Came here from Baltimore to visit the caves and I was very excited to make the drive over! It's $23 for an adult and they recommend tipping your tour guide after. Tours depart every 30 mins and last approximately 50-55 mins. This is definitely not physically accessible if someone is wheelchair bound, this does have stairs and slight incline. One member of my group was using a cane and he was fine to walk through the caverns. The caverns are a little chilly (around 55 degrees) constantly; so dress appropriately! The stairs and floors are rocky and slightly slippery so I would recommend boots or shoes with good grip. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable if a little cheesy but there's a lot of families who come here so it's very understandable. Some parts of the caves are narrow and dark so just be aware if this is something you're scared of, but you do not have to crawl or anything like that. Some parts of the ceiling are low so if you're over 5'5", you will have to duck for certain parts but this isn't an issue. I enjoyed coming all the way out here to see the rocks and I think this is a nice attraction to come see.

The wait to enter for the guided tour was short and the tour was interesting and informative. The tour guide was friendly and personable. I'd recommend visiting.

Tony and I usually head to Florida for his birthday trip but this year with his work schedule, we had to settle for long weekend! On Sunday, Day Three we stopped at the Crystal Grottoes in Boonsboro MD. Out of over 1900 caves, this is the only one opened for commercial use! Found out People get married down there!! We got there about 330 in time for 3:45 tour. It's like 50 degrees in their so needed to grab my sweatshirt out of trunk (just for this type of reason). I've learned to wear proper Tennis shoes inside the caverns too, it's always wet and slippery in their also! Again, prepared!!! It cost us $24 per adult! They do have a brochure with $1 off per person in your group. Might want to grab one of those!! It's a building built beside the mountain where you buy your tickets, souvenirs and even Gem stone mining bags!! The tour begins inside here too! The tour last about 45 minutes and is very easily accessible. Not a lot of stairs but a few. When you leave it's up a ramp! The entire walking was a little over a mile. Our tour guide Jasmine was very helpful and showed us all the formations. Be sure to tip your guides!! Definitely recommend and would do again!!

Me and my fiance love going to different caverns. We found this one on our way to our campground in Maryland. It did not disappoint. It was $23 per person, which was not bad. The tour lady was very good it was only her first week I believe and she did an excellent job. We were the only ones on the tour, so that was kinda nice. They do have restrooms that you can use. However, I wouldn't say they really have a gift shop. They have a few things you can buy, but it's not much.

Paul was super awesome! 100% recommend this gorgeous cave tour, the staff was friendly and accommodating! Thank you so much Paul for dealing with our group of 20 and being so informative and kind!

This was a great tour!! The front desk staff was very helpful and our tour guide, Dakota, was wonderful!!! They are under newish ownership and it shows. My 7 year old loved it as well. I was surprised by the price at first, but it was a pretty long tour and very interesting so in my mind it was worth it.

Staff were very friendly going above and beyond to wait for guests who just arrived in the parking lot before starting their tour (1 every 30 mins). Gift shop was very small and limited. Tour only lasts about 25-35 mins and you only see about 1/3 of the caverns excavated. Tour guide was very enthusiastic and informative, but I do wish the tour was a bit longer for the price. A few spots are very tight/low hanging, so be prepared to duck if you're on the tall side. Bathrooms were very clean and the parking lot had plenty of space.

Interesting place we just happened to drive by on our road trip so decided to stop! Went on a fun and informative tour!

I hired Marcia and her company to be my entrance and exit for my special day! What I did not know…read moreis that you need to get permission from venue as well as the city or municipality the event is taking place in order for it to be allowed. My BIGGEST mistake was trusting that such a company that is in business to perform such a service actually knows the ins and outs of the business and would have me (the consumer) covered on these types of things. Again, I am a consumer. This is not my business. Long story short, at the last second, we had to cancel the service because the vendor and city would not allow it. Marcia should have either checked this on her end, or at the very LEAST, informed us to check. And she should have a document for consumers to sign and/or the venue to state we checked and it is allowed. Once I found out it wasn't allowed, I contacted Marcia and told her, as we had already put down the deposit of $475. Even though she stated the deposit was non-refundable, I thought she would be a FAIR Vendor and refund our money since we were canceling due to no fault of our own. But NO, Marcia was not compassionate at ALL and REFUSED to refund our money. Instead, she offered to allow us to apply the credit towards a future horse and carriage. Are you kidding me?!?!? For WHAT other occasion would anyone want a Horse and Carriage!??!?!?! Just ridiculous! So now, Instead of enjoying my honeymoon, I am writing this review because of how she had a major hand in all but ruining my day! Unfortunately now, I will have to seek my refund through the court systems. Businesses that try to take advantage of consumers never win! Folk, do your own research before you hire this woman and her company! Because all she does is take your money...she does NOTHING as a business to inform, educate you, or cover you on her end!

Carriages of the Capitol were incredibly responsive and the most cost competitive (one vendor wanted $1500 for 30 mins!). We talked by email and phone on the details, and they worked with our venue on their parking needs. They were very flexible on our timing (we departed at 11:30 pm), arrived early to set up the carriage and ready the horse. The carriage was fairy tale beautiful and the horse was a sweetheart. The staff was great to work with and dressed the part. After leaving the reception, we rode through Capitol Hill and to our hotel. Honestly, the carriage ride was the most peaceful part of the whole day. We were done with our big day; we were married. We relaxed for the first time in weeks, and let the horse do all the work.

Your…read moreguide is an endless resource of knowledge about the area, and you will leave with stronger quads and more brain cells. My mom arranged for us to go on this tour, after having read positive reviews on another website. We didn't really know what we had in store for us, but she stumbled onto a local treasure. Once you park and (probably) hike your way toward the rendezvous point, you'll head inside a church lounge where you can sit comfortably and get some background information. Your guide will be dressed in historical garb, and he may even break out into song at various points, between deep-dive presentation of historical narrative. Okay, so costume and singing aren't usually my scene (and in fact, they sometimes make me cringe), but this expert is so totally in earnest that it was actually refreshing. How can you not respect someone with this level of knowledge and commitment? You really feel like you're seeing the area through a historical lens. Every sight you see is informed by the guide, which adds rich layers of context. I admit that I kind of felt weirdly sorry for the other area tourists who were roaming the place uninformed. Some of the rocks, rubble, ruins, trails, and geography you see played a role in American history that you might not recognize, and this awareness made so many of the local sights more enjoyable. You do plenty of walking. Bring water, and wear comfortable shoes and clothing. You will also have breaks from the walking to reconvene. The tour was such an experience that we actually had ice cream with the other tour group members afterward to rehash and decompress. The guide does a haunted tour that I haven't tried, but which he describes as more lighthearted. I'd totally go back for that, and I'd bring any history nerd who visits the area to the O Be JoyFull tour in a heartbeat. Not the right setting for someone who wants a more consumer-based or superficial visit to Harper's Ferry, though. They can wait for you at the ice cream parlor!

Each gallery offered different exhibits following through the footsteps of the soldiers and surgeons and the harsh conditions and personal sacrifices they went through.
