2 experiences with Crystal Clear Pools. 1. They did a sufficient job on a pump replacement in a rental home. For that I would have given 4 stars. 2. Following the first service, I hired them for long term maintenance for our house. They did a pitiful job on DE Filter service and routine cleaning. * First it took them over a month to get us started up. * They do not communicate with you through a service or repair. Specifically, we had a DE screen with a tear. They said the cost to replace all screens was beneficial over a single screen. I agreed and asked that they leave behind the old screens so that I would have spares in the future. * The old parts were not left behind. * The service manager (Gil) did not even reply to my inquiry about this. * The pool continued to fill with DE for 2+ more weeks. * Customer service will not reply to my inquiries about how to resolve. * Techs randomly show up at my house (I work from home so I was aware) without n notice. * The invoice was over the quoted price (and this was after 2 techs visited our home and knew what equipment we had) Based on the first experience with the rental home, I think these guys are technically capable. However, based on their lack of response and poor service I have moved on to another company. read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS, DONT USE THIS COMPANY!! Crystal Clear Pools cleaner Chris was at our house cleaning the pool and left the gate to our backyard open. After speaking to several other pool companies, they all agreed that this is the most important job of any pool company! My wife and kids were hysterical for an hour and a half of looking but we finally found our 5 month old puppies about a quarter mile from our home. I called Crystal Clear to let them know what had happened and since it was after hours, I had to leave a message. The next day I didn't receive a call from anyone checking on the puppies or to see if we even found them. I finally called them at 10:30 when I was transferred to a managers voicemail. Christian finally called me back with very little concern or care about the issue. He had many calls to return that morning and even though he had gotten my message earlier that morning, he hadn't worried enough to warrant a phone call. I am firing this company and I suggest you do the same if you care about you pets and family members. Thank god the dogs were safe and that none of the neighborhood kids wandered over into our pool. read more

We were in the need to have our Pool Resurfaced and really didn't know who to use since we just moved here. We reached out to several Pool Construction companies to get bids and try to see who would be best to use. After several bids, we chose to use Crystal Clear Pools but were still a little concerned. However, as the pool was being prepared for the resurfacing I was texting Cris, who was our salesperson, and he always provided a fast and well detailed explanation on what was going on with the resurfacing. Thus, as time went on my concerns were gone and I started asking Cris his opinion on pool water heaters, slides, etc. and he provided the best advice. In fact, in some cases I was almost sold on the item and/or additional work but Cris was honest and advised against the work, thereby, taking work and/or money from him. Thus, since Cris was very honest and provided great advice I moved my weekly pool service to Crystal Clear Pools and have been totally happy about the move. We have Mike Young as our weekly pool cleaner and he is great. A perfectionist and a very nice guy. He has also provided Great Advice and does an excellent job. One other comment - Dan is another great crystal clear pool employee. He came out and work on our pool pumping and not only did a great job but provided suggestions to improve the water flow and made those changes. What a Great Company!!!! read more

Incompetent and inconsiderate. I called these folks to fix a leak in my pool. When I finally got someone to come out they spent about 30 minutes finding and 'fixing' my leak. I added water and watched as my pool continued to leak. Four times they said they would come out to fix it and never did. Each time not only did they not show up but they didn't even bother to call and tell me they weren't coming. I stayed home from work and waited but they never showed. Each time I called them and they said they would be out 'tomorrow'. After the 4th time I told them to forget it I'm calling someone else. read more

Jimmy and his crew have been our "go to guys" for pool repairs for many years. They're responsive, responsible and honest. I'm not sure what to think of the negative reviews. This has not been our experience with them. read more

I switched to Crystal Clear Pools in hopes for better service. During the first month, they kept the chlorine, water balance way too high, I measured it myself every time. There was a mechanical part that seemed to be broken but they did not attempt to fix it until I called and had to be tough with them on the phone. They did hang up on me while on the phone as well. I hesitated to Hire Crystal Clear Pools due so some of the less than favorable reveiws. BUT this is my experience. " I hired Crystal Clear to give me pool school. I was having a hard time finding someone to come out to my house because I live in Cedar Creek and the other people I had helping me kept on not showing up and did not seem to know how to fix things or set the systems up right. Dan came out and He was excellent. He explained how to take care of my pool very clearly with full explanations (I do have a salt water pool that the other people had installed but it never seemed to work correctly and the setting on the control panel never seemed to work right ). he did NOT try and sell me anything extra. This is an update to my previous review:...Renovation of the pool was great but less than a year later their service tech damaged the plaster surface (with calcium chloride-based shock according to one of their supervisors) and now what was a gorgeous white surface now has a gigantic ugly grey/brown stain that will not respond to application of de-scaler treatments...Their office staff has blamed everything but over application of the shock they use and seems to think that the presence of the stain is not a matter for warranty work... The service tech responsible for the damage has anger management issues that he revealed in the pool area and his actions have been reported to the Sheriff... read more

