Here is why we love our windows. 1. Met with Marc Cohen who took measurements, answered our questions. He was very professional and helpful. 2. The windows were installed within the time frame provided which we really were desperate for. We bought the top of the line glass (3 options) as we live in the financial district (in an old building where our old windows cannot itself be replaced) where the old Symms building across the street is under construction being replaced by a new residential tower as well as the MTA working from 10Pm until 5AM on storm proofing the grates above the 1 train. It has been incredibly noisy disrupting our families sleep. However, not the first night our windows were installed! We were so impressed. You can open up the windows and get a sense of just the amount of sound it is helping drown out. These windows bring a piece of mind no matter what heavy machinery is being used across the street or the trucks parked outside late at night for the work that takes place. Keep in mind nothing is ever 100% soundproofed but these are perfect for us. It was worth the investment (yes unfortunate that it is expensive). 3. Installation went well. We had 4 people here installing 3 windows which took about 4 hours. The windows sit on the outside of the old windows so actually makes the window area look a lot nicer. We were concerned it would take away what little light we get but not at all. Feel like it makes the window look a little bigger. Here is the bonus too; the windows are incredible for insulation. We do not have to use the AC or lately the heat as we have had to pre-soundproof windows bc our older windows produced a big draft. Also, all of the construction debris across the street is not getting into the apartment but settling in between the old window and the new. Cityproof Window are the Most Effective Noise Control on the market! I had Cityproof windows in my old apartment for decades and when I was planning my move the first thing I did was contact Cityproof windows for a new installation, because they are totally AWESOME! My new apartment faces the street and between trucks, ambulances and a public grade school, it was pretty noisy. My Cityproof windows have rendered my new apartment completely quiet and with perfect temperature control. I haven't been disturbed by street noise, trucks rolling though, loud motorcycles, car alarms, kids screaming during recess or the sound of fire truck or ambulance sirens. These Windows live up to the marketing. I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase through Cityproof Windows. I live in Manhattan and I have three very large windows facing the street where Karaoke bar noise goes on from 10pm-3am on weekends. It's not so much the music as it is people, cars, and other street noise. Once these windows were installed, it cut the noise out completely, it's like a recording studio now. We worked with Michael Dameli to ensure the measurements would fit, he took his time and came back several times to ensure everything would fit. We had to do a bit of work on the sill with another contractor to extend our sill frame because I wanted to put silhouette blinds between the original window and the Cityproof windows (which by the way is a very clean way to go). The installation went smoothly and they were in and out within 90 minutes with three very large windows. The existing windows can be opened easily and tilted in, there is no obstruction between the new and original windows. I took before and after pictures and the building board couldn't tell the difference. I went with 7/8" insulated starphire glass with a white enamel frame that fit the existing apartment. I ran an air conditioner this summer in one of the windows and they operated just fine between the new and existing windows. Life altering. And I don't say that lightly. The noise in our bedroom was unbearable, especially at night. I really wanted the windows to work but was somewhat worried that not only would I be disappointed but that they would also look ugly and that we'd have trouble opening them for air or cleaning. Not a concern. These windows are fabulous. Marc Cohen, our Salesman was very knowledgable and clearly knows his product. His advice on choice of windows, how to frame them and the particular color was spot on. He's also a really nice guy. The process was easy. Anni Solis handled all the crazy paperwork required by our coop so I didn't have to do it. Our installation team of Antonio, Nicholas and Brandon were terrific....polite, professional and very meticulous with the installation and clean up. It's very clear that part of ( maybe all) of what makes these windows work is proper installation. The crew took great care to be sure these windows were in correctly and that they looked good. But the biggest issue is how they work for noise. They're great. The room is quiet and now I can see the traffic on Amsterdam without having to hear it. A little bit of peace and quiet in this noisy city. An unexpected benefit came with the recent cold spell. No drafts! Very nice. Citi Proof windows indeed work; they significantly remove the traffic and street noise from busy 7th avenue. Before installing Citi Proof's windows, I did replace my current exterior windows with special double glasses, it also cost a fortune, but that investment did not end up reducing street noise. My interaction with Citi Proof was pleasant from the beginning to the end. Michael Damelin, the owner of the company actually came to my apartment 3 times to do the measurement (due to my extended apartment-renovation) before I finally submit the order. He showed a genuine care of my wellbeing, whether & how the windows should be installed to maximize the noise reduction. During my 3 appointments with him, he was always