, I started to notice some issues with their hygiene practices. During my last visit, I saw that the towel used for my pedicure was simply folded from the previous customer. When I asked for a new one, the technician seemed baffled but eventually replaced it. Then, my technician took a cuticle cutter and foot scrubber straight from another station's cart - not out of any new packaging. I was too shocked to say anything in the moment, but I regret it because I ended up with a fungal infection a couple of weeks later. The reason I'm giving an extra star is that there's one girl here who does an amazing job with shaping and pedicures. If it weren't for her talent, this review would be much lower. Overall, great nail spot that I've found in the area. It's a clean spot and they take their time in prepping your nails. I'm happy with the shape my pedi & manicure took about 2.5 hours which isn't bad at all. The did put the polish/dip powder all the way to the edges of my nail and cuticle which I was very pleased with. I am very particular with my nails and would come back again, but these are some of the issues that I had. The first was that my skin my cut - the person doing my nails went a bit too hard with the nail file, so my skin became raw, but I just told her to be careful moving forward and she was apologetic and cautious with the alcohol in the area moving forward. The second was that the brush they used had a neon powder or tint to it, so it stained my nail one one side of my hand (I wanted a clear base). She then switched brushed which is why only one hand is stained. I wasn't able to tell in the shop since it wasn't very well lit, but noticed once I got to my car. It's noticeable to me, but I didn't have time to go back in and redo my whole hand. If I did a full color, I don't think this would have mattered. Lastly, the dip is pretty thick on my nails. I think next time I'll request to do one less coat or have them file it down a bit more. read more

This review is long overdue- I've been going to this salon for months for gel and regular pedi/manis after searching for a regular home base for ages (including among all the "high end" salons in the area.) Their number one selling point for me is that they take quality care of your nails and cuticles, taking their time cleaning up and shaping, checking in with you regularly and never getting rough, overfiling/scraping the nail bed, or generally rushing things just to get you out the door- even when it's busy. My nails are healthier than they've ever been as a result. The relaxed atmosphere is great (including ladies that all seem to get along and never sound catty,) which also keeps me coming back. Also a point worth mentioning- the pricing here for gel and regular is really cheap considering the quality of service. The only cons I can cite are that they don't have a ton of color selection compared to some places (though the colors they do have are on trend.) They're not over-chatty or fawning, which I appreciate, but might not be the experience everyone is looking for. I also can't speak to the acrylic or dip services as I personally don't use them. Tuul and Erica are my go-to's (though I've had other ladies there that were quite good), and always do a meticulous job. They're great at doing special artsy requests too! I've converted quite a few friends to this salon from as far as Oakland, so I'd say they're worth giving a shot. read more

I would like to preface this by saying I did really love going to this salon. It's so clean, bright, and relaxing. The ladies are soooo accommodating and nice. Whenever I would need a nail fixed, they would schedule me right away and do it for free. And the services for the most part have been great. My past two manicures were done by Hannah who is new but so lovely and talented. She was the first person whose French tip work exceeded my expectations. But the first time I worked with her, she was a little rough on my fingers (but not unmanageable) and I got a cut on a finger--I didn't think much of it and thought it was a one-off. She also almost didn't fix a French tip that wasn't even and said it was "too late" until I mentioned it to my husband next to me. She had just put the top coat on when I noticed it. It was clear it wasn't even so I was surprised she didn't notice right away. Other than that, it was perfect. The second time I worked with her, I noticed three fingers were cut and one is getting a little puffy. :( It is also a little hard to request for a specific person to work with. My husband had called a couple times to make appointments and nail fixes with specific people, but once we get there, they'd be working on someone already and we'd get someone else. I also tried to do it online and had the same experience. If you're not particular about who does your nails, this isn't much of an issue. I really wanted to love this salon more than I did, because the first impression was great. But the experience gradually declined, unfortunately. The good news is that they graciously squeezed me in on a Sunday, and I was able to come within the hour for a manicure and pedicure. I have not had a manicure in probably five years because my job is very hands-on, but I wanted to treat myself. The two ladies working, Erica and Tuul (sorry if I misspelled that) were sweet and the conversation was nice. Erica was working on another regular client and we all talked with each other. That part made me feel good going in. I also noticed they used sterile packs for the tools, which I had not seen at other places before. Whether or not they were actually sterile, I cannot say for sure (you have to autoclave them, the packs themselves do not necessarily mean sterile), but nonetheless the salon felt very clean and tidy. Tuul was doing my nails and I thought she did a good job on the toes. Just a gel pedi with normal color, nothing fancy. The manicure, however...ugh. I was getting a classic French manicure, no gel because gel has previously destroyed my nails and I just wanted something basic. Everything started out fine, but midway through she asked "Do you want to switch to gel instead? Because it's going to be hard for me to make them look neat." I was honestly really surprised by this because what customer wants to hear that you might not be able to do a good job ? Especially when she had already put the tips on! I felt super awkward and told her I would really rather not switch to gel because of the damage and the increased price. I also did tell her that I wished she had expressed this to me before she started. I've had basic French manis at other places in my life and I've never heard someone say this to me. Erica was sitting right there and deemed the nails to be fine and neat, and told me that Tuul has never done a regular polish French mani, only a gel, and that she feels uncomfortable with the regular polish because of that. Well, awesome. I was disappointed that she sprung it on me that she wasn't totally confident in this process. I would have been far happier if she had said before we started that she wasn't comfortable doing regular polish, and I would have just skipped it entirely. Erica gave me 10% off for this weird encounter which I appreciate. Ultimately I ended up being there from 2pm - 5pm (3 hours) which was longer than I expected, and I had to cancel a workout class because of it (which is my fault for poor planning, but also 3 hours is a long time for a basic mani and pedi). The problem was, my right thumb nail had to be re-done TWICE. The first time was when I was grabbing my purse to move to the dryer because Tuul did not realize I needed help with it. The second time was when I went to pay her, and she told me it was dry when it really wasn't, so again she had to do the nail from scratch. She seemed a little annoyed by this and honestly, so was I, but oh well. Out the door for $90 with tip and the discount, which is pricier than what I've spent before, though not unreasonable. The in-store pricing list has white- out covering all the prices with handwritten prices over the top, meaning they raised the prices and instead of printing a new service list, they just covered over it. Very tacky. They also don't list that the French manicure costs $10 extra - that's fine, but be transparent about that. I read the service list again on the website after I left and nowhere does it tell you how much extra this is. Technically they shouldn't even be charging extra if they don't disclose the price upfront. I probably would only come back here if someone with more experience did my nails. They shouldn't ask a technician to work on people if they aren't sure they'll be able to make it look like what the customer wants. In my work, I don't do something if I feel uneasy about it. A French manicure with regular polish isn't an uncommon or complicated ask, either. The whole thing made the rest of the time there very uncomfortable and awkward silence ensued. It was a big change from how it started. I know the owner is very conscious about her Yelp reviews because she told me, but I have to be honest here. This is not about getting money knocked off or to get free services or anything like that, I just wanted to share my actual experience and honest feedback for them because it was worth noting. read more
