Serious Consumer Safety Failure, Especially for Infants: I am writing this review to document a deeply alarming experience with Primo that raises serious concerns about consumer safety, quality control, and corporate accountability. I discovered a blue colored pencil inside a factory-sealed 5-gallon Primo water jug, which was filled at Primo's Carnegie filling facility and delivered directly to Giant Eagle in Crafton. This discovery occurred after my infant son had already consumed formula prepared using water from this jug. Upon further inspection, I found blue pigment particles in my son's bottle and in the water dispenser reservoir, strongly indicating contamination had already occurred prior to discovery. Primo has since confirmed that the facility responsible for sanitizing the bottles uses Ecolab PolyBrite, a caustic industrial detergent containing chemical agents as part of its bottle-washing process. Despite this, Primo has shown little concern for the potential risks these chemicals may pose to an infant, particularly in a scenario involving a foreign object capable of retaining or transferring chemical residue. Most troubling is Primo's refusal to conduct or allow third-party testing of either: * the water, * the pencil, * or the bottle itself for chemical residues, detergents, or other potentially harmful agents. As a consumer--and a parent--I requested independent, objective testing to ensure my child was not exposed to harmful substances. This request was denied. Primo also refused to conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation into how a foreign object of this size could pass through their visual inspection process, despite acknowledging that the bottle may have been contaminated prior to arriving at their facility. At the same time, they contradicted themselves by asserting that once the seal was broken, the bottle is now considered contaminated--effectively shifting responsibility away from their own processes. To summarize the contradictions: * Primo suggests the bottle may have arrived contaminated before filling and sealing. * Primo simultaneously claims the contamination is only relevant because the seal was broken, despite the contamination clearly predating that event. This logical inconsistency undermines confidence in their quality control, investigation standards, and transparency. At every step, Primo has demonstrated a dismissive attitude toward legitimate consumer safety concerns, particularly when an infant is involved. Their unwillingness to pursue testing, accountability, or meaningful corrective action suggests a broader disregard for consumer protection standards. This was not a minor issue. This was a sealed product intended for human consumption, used to feed a newborn, containing a foreign object and visible contamination. The handling of this incident has left me with zero confidence in Primo's safety practices. I've had this service for years, across 2 different addresses. When we moved, we were further away from the distribution center, so I understood the need to switch to once a month delivery instead of bi-weekly. Over the last number of months however, our deliveries are often missed/moved, for up to a week at a time. Good luck getting anyone on the phone as well as wait times are absurd. I canceled the service last week, and they won't even come take their bottles and cheap bottle rack. They missed the pickup date, and now show no future pickup dates, and I can't even call as an "existing customer" because I canceled the service. Amazingly, even if I call as a new customer, the wait times are insane. At this point I'm just going to trash the bottles and hope to never deal with company again. if I could give zero stars I would. I've been a customer for years, in March of this year they stopped delivering my water. After so many attempts to deal with customer service I cancelled my service. Now they won't come get my equipment and empty water bottles. I have a credit on my account I probably won't get and I've been on hold for days. The kicker is a saw a Crystal Springs truck yesterday 1/2 mile from my house. Don't get your water from here!!! They have rescheduled my order over thirty times in the past two months. Update: 5/29/25 they cancelled again!! I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. You have been warned they absolutely suck! You will probably die from lack of water before they come and will spend a ton of money like I have had to. TLDR: this company is the absolute worst and completely unreliable and incapable of servicing their clients. I rarely write reviews--especially negative ones. I know most businesses are just trying to make it, and the last thing they need is someone piling on. But something needs to change at Crystal Springs Water Delivery. We've been customers for over five years, and for the first four and a half, the service was flawless. I'd get a reminder call the day before delivery day, leave the empty jugs out, and bring in the new ones that afternoon. If I had a problem with my disperenser, I would call and a new one would be dropped off in the next week. Simple, seamless, no complaints. Unfortunately, ever since the recent merger, things have completely fallen apart. I have no idea when my delivery is scheduled. My order gets rescheduled EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It's been 6 weeks since I've received water. Getting in touch with someone is next to impossible, and when I finally do, the support is unhelpful and dismissive. I used to recommend this service to friends and family--many of whom signed up. Now, they're dealing with the exact same issues. Judging by the recent flood of similar reviews, we're not alone. I'm logging in to cancel my subscription after I post this, in the