I have been buying windows for my customers for years and I always enjoy buying windows from Crystal Windows because of my sales rep Paul Kim, Robert Dorsky & Howard Tai. They are always responsive, knowledgeable and courteous to say the least. Crystal Windows has always had my back when I needed warranty calls to be done. They are on time and professional. The after service Ryan Lin is the best with following up and keeping customers updated. It's always a treat to walk thru Crystal and seeing the owners Thomas & Steve working hand & hand with their staff as if this was a mom and pop operation (I believe they are a nation wide operations with multiple factories according to the pictures on the walls). Great product. Poor customer service. The customer experience is marred by several critical issues. Firstly, poor communication plagues the company, characterized by a lack of clear and consistent messaging and frustrating delays in responsiveness. Secondly, there are instances of ineffective problem resolution, exemplified by a situation where my assigned salesman resigned, resulting in my expensive order slipping through the cracks. Consequently, my order arrived a staggering 30 days after my contractor had completed my window replacement, leading to inconsistencies and a profound sense of frustration as my expectations were not met. Lastly, the lack of personalization in the customer experience further exacerbated my dissatisfaction, as I did not feel valued or recognized as a valuable. There's more . One of the parts on one door (untouched since delivery) was defective. You only find that out AFTER installation of course. Crystal charged $75 for that. Even better, the rail that the door slides across is unstable. I'm seriously disappointed. What ever happened to quality? Crystal Window & Door Systems provided new windows for my apartment that had been smashed in by fire fighters. 3 years later, the seal has broken on them, moisture got in there and they are ruined. Same problem for my neighbors. The glazier who replaced them noted the glue seal was cheap and cost saving, and that patch work suggested someone knew there was a problem and did a poor job trying to fix it. When they were challenged on it, Crystal Windows refused to do anything, taking the position that the windows are out of warranty. I'm no lawyer and can't fairly comment on this part, but my understanding is that they are relying on a commercial property warranty rather than a residential warranty because it's an 81 unit coop in New York City. I don't think it should matter! The bottom line is Crystal Windows cut corners and provided cheap, crappy, defective replacement windows to people who had their homes lost in a fire and were trying to rebuild their lives, and then refused to take any responsibility for it. I had a bad experience the second time around.The Sales representative, Max Kang was untrained, he ordered double windows when I specifically emailed exactly what I wanted and spoke with him several times. Because, I signed off on the quote, (which had a small 2 in the corner) they will not provide a refund. I even questioned the price, because it seemed so expensive but he just stated that is the price! Will never use this company again!! Your response is untrue the quantity was not stated several times on the quote it was stated several times on the purchase order which is after the fact, the quote should be as clear as the purchase order. Just after a few years of installation back in 2001, their windows are all having condensation inside the glass and outside the frame. When they installed a manufactured detective window the will not replace it with one you can open. If I close it completely I struggle to open it, so I placed a wooden board so it doesn't close completely. My heat goes out the slightly open window, what a waste of money. It has everything to do with the substandard and cheap quality of your windows which have disintegrated within just a few years of its installation, consequently eating away at my home's value through lost money for cooling, heating, and poor aesthetics. The representative who works in Parts/Repair department sounds miserable here. Placed an order 3 months ago and the representative who pick up the phone are son unprofessional. When the representative from the Parts/Repair department picks up the phone he does not greet you at all. He puts you on hold without saying anything and hangs up without saying anything. I didn't know they hired a mute to pick up phone calls. No apologies for the delay and no communication regarding my delivery. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you still have self-dignity. If I were the representative, I wouldn't want my family members to be treated the same disrespectful way he treats customers. If you don't like your job then quit or find another job. Customer service is not for everyone. Maybe take a class or two on how to communicate on the phone. It helps. read more

My friends referred me to Crystal Windows as I was looking for a small window for my bathroom. There was no one in the showroom except for my wife and I and 3 employees working behind sneeze guard windows. One of the employees directed us to the two rows of window samples on the first floor and she said that is all they have. She told us that one isle are aluminum windows and the other are vinyl. We liked one style so we took a picture of it and any identifying information she would need to locate it in their computer system. When we asked her for a price she asked us for the size of the floor sample window. I responded that the pic. has any model number or identifying numbers she needs. She didn't respond right away so I did see tape measures on the table behind them so I asked her can I borrow a tape measure? She gave me the tape measure and I'm not sure why i stayed and measured the damn thing. She gave us a printed price and we walked out. Not a good practice to have the customers figure out what the size of a floor model window is. I thought a salesperson was supposed to sell you something. SO- My mistake. I should have gone with the window guys that did my husbands house. the windows themselves were ok. They gave me an installer in the bronx. They said the order would take approximately 8 weeks. it was 6 weeks. Then the installer wanted to store them in my garage until we could be here for the installation. - We could not. He did the installation with on other individual. and - I am STILL waiting for him to fix one window. There isn't a window without a scratch or scuff or in need of a touch up paint. He left dust dirt and the stickers all over the inside and outside the house. I will say my husbands team of window guys came with a team one to pull out one to install another to clean then another to clean window. I went to Faithful windows in Flushing College Points Blvd and purchased Crystal windows and had all my 2nd floor windows replaced in 2007. The contractor did a horrible job, not well aligned, poor insulation and after 4 years the windows started showing mold and condensation inside the glass and outside the frame. In the winter the windows drips water from condensation. Some windows cannot even be locked or open/close properly now. Im very dissatisfied and disappointed with this brand. I'm seriously thinking about replacing them now with a better quality ones. Please save you money and get a more reputable brand. Crystal windows are cheaply made. read more