It's interesting to read the reviews because I have been using Crystal Clear for 2 years as my pool service and they are always there when scheduled, always polite, and let me know when my filter needs to be cleaned. They have filled my pool when needed and drained it some when we've had a lot of rain. We used them to resurface the pool and they did a great job. read more

They pulled out one leaf from a filter and charged us $90 just to come out last Spring. This Spring 2014, I called on Monday, 3/4 and the person told me someone would be out the next day. By 2pm, no one had called or shown up. So I called and asked if someone was coming out. He said they got a late start due to the ice storm on Tues 3/4, so I was fine with that and he said someone would be out today Well, no one has called and I have decided to go with another company with a better rating on Yelp. I wish every big project could go this well! We had our old Gary pool completely renovated and are ecstatic with the results! From start to finish, Rene walked us through every step and made sure we were happy along the way. He was personable and professional, always available when we had questions. The crew showed up everyday on time and the work they did was amazing. We also had the steps widened quite a bit and it looks better than we imagined. We needed to have our pool re-tiled and re-plastered and we chose Crystal Clear Pools and it was the right decision! Their team did a fabulous job re-tiling the pool and spa and then they also re-plastered the pool and spa areas. The work was beautiful, they were on time, the cost estimated was what the final cost was so no surprise there. We worked closely with Jarrett at Crystal Clear Pools and he was always helpful, responsive and patient with us as we made decisions on both the tile and the color of plaster. Crystal Clear resurfaced my pool and installed a new Polaris cleaner and pump for me this spring. Had a few hiccups along the way, but they were always responsive and would resolve. One thing that may help others is that they subcontract to H&H Plaster for the actual new plaster work, and they showed up at 6 AM to start the job. Had been advised they would be there in the morning, but I sure didn't expect 6 AM. Wasn't a big fan of the H&H crew, nor the tech that did the Polaris install, but the Crystal Clear guys that did the actual renovation were great and I would use them again...though I hope I don't have to of course. read more

Out of sight out of mind. We have hard water in our area and Adolpho keeps our pool chemicals right where they should be. We travel a bunch so it is a comfort to know the pool is under good care when we are gone. Crystal Clear has also been very responsive and quick in servicing any equipment that malfunctions. While cleaning pool filters may not be a glamorous - Cameron was upbeat and professional. After my experiences I WOULD NOT recommend using them if you don't want to be lied to and overcharged. I'm a very trusting person and allowed them to service and do many repairs at more than one home that I have. At first, everything seemed ok and straight forward enough. It was only after I compared prices and recommendations of required (or not) services from other well know pool companies that I found that Crystal Clear Pools is not trustworthy from my experiences! Please be wary of this company. They tried to charge us over $500 to repair a part that not even broken! Not only that, they removed the pressure switch from the heater and just left it there lying on the ground. They took advantage that we were new pool owners and we came THIS CLOSE to being taken. Luckily we got a 2nd opinion and the repair ended up costing only a $60 service call. read more

I'm absolutely shocked at the previous reviews, mostly posted in 2013. I recently called Crystal Clear Pools to have them provide a quote for re-plumbing and re-wiring our pool pump. They were absolutely incredible. The Service Estimator came the day after I called and provided us an in-person quote. Talk about fast service. Then after his excellent review of the equipment, he provided a quote that not only was a great price point, but the quote was delivered the very next day. He then scheduled the work within three days of the quote. The plumber/electrician was courteous and excellent at his trade/profession. He knew at every single turn exactly what needed to be done, informed me when there were issues that needed to be addressed, and provided several different price and product alternatives to a couple of issues that came up with the electrical work. Will not use them again. The service tech was extremely rude and uncommunicative. Stomped around mad the whole time and told me the repair he was sent to do was not going to solve the problem. I am glad this got nipped in the bud before I invested any more time or money in this company. I never got past the initial quote process because they didn't bother to show up or call during the appointed hour. I wasted 2 hours of vacation time from work to wait on Rene, who couldn't be bothered to let me know he was running a few hours late. Called the home office 2 hours after the scheduled appointment and they finally said he'd be in touch shortly. I said I'd be posting a negative review and the home office didn't try to see if they could come back out at, perhaps, a convenient time for me now that they'd missed it. This pool company ignores all city rules on draining and backwash into neighbors yards. We have very nicely asked the company to stop draining their pool into our yard and they just tell us to call the police and hang up on us. I have refrained from calling the city until they totally ignored us. The chlorine in the pool water and salts buildup kills trees, etc., especially fruit trees. They have killed two of ours. read more