hopes of saving others from the same frustration. I genuinely feel bad leaving this review, because before the merger, everyone I interacted with--from drivers to customer service to local managers--was friendly and helpful. I began receiving items that I did not order, bottles were left outside my office building not to the door. The overseas "customer service" is NOT helpful. RUN!!!!!!!!!!! They deserve ZERO stars. I was a customer for about 10 years, through the Costco program, until the Primo merger a few months ago. We got 12 5 gallon bottles every month to our house, as we have a large family. April was our last delivery, then in May missed our delivery, rescheduled, missed that delivery, rescheduled...this happened about a dozen times. I had a surplus of water bottles so for a few weeks it was okay. But they never came! I called them and was assured they would get our delivery done pronto, but the spiral of rescheduling began again. By the mid June I had 21 empty bottles sitting on my porch and no hope that they would ever make our delivery, so I cancelled my order and asked them to pick up the machines I was renting. When they finally showed up to get those machines in JULY, I asked the driver to take all the empty bottles with him, which he did. I should have received a bottle deposit refund for 21 bottles, but never did. So I called. Again. Because they could only access my account from April 2025, they told me that I was never charged a deposit so I would get no refund. I asked them to find someone who could access the old records before the merger so that they could see I had paid bottle deposits, so they found someone who understood the situation and assured me I would receive the refund of $146 within a week. I got a $12.60 refund. So I gave it 4 more weeks and called back. Had to start from square one. The call dropped. I called again & started over. Got a sweet guy, but when he reached out to the people who could access the "old bills" they informed him that they "went all the way back to February of 2025" and saw no bottle deposits billed to me, so I am not owed a refund. I gave up. It is beyond me how people can be so stinking stupid and lazy. I am chalking this up to a loss because I have literally spent hours of my time dealing with this mess and finally realized there is nothing I can do unless I want to keep wasting my time. I know have 17 empty bottles sitting in my driveway since July (just hoping someone picks them up). This is the worst service I have ever experienced. I had to find the delivery driver last month in another town over a half hour away just to get my water. Now this month my delivery did not come again on the day it was supposed to. After speaking to the worst customer service agents and being put on hold for over 40 minutes each time I called, they assured me my water would be delivered on another day, which is today. Updated My issue was immediately addressed by Cara. I never had an issue with the driver's always polite and professional. The route manager Mitchell not so much. After arguing back and forth with them they finally removed the charge. I've been a customer for about 2 years now. They were VERY reliable in Chicago and showed up exactly on the scheduled days, but for some reason in Pittsburgh, the delivery drivers just don't show up. The first time my driver didn't show up, I called Customer Service and he showed up the next day. The second two times he didn't show up, I became disinterested in this service and started looking for other options. So I called and canceled my service. Literally, about 3 hours after I canceled, the driver dropped off 3 5-gallon water bottles on an unscheduled delivery day. (!?!) I called Customer Service again, and even they were confused by this unscheduled delivery. In conclusion, if you live in Pittsburgh and have this service, don't expect it to be reliable. Customer for probably 10+ years, 2 years ago one summer they just stopped delivering. Called the 800 number at least 10 times until someone told me they stopped due to us being on vacation (we were not). Regardless, from that point deliveries started until this past summer when it stopped yet again. This time I knew calling the 800 was a waste of time. I took to google to get a local number. To my surprise there were 6-8 numbers all disconnected. So I called the 800 number to ask for a local number, I was told they "just changed it" and corporate had no record. More googling and I found the local office. I drove to the plant/warehouse/offices to drop off the empties and get things back on track. The first time I left with full bottles and *they threw in 2 for free*, delivery never started. 2 months later I went back again to the plant/warehouse/offices and did the process one more time (this time I also left with 2 freebies). Again, delivery never started, 2 months later drove to them again, this time they walked me to a manager in the offices. They researched and the line was initially they lost the driver to my route, then they re-routed everything and I was missed, next the driver probably did not have stock on the truck and instead of putting in a missed chose to put me on vacation. The last thing I heard was "we promise", here are 4 freebies. After the promise and 6 weeks later, I drove back one last time and dropped off all the empties, got my receipt and left to cancel three days later after making sure I go t the credit for the empties. When I called to cancel and get my $77.00. refund issued, they wanted to know why I was cancelling. Crystal Springs service in Pittsburgh is absolutely atrocious. If I could give 0 stars I would. 