patient to answer my question, very diligent at the measuring my windows, careful at taking notes , never showed any sign of rush. It did take 2 months for the windows to be manufacture, during the waiting period, the office staff Anni helped me a great deal on the paper work of the Condo board approval package. They conducted the installation in an extremely professional way; they exercised great care during the installation. After 14 years in my 11th Floor, Upper West Side Condo, the noise from the Broadway facing bedrooms was too much. Having completed a full review of every noise reduction window firm servicing NYC, I selected two "finalists". Cityproof, although a bit pricier than it's competition, significantly received the most positive customer reviews . . . so I submitted my measurements via their website and received a "ballpark" estimate within hours. Cityproof windows are definitely a lifesaver. My new apartment is pretty close to Broadway, which meant loud sirens / traffic / construction / bus noises at all hours. I was once skeptical at some of Cityproof's noise reduction claims, but after a few weeks of uninterrupted sleep post-window installation, I'm definitely a believer. I evaluated Cityproof alongside Citiquiet - price wise, Citiquiet actually offered a better price (comparing quotes side-by-side, products as similarly as possible - Citiquiet came in ~15% cheaper). After interacting with both companies - my experience with Cityproof was so much more positive vs. Citiquiet. Citiquiet's guys seemed to be very hasty, pushy, didn't make me feel at ease. After reading some negative reviews about similar customer service experiences with Citiquiet - I went ahead with Cityproof, even though they were slightly more expensive. Rating Cityproof 4 out of 5, because: lead time is so long (more than 2 months), installation ended up taking longer than originally estimated (almost 3 hours instead of 1.5). There was some miscommunication between my rep and the installation guys. But honestly, all of the cons are pretty much outweighed by the facts that 1. the product is a lifesaver 2. overall positive experience with anyone I interacted with from Cityproof read more

I don't know much about other sound proofing companies, but my experience with Cityproof was solid. We live on a busy street in Brooklyn and were going crazy with all the traffic, honking, loud stereo speakers, loud conversation, large truck motors, etc. We had just bought the apartment and I was starting to feel like I'd made a huge mistake. Cityproof was a total gamechanger. While it doesn't completely block out sirens and other noise at that decibel level (and, in fairness, they did not make any claims that they could), it does soften much of the overall background noise and makes sleeping so much better. Our regular windows are crap to begin with, so starting from that baseline I believe their windows do an admirable job. They can only do so much. The time to manufacture does take a while, which isn't ideal, but in the end what's the difference if you have a strong product? I found customer service, particularly Marc, to be reliable, straightforward and not pushy in the least. The windows themselves actually look fantastic and Cityproof works to make sure they match the original sitelines of your regular windows. I'd say price is the only thing that makes it 4/5 stars, but I suppose if you're serious about reducing your noise level, it's a worthwhile investment. read more

Peace and Sanity have returned. I contacted several installers of sound proof windows and after comparing quotes and comments opted to with Cityproof. It was the best decision I made. They were upfront and forthright about what they could deliver from the very first contact. Michael responded quickly to the initial email and answered all my questions - even the ones I did not know I had. Marc came and measured for a sliding porch door and window discussed glass and frame options with me as well as how best to deal with my existing structures. These guys know their stuff I would trust them to do any additional jobs on my windows. The installation crew was prompt, polite, efficient and had everything installed within a matter of hours. Once complete you never even knew they were there, so well did they clean up the space. They also went the extra step and fixed some existing details on the latches of exterior windows - I cannot thank them enough. And the windows, Those beautiful, clear, sound blocking windows have returned my sanity. I needed them to block a particular repetitive bass noise and once the windows are closed I feel like a weight is lifted. We were thrilled with CitiProof Windows! After learning that there would be major construction around the coop building where we had just purchased, we started calling around. CitiProof was the most responsive and Chris came almost immediately to give us an estimate. He was professional, so knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us anything that we didn't need- we actually ended up going with thicker windows than he thought we needed in two of the rooms. Delivery of the custom windows was right on schedule and Anni kept us informed throughout and coordinated all the paperwork for the building. She would answer an email within minutes! Installation was easy and the installers were fantastic- courteous, efficient and very neat. The windows fit seamlessly in front of the original windows and you cannot tell that they are even there! The Cityproof windows that were installed some months ago in our eleventh floor apartment (near the BQE) in Brooklyn Bridge Park are WONDERFUL. They are enormously effective, cutting out nearly all exterior sounds with the exception of very loud motorcycles, screaming ambulances and downshifting