I have these windows in my home. They are horrible. Every window has so much draft coming through them, they have dried up gas stains on the inside, and condensation is forming on the inside. Absolutely terrible looking windows. The windows were very roughly made. The windows I got are far cries from the ones I saw in their showroom. Adding insult to the injury, Crystal recommended 'NY Windows Guys Inc', a.k.a Tony Windowguy on the FB to perform the installation, and the guy was a complete scoundrel. He installed the brand new window right on top my old window frame, so now I ended up with a bird-sized window with super thick frames. And he didn't even finish the installation. Crystal offered to help after I wrote a review about the abysmal services I received from this 'Tony Windowguy', so the guy showed up and told me that he can fix them for me, but don't call him if the windows start to leak. I showed him the door. Crystal is cheap for a reason. For a large investment like windows replacement, go with someone reputable. I'm replacing all mine with Marvin Windows. read more

The worst! The customer service it terrible. They made many errors which has delayed construction several weeks. They also delivered windows 3 hrs late and said that they would put the windows on the side of the home and instead they placed the windows on the curb and people thought they were for free and tried to take them. I live in the Chicagoland suburbs and when I bought my house years ago I was referred by someone and that was the worst thing ever. After only a few years all the windows I spent thousands on have deteriorated with moisture/fog in between the window panes, rubber seals breaking apart between the glass and just very inferior product. I had referred my parents to them shortly after regrettably going with their company and after only 4-5 years their very expensive large living room bow windows were completely falling apart with the same issues. I paid in full, and get this, Crystal Windows charging me an additional 2% fee, if I use my credit card. So they pass that fee on to us, the customers. Ridiculous coming from a huge window company, they pay no fee, charge tax on credit cards and on cash,( which is fine, but whats with the fee?) then they said if I pay cash they will give me a small discount. Thought were going to get a great product with the warranty that they offered which was similar to competitor windows. However, as good as they were initially 2-3 of them developed fogging issues. Warranty magically disappeared. It took forever to get replacements and when quoted for shipping costs got one price and then quote double after being forever delayed. I went in to their office today about a problem I was having with one of my windows (installed in 2002). I explained the issue to Jamie and asked about having someone come to my house to fix it. She took the time to show me what the problem was and told me how I could try to fix it myself. I'm not at all handy so I had several questions, which she patiently answered. These are the worst windows ever!!!! 6 months after having them, I had 6 windows crack. Got the glass replaced under the warranty, which was a hassle. They all have drafts as well. You can see the gaps. Now I have more glass that is cracked/shattered. I am currently up to 8 windows that are broken..... Lasi night I was sitting in my living room and it sounded like a rock was thrown through my window. NOPE, it was the inside pane of one of the windows shattering glass all over!!!! These Crystal windows have been a nightmare for my family. During the winter, it LEAKS a lot of cold freezing air because they're not properly sealed. I purchased these cheap aluminum windows from 10/2004 and regret that I have ever spent. Attached is a picture of my top window after being cleaned outside and inside. The inside is all fogged up. So, this is PROOF that these cheap windows are leaking air into it and causing it to fog up from the inside. A couple of my other windows, the bottom ones started to rust from the inside out. A few years ago, the ballasts keep snapping out so you couldn't keep the windows open. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to replace these pieces of garbage windows with the Andersen windows. read more

Lori W.-- 1 star I purchased 7 double hung Crystal windows in 2009. Every single one has gone bad. The top portion of each window has fogged terribly. I live in Virginia Beach, VA and there no longer is a Crystal distributor in my area. My windows have been discontinued, so after jumping through hoops for Crystal by sending them photos of each fogged window and photos of the stickers inside each window, Crystal agreed to send me 7 new windows but charge me $980.00 for shipping. To save myself the EXORBITANT shipping charges I asked if I could pick up the windows at one of their distribution centers in northern Va. and I was told that was not possible. I then asked if they would reimburse me for the 7 windows so that I could purchase windows locally. They agreed to reimburse me $800.00 for 7 windows (the price they quoted to manufacture 7 new windows) which I agreed to. Then they changed their tune and said it would not cost them that much to manufacture my windows and they would get back to me with a new lower amount. I said I agreed to $800.00, that is the amount that I want. Since then they have discontinued ALL contact with me. By the way, my communication with Crystal has been ongoing since April 21, 2015. I have been communicating with Steven Yu during this time. Crystal's customer service is beyond awful and their products are inferior. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Dept. of Consumer Affairs and Crystal has not responded to them. My advice to consumers is BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I would NEVER recommend this company in a million years!!!!!I If I could rate them ZERO stars I would. read more