Crystal Clear has taken care of our pools for 10 years. They built the custom pool at our new home last year. I love them. The owner, Jimmy, is fabulous and he hires great people. Our pool chemistry is currently maintained by Adolfo Carbajal. I really can't say enough nice things about him. He is a pool whisperer. Takes great care of our pool. Very reliable, always gives me a call when he is on his way over, takes time to answer any questions I have, fixes little things so we can head off big things. I have been a client of Crystal Clear Pools for 20 years and have found them to be a very reliable, professional company. Any call I've made has been answered promptly and efficiently. This season Travis uncovered and serviced my pool in record time and I was able to quickly begin to exercise and enjoy it without any problems. The technician always comes on my scheduled day and keeps the pool maintained and cleaned without any problems for me. There have been times when I had a leak or equipment problem but these were attended to very quickly and to my full satisfaction. I moved and used them for my pool inspection so when I moved in I asked for pool service. Bottom line they charged over $180 for the one time service and while it did get the pool clean they never checked the filter and pushed a $45 weekly service. When my pool turned green within 8 days I asked for help and the reply was another $180 and I really should do the weekly service. At that point I went to Leslie and was recommended I have the filter checked which turned out to be a disaster. Needless to say I do not think Crystal Clear is a good choice. IMO, hiring them was a $600 waste of money. Coming from out of town I looked at their website guarantee of 100 percent customer satisfaction and based on my experience and other Yelp reviews I would think hard before using them. read more

Let's be fair. These guys are not the cheapest pool folks out there. But they cost more for a reason. They are really, really good. Mike Young keeps our pool crystalline and the water chemistry perfect - that's a real challenge since our pool is overhung by both oak and palm trees. Oak tassel, acorns, leaves, and palm pollen all present significant challenges, but the pool always looks good. Crystal Clear rebuilt our "tired" pool when we bought the house. All I can say is that the difference between "before" and "after." Is remarkable. AND the pool had nominally been "carefully maintained" by another pool company. The front office is responsive and technicians have been prompt and knowledgeable. We're happy. read more

Cris Baird took time out of an extremely busy day, during the busiest time of the year for pool builders, to come out, to review our needs for a new system, for our spa/pool combo. We added two separate vessels, allowing us to independently control the temperature in the spa, from the pool & vice versa. Not only did he stay on budget 100%, he stayed on schedule even when we threw him a couple of curve balls due to our home automation needs, which we needed the pool/spa systems, to connect to. The job site was kept very clean, throughout the install. In addition, Cris and his team at Crystal Clear construction, were on standby for us, for a few days after completion of the project, as we had a large Memorial Day event, which required the pool and spa, to work, without any issues. Our property is a high end property in the eight digits, and I'm so impressed with the level of expertise and care given during this project, that I've just hired them to do our spa remodel!! read more

Have been using them for the past year with decent service up until now. Had a pump go out a month ago, they replaced it ($1000), a week later it goes out again. Its now been 10 days, I've called them 4 times each time they say someone will be out that day to fix it.. My pool is thick with algae and trash, it will take at least a week to get it back useable IF they ever get it fixed. read more

Best pool company by a thousand miles! Chris Baird is a completely straight shooter and does exactly what he says he will do. He is one of the most honest contractors we have had work on our property in 36 years of business. Chris showed up as promised, ALL through our entire project; he managed every detail and made sure each stage of the project was precisely accomplished - ON TIME. Crystal Clear does not contract out work to other sub-contractors; their pool experts are their own employees and have learned Chris' expectation for perfection. Our project required demolition of everything other than the pool tub, replacement of all underground plumbing, expansion and replacement of the deck surface, new plaster, tile, new equipment; and we have not one complaint. Chris is extremely personable; and, by the end of our project, we had so much respect and appreciation for his personal management of our pool renovation, that we consider him a friend. Chris goes beyond expectations and finds ways to add value or "give" where he can; our only regret is we don't have the option to give his company ten stars! read more

Beware of this company. Firstly, their work is shoddy and they don't even pickup after themselves. I had hired them previously and was angered by the mess they left behind. I somewhat reluctantly rehired them to replace the pump motor. Inspecting the work, I discovered that the pump had not been put back together correctly and it was leaking badly. They did finally come back to fix their shoddy work. This is two times I have been disillusioned with their work and there won't be a third time. read more