large trucks. Even these are hugely reduced and muffled as incoming sounds die between the original windows and the matching Cityproof windows. In fact, the quiet we experience is almost eerie in its absence of sound. Our Cityproof rep, Marc, answered my many questions and the installers did a superb job of quickly (still seems impossible!) erecting the 7' x 16' set of windows that visually match and correspond to the original windows. We have a good nine-inch-deep dead space between the old glazing and the new Cityproof windows which I know helps a lot. The installers created the most delicate and carefully executed line of sealant where the new windows meet the walls, ceiling and cabinets below, utterly professional. I have been very pleased with the three Cityproof windows installed in my bedroom and can strongly recommend the salesperson with whom I worked, Brian Denis. While he left the choice of window thickness up to me, he expressed concern about my ability to open the thickest (and most sound-blocking) window without assistance, and stated his belief that a somewhat thinner window would block the bothersome traffic noise adequately. He turned out to be right! He also proposed an ingenious solution to the problem of how to hang custom-made shades in front of the Cityproof windows: a frame built out slightly from the existing frame. I was somewhat worried about the aesthetics of this, but it looks great! The installation process went very smoothly: The workers arrived when they said they would, did a very neat job, and finished sooner than I had expected. The relatively long time it takes to manufacture the windows is the only negative, but since it took me years to decide to install the windows, a few additional weeks is a very minor drawback indeed. read more

LIFE CHANGING! Our Chelsea apartment has become an oasis of silence in this wonderful, bustling city. We turned to Cityproof when a strange beeping started going off in the alley behind our building, and no one knew how to stop it or what it was. This was in addition to loud AC fans from the nearby Google building. Noises kept me up at night and often had me going out to sleep on the sofa in another room. Once Cityproof put their windows in, all the noise disappeared. There wasn't a guarantee that it would happen, of course. I never thought windows would bring so much happiness and would make such a difference in the apartment. We wish we've done them a long time ago! Really silly of us not to, especially since we live on the 3rd floor of a pre-war apartment on a Transverse street with traffic and bus stop just outside of our building. We got 1/2 thick laminated glass starphire. I was concerned that the windows will look not natural in the apartment and that the visibility through double windows will decrease. Nothing of the sort! The windows substantially improved the interior look of the room since the original windows are those metal square ones you see on old buildings. They eliminated any draft which was especially important this crazy cold winter, and it became the quietest room in the whole apartment. You do not hear the street, at all! It's almost freaky. The windows are easily opened and closed so there is no question of stuffiness. We are in love! It does take 6-8 weeks to manufacture and install them, so needs some planning. read more

I was told by a neighbor that he had Cityproof install soundproof windows in his place and that it was "life-changing." We both live on the street-side of the building so based on that, I went for it, and I totally agree! I live in a neighborhood that's seeing a lot of construction, and with a building going up directly across the street from me, and another probably right next to it after this one is done, I was at the end of my rope and had to try something. And while no window is going to cut out all sounds, after one week I'm sold! So much quieter! And you can barely tell that there is another window in place along with my existing widows, they match that exactly. A big office building is going up behind our small historic building in Manhattan. Before the work started Cityproof installed windows in the apartments facing the site. The installation was flawlessly and efficiently completed on schedule and as promised. The soft sound of the mini-split AC units was the loudest sound to be heard in these apartments even during the cacophony of excavation and pile driving, even in apartments with oversized sliding doors 20 feet from the work. One tenant did not want the windows installed and when he moved out we asked Cityproof to come back, but on the day of their planned work the New York State COVID lockdown went into effect. As soon as the schedule for lifting the lockdown was announced, Cityproof called to reschedule the work and it was completed two days after the lockdown was lifted. This is without a doubt, the best money spent. I recently moved into an apartment facing the East River (FDR Drive). The noise from the passing cars on the FDR kept me awake as my bedroom faces the drive....until I had Cityproof Windows installed. OMG!! What a difference. Our new Cityproof interior terrace door and windows are, in one word, amazing. The noise level from outside is reduced so substantially inside throughout the apartment that it is almost unbelievable to have this quiet in midtown Manhattan. From the first phone call to discuss a quote, to the measuring visit, to the email updates by customer service, to the actual install, the Cityproof people are as good at what they do as it gets. We chose the crystal clear glass for the entire apartment and the look and fit are superb. The glass door and window seals remind me of closing a mason jar, it's that tight. The install staff was professional, on-time, and so organized.