2 years of water delivery riddled with issues. Never getting the number of bottles I ordered, always coming on a different day, when my cooler broke they brought the wrong one for replacement and each time I called they said a driver would come swap them and for that entire two years I kept asking and they kept refusing to come. When I moved to a new house I decided it was time to be done with them and cancelled the service. That was 9/25 and I was told the soonest anyone could come was 10/10, I thought that was a ridiculous amount of time to wait for pick up but fine. 10/10 came and went and I called 10/11 and was told whoops sorry, looks like the rep didn't process correctly, we will be there 10/24 (if they recorded the call they will note she guaranteed this). The 24th came and when the man wasnt there near end of business I called and was told it was rescheduled for the 26th and that was all they could do. After arguing with the rep about the fact that I was just charges for another months rental fee for a machine they were refusing to pick up she told me that I was SOL and when asked if this would continue to happen every month until they pick up, she said yes it would continue to charge but she guaranteed the 26th was the final move of the date. Of course the 26th came around and no one came. I called and they said oh yeah it was rescheduled for the 30th. I let the rep know that it seemed to me that they didn't care to have the cooler back so if they didn't come on the 30th then I would put it on the curb and they could decide to get it or not but I do not believe it was my responsibility to deal with all of this after cancelling on 9/25 and that I have been patient enough. She guaranteed to called the delivery driver, the home office and sent an email. On the 30th they didn't come and I called to be told that they would be here on Nov 1st. I informed the rep that the cooler would be outside as of the morning of Nov 1st because I was tired of spending entire days staying at home waiting for them. She agreed that this has all been ridiculous and apologized and again guaranteed he would come. Attempting to be considerate I spent another day waiting instead of putting it outside. Today is Nov 1st and again no one came and I was told that the sate would now be Nov 2nd. I sent feedback and let the phone rep know that I would TRULY be placing it outside, which i just did, and contact a lawyer to help ensure that they cannot screw me over by charging me for a cooler they refused to pick up. This is the absolute worst company that I have dealt with and ridiculous that I care more about them getting their equipment back than they do. I payed the rental fees on a machine I couldn't get them to correct without complaint, I didn't give them grief about never getting deliveries correct either because I had water and learned to order more than I needed in each order to ensure we didnt run out and dealt with the giant ugly cooler they replaced my nice slimline one with because it worked even though it RUINED the look of my kitchen. I gave this company more breaks than I would give anyone even half as bad. If they cared at all about clients and the issue really is that they are too overwhelmed with the number of clients to provide their service then why not cut your losses as a company and say "hey, you practically paid off what we offer to buy these machines and we just cant handle this last step of picking it up so how about you keep it and consider it our sorries". Im sure thats not the only option but my calling and getting "oh well, we wont pick it up AND we are gonna charge you still. Not only have they just added to the hassle in my life by waiting for them but now I have to go to my bank to dispute the charges I have been getting and from what it seems I will be in this never ending cycle of calling, threatening, disputing. I have been a customer of Crystal springs for 11 years.. Today I cancelled my service after two plus weeks of horrendous customer service. It all started on Monday March 29. I put a new bottle in my cooler before going to work. When I came home at 4pm my kitchen was flooded. The cooler leaked the entire bottle. ok I get this the cooler was old.. I cleaned up the mess and called them. Customer service.. is always a 20 min wait or longer. So I always take advantage of the "call back feature". I told them what happend they said we will get you a new cooler on wednesday.. it never came. I called again.. the woman was very rude and told me well "it didn't come because we ran out of water".. I said I don't need water I need a cooler. She then proceeds to tell me...well we do not make your cooler any more... we only have the hot/cold coolers.. I said, I don't want hot water.. she said.. well that is all we have now.. so I said, "Oh, so you can't accommodate me anymore" she said blatantly said "NO". I said then cancel my service, just cancel my service!!!!. So she said I can't do that I have to transfer you.. She transfers me to the people who cancel. Of course another long phone wait! I then got a friendlier woman who said.. I'll get you a cooler... and when we get the kind of cooler you want rebuil,.. (that would be cold and room temp water), we will exchange it. I agreed. I said I am only home on Fridays at noon. She said fine.. I'll make sure they deliver it then. No cooler delivered on Friday..... I call again around 4 pm... I get the run around again.. and they tell me they "promise" to deliver Monday AFTER 4 pm when I get home from work so I could be there when the cooler arrived. By the time I got home from work before 4 pm, there was already a new Hot Cold cooler sitting on my back porch, so now, I have the other one sitting in my kitchen.. because they delivered when no one home so no one picked up the old cooler. So I called again.. angry.. and I am told they're sorry this happened. And said.. we will have another