We came to Coeur d' Alene during December and museums and other places are closed for the season. I really wanted to go to the silver mine, but it was closed for the season, but this Gold mine is open. Based on the reviews, decided to come. This is a tourist trap for sure. This is located in Kellogg, Idaho. The price of $27 a person is high when you factor in length of tour compared to price. I am giving 3 stars because I did learn a few things and my grandfather was a coal miner, so it gave me some idea of what a miner job entails. Gold mine: small mine that you get a guided tour. You get to see how miner searched for gold on the quartz veins. Bathroom: warm and average clean

Neat gift shop! Super nice and knowledgeable staff. The tour was awesome and worth doing! We brought our 7 year old and our 1 year old with no issues. They have fun helmet names and gave little flash lights to us to use to look at things during the tour. Very informational, I would recommend it's worth the time and money.

Unforgettable experience! As we checked in after a long day of travel, Dan & Holly went WAY above and beyond to accommodate us despite an error I had made in booking our site. They were extremely welcoming and eager to share about restaurants and attractions in the area. Their suggestion of the close-by Casa de Oro Mexican restaurant was terrific and we ended up dining there twice! As for the mine, Destiny provided us a fascinating tour, and expertly appealed to our three children's interests. She had clearly done her research about the history and was open and responsive to our many questions. Her delivery of content was both humorous and memorable! Finally, there was Matt who greeted us with a smile the moment we approached to do our tour. After the tour, Matt was patient and inspiring, taking great amounts of time, particularly with our youngest child, showing him how to pan for gems and gold. He explained the difference between pyrite and gold and shared the differences between miners' techniques and this experience. He genuinely shared their enthusiasm as they sifted their gem bags in the sluice. Overall, our family shared an unforgettable time at Crystal Gold Mine & RV Park. And, for us, its location near the Trail of the Hiawatha and I-90 was very convenient. Thanks again, Dan, Holly, Destiny & Matt! You make an excellent team!

Over priced and the people were crazy rude. Stay away from the trashy RV park people yell out you for being there.

Really cool -- like nothing I have seen before. There are so many beautiful crystal formations. It's a great tour and I would do it again.

Our tour guide through the mine had been a miner himself for many years, and had a unique perspective and knowledge of how the men lived and worked back in the day. The gentleman I spoke with confirmed both were do-able on the same day. Unfortunately, he neglected to mention that we needed to be at their site 15 minutes prior to the tour. We completed our bike ride but the gps indicated we would arrive at 4:08 PM. Since we were such a large family, I called as a courtesy at 3:50 PM to update our timing. Upon opening the reservation email for their phone number, I saw the request to check-in 15 minutes early. Kelly, the manager, told me they would not wait for us. She said the guides are retired miners, and she would not ask them to wait - even though we comprised 7 of the 9 attendees of the 4:00 tour. She said we had to arrive in 5 minutes (3:55 PM) or rebook for another day. Unfortunately, we couldn't legally drive that fast and were leaving the area. So, we had to decline those options. That same evening, we got a text asking us to leave a review. I hate sharing grievances publicly. So today, 8/7 I called again, hopeful that we could reach a compromise with some shared responsibility in the mix up. However, she was so argumentative I couldn't get a word in. When I tried to speak, she'd talk over me and just went into a rant. I was never able to deliver my suggestion. I concluded this was not productive and while she was still ranting, I disconnected the call to begin writing this review. Despite my reluctance for saying anything negative publicly. Truth be told, I have no idea if it's a good tour or not. Perhaps the staff are wonderful - I can't really say. But Kelly is a bulldog and not suitable to interface with customers. Perhaps this "heads up" on the rigidity of policy will spare another family the huge disappointment our 9-year-old faced. He is a rockhound and had been so excited about this tour. For the owners of this enterprise and other employees, I apologize for saying anything harmful about the Sienna Silver Mine Tours. This situation could have come to a far more favorable conclusion. In my opinion, Kelly should not be a decision maker nor a representative of this tourist-driven attraction. She is offensive. I am regretfully giving this a score of "0" stars. They seem to find the nature of their work to be irritable and it shows in their poor customer service. They said they would adjust our reservation to accommodate our travel time then without authorization tried to charge us for this time. So we went to the marina at the resort instead and they were 1000 times more pleasant, positive and the cost was much cheaper. I personally would rather support the small business but in this case the staff was far too negative and anti-service minded. I would never do business with them again. Then they tried to over charge us for a boat we didn't rent and an additional "admin" fee. Be aware.
