Loved this nail spa!!! I was in downtown Walnut Creek at the Broadway Plaza and in need of a pedicure. My girlfriend and I found this spot a couple of blocks away and stopped to try it, and it did not disappoint! Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and our nail technicians were extremely attentive. The place is spacious, and even with a lot of customers they were able to fit us in immediately. There are couches and beautiful chandeliers, which really gave it a "lounge" feel. I had a Gel X appointment at The Lounge Nail Spa in Walnut Creek on October 25th at 5 PM. I came in with natural nails (no removal needed) and showed the nail tech a photo of the exact design I wanted: a chocolate brown chrome look. She looked at the picture and said "okay," so I assumed she understood and had the materials. As the service started, I noticed she was applying the Gel X nails without buffing the inside of the tips before adhering them to my natural nails, something every other nail tech I've gone to has always done for proper bonding. I didn't say anything at the time, but it immediately raised a red flag. When she began painting she asked if I liked the brown color. I told her I'd know once the chrome was applied, only for her to suddenly say "We don't have chrome." I was shocked since I had clearly mentioned chrome and shown a photo when I first sat down. I told her she should have said that upfront before starting. She then changed her story, saying chrome would "change the color," which was fine with me because that's exactly what I wanted. After I insisted, she finally pulled out a chrome powder, applied it to one nail, and it looked perfect-proving they did have it all along. The entire exchange felt dishonest and frustrating. When it came time to pay, another woman at the counter asked me before I even handed her my card if I wanted to add a tip. I found that pushy and uncomfortable, especially since the service was mediocre. I still chose to tip $10 in cash on top of the $80 service, but I really shouldn't have felt pressured to do so. Just a few days later, on October 29th, my left pinky nail completely popped off, the entire Gel X nail lifted cleanly, as if it were a press-on. I went back the next day to have it fixed, and the new tech fixed it and cleaned up the excess gel that was left underneath from the previous application. This morning, my left pointer nail came off completely while driving. Again, no impact or trauma. The adhesion and prep were clearly done incorrectly. I've been getting Gel X nails for over five years, and they have never lifted or fallen off like this. Between the misleading service, poor prep work, and nails popping off within days, I can confidently say this was not worth the $90 I spent. I've attached photos showing the issue for transparency. I won't be returning and can't recommend this salon for Gel X. read more

I rarely treat myself to self-care, but over Presidents' Day weekend my friend and I booked pedicures here because other salons in the Tri-Valley were full. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable from the start. When I arrived, no one initially greeted me. A woman who appeared to be the owner asked her young daughter to assist me instead. Before my service began, I politely asked if there was a quiet space I could use for less than five minutes to complete my evening prayer. The daughter kindly showed me to a back room. While I was praying, several staff members began loudly yelling (in Vietnamese) about me being there. One employee opened the door abruptly to grab a jacket, nearly hitting me. Shortly after, the owner was aggressively knocking on the door. The situation felt chaotic and disruptive. When I returned to my seat, the owner told me customers were not allowed in back rooms and said her daughter was "just a kid." This was confusing, as she had directed her daughter to assist customers in the first place. I felt blamed for something I had respectfully asked about. The pedicure itself was rushed (about 20 minutes), and when I went to pay, I was asked if I wanted to tip despite the uncomfortable experience. I left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome for simply practicing my faith for a few minutes. No apologies were given whatsoever. Instead, I was apologizing to the daughter because she got in trouble. Businesses in 2026 should prioritize basic cultural awareness and respectful treatment of all customers. I will not be returning. read more

This was my third and last time I ever go to the Lounge salon. The fees are ridiculously overpriced compared to a year ago. Also, very poor service from the nail technician I had who was very unpleasant and rude! I had a morning appointment for an acrylic full set. I had to wait a few minutes in the front/main room to be seen by a nail tech which I didn't mind. Then, an older rotund woman walked into the salon and she seemed to be in such a hurry. I could tell her vibe and energy was off when she asked me to go to the back room and sit in the waiting area. Then, when I finally sat down at her station, the nail tech began working on my nails very quickly and sped through the whole process. She had a negative attitude and would repeatedly ask me in an arrogant manner, "Are you ok?" almost every time she roughly tugged on each of my fingers to file my nails. The salon wasn't even busy with customers waiting so I'm not sure why she was working so hastily? Then, while roughly filing my nails, she had the audacity to blame me for dropping her nail buffer on the floor and say to me that my fingers were in the way. The disrespect was too much! I really wanted to like this place. It was my second time coming here. I got a pedicure and an acrylic fill. I asked for a design on my acrylics. My pedicure was ok, however, I always feel it's rushed even when it's slow. I unfortunately, did not like my nail design that was done, so I asked if they could remove it and just do the color I asked for. When I checked out I noticed they charged me $60 for the acrylic fill, but I was already in the car at this time. I called to get clarification just so I knew and she told me it was $60 because I got a design. I told her I didn't get one and it was removed. She then changed it to saying it was because I got a gel color. I told her that the prices they show includes gel and it should've been $50. She kept insisting it was because of the gel color even though in the beginning she had told me it was because of the design. I don't mind paying a price if that's what it is, but I don't appreciate being lied to or taken advantage of. I went in to celebrate my friend's birthday with 10 girlfriends. I requested the acrylic nails with gel on top. I wanted short nails with almond shape unfortunately she made them too short. The tech who was working on my nails literally took 20 min. She didn't cut my cuticles, she didn't apply the gel nail polish correctly; my nails look sloppy and uneven. This was $60 plus tip.