cooler delivered this week. This is when my Blood Pressure went off the chart) I said "then why did your people tell me twice.. for two separate Fridays... they would deliver on a Friday"...YOU PEOPLE LIE! In the meantime my daughter went out around 10 am this day and SAW a Crystal Springs truck on our street... thinking oh look the delivery is coming, But yet this woman tells me "we never deliver on Fridays". LIARS! CANCEL MY SERVICE!!! So then, this woman said.. how much water do you have I said 4 bottles. She said.. fine your account is cancelled.. you will be charged a service charge. And for cooler rental, she said you have ONE COOLER!!! I SAID NO LADY - I HAVE TWO COOLERS HERE!!! and neither one work.. I said do not charge me for anything ..and I have not had service for over two weeks. I and I am not paying it. She also told me I will not get credit for any full bottles. I said... oh, so I can keep them!! she said no. If you keep them you will be charged again... I cannot believe how I was treated after 11 years of service and never a complaint from me in all those years. My plan is to go with Aqua fresh. If I could give 0 stars I would. Despicable service! Delivery is never when they say it will be (often times 3-4 weeks delayed) and when you call to find out where it is, they usually do not pick up, hang up on you, give you a false promise date, or just blame it on the delivery driver. On top of that, they never take the empty bottles back! I have about 20 bottles in my garage! Anytime we were expecting a delivery, we would leave the empties out requesting them to take them back. Instead of taking them, they would give us more! My husband and I literally left notes requesting them to take the empty bottles, but they would just keep delivering more. It's really a joke of a service. We since cancelled our service, but we have 20 bottles in our garage... and we fear if we put them out they will just leave more. Terrible! read more

I've had this service for two years and I've come to the conclusion that it is the most poorly run company I've dealt with in my adult life. The customer service agents are kind but they almost never do what you ask them to do. Here's an example: I called to ask for a delivery of water on 2/7. The rep told me that I would receive a delivery that Monday, 2/11. Monday came and went with no delivery. I called Crystal Springs- they apologized and said my delivery would be that Friday 2/15. Friday came and went, no delivery. I called and was told that my account is somehow "on hold". I asked to speak to a supervisor and was on hold for approximately 20 minutes waiting. A supervisor finally told me they would try to deliver that day (Friday) but it never happened. I spend half my lunch breaks on the phone with cust service with this company but can't get anything accomplished. It is so frustrating, I would advise anyone to STEER CLEAR. No customer service. Not answering tollfree numbers. Spoke to one rep when ordering.Did not get order right. Found opened cooler without direction and water by front door. I was told Carnegie driver would call.with approximate time at start of route. We seniors need help.carrying in 5 gallon bottles. 60 #. Plan to cancel if new order and my directions to call.in a.m. are not followed. Finally, spoke to someone yesterday after 30+ minutes on hold. Just left speaker on. Was 8th call in 2 days. I have had 2 drivers in 4 years and both have been awesome! My first driver Larry retired and his replacement John is doing just as well. Always on time and gets me exactly what i need and I can call him directly if i need to adjust my order. Love this service!!! read more

This company do not know the meaning of Customer Service. They have a, "A no care attitude," and I will not not put up with the lack of intelligence. They are charging me $69 dollars first instead of picking up the bottles so my account can receive credit and I will pay the difference. They want me to give them $69 so that my account will show a credit instead refunds because refunds is something they don't do. They think people don't know but I do. I will be giving up my unit and empty bottles and stop all services with Amelia Crystal Springs Water. To Whom It May Concern, Pay your bill in advance and you will get all the water you need and if you don't pay and you have empty bottles they will not credit your account until a payment is received. If I could give Crystal Springs less than one star I would. Where to start with this train wreck of a delivery service and company. Everything was terrible start to finish with my experience. Our delivery driver would slam the jugs down on our concrete porch and crack the jugs that would leak all over. Or he would leave and charge us for more jugs than requested. Sometimes he would not deliver the water at all. Billing was always a mess- I would not get credited for leaking jugs and then I had to hound the company to come pick up my empties and credit me for the deposits on the jugs. read more

I did not receive bottle deposit credit for 11 bottles during 2014 because the driver did not mark that he picked them up. When I called customer service about it, I was told they cannot go back more than 60 days to adjust the account. I cancelled my service with final pickup to be June 5. The cooler and last bottles have been on my porch since June 5 and they have not been picked up yet. I've made 3 calls into customer service to find out why they are not picking it up. HORRIBLE. I received the initial cooler and spring water, but almost 2months later never received any more. no one answers the phone 90% of the time, and although you are told the manager (Carnegie office) will handle it - STILL NO WATER. I cancelled my services... HORRIBLE SERVICE. read more
