Crystal Vision takes good customer service to a GREAT level. Caroline and Ron were more than helpful, kind and understanding to help me help a 97 year old in a Scranton Nursing home with a broken frame. I am out of state and made all the arrangements over the phone with a caregiver bringing in the glasses and everyone worked together to allow things to flow smoothly (for which I am so grateful)! They helped me when four other vendors said they could not. We are fans for sure, not only for their expertise, but also for their compassion towards others! Thank you Team Crystal Vision. I wasn't rushed through the eye exam. The doctor does the testing not a tech. He answered my questions. The environment is active but in order. The staff was very friendly and polite, proficient . I was patiently assisted in finding the right glasses. I highly recommend Crystal vision center on Keyser avenue in Scranton. read more

I over heard a worker say to another patron that they call on people first come, first serve, yet they called on the people that came in after us and we waited 30 minutes to even receive an exam. They seem to over schedule. I see a few people waiting; 2 walk outs. The employees seem friendly and competent; just over booked or under staffed. read more

The Owner David Basalyga will simply not take responsibility for his Vision Center's mistakes. When I called to speak to him and have a calm, professional conversation in the spirit of resolving the issues in house - he ended the phone call because I was asking him to please stop talking in circles. This mistake has now cost my mother over $300 and she doesn't have a pair of glasses in her possession to show for it. Again, I was not raising my voice, using foul language or being in anyway abusive. I now think of him as the temperamental slumlord of NEPA eyecare who is incapable of a reasonable adult conversation. When I called back again, to ask for a refund of her money since there was not going to be a way to resolve this if Dave hangs up the phone on customers, they claim that she paid her insurance company directly so they had nothing to refund. (Despite the fact they processed a payment directly at and to Crystal Vision Center on my Mom's debit card when she was there) Then when I said charging a customer and not providing a product is theft, the gentleman told me it is "up to Dave" if she gets a refund. I will be filing with the Better Business Bureau which is a SHAME considering all I wanted was either a refund of my Mom's money OR a pair of functioning glasses to show for it! They think they can talk in circles and confuse people out of holding them accountable. Blaming the insurance company, and anyone else they can. I have not written a single negative review on Facebook until today - you should be ashamed Dave Basalyga. Seekers of Eyeglasses & contacts beware!! Go to Northeastern Eye Institute or somewhere more reputable (and by reputable, my standard is very low here, I simply mean somewhere you can get an eye exam, order glasses, and receive them, and be able to see out of them LOL who knew that was asking for so much!?) I think Dave's words in the seconds before he hung up on me sum it up, "I'm only making sixteen dollars here you know." Low margins aren't the fault of the customer, and an incorrect prescription submission is not the fault of the insurance company Dave. I really hope you learn compassion, accountability, and what "customer service" really means. read more

I was there last year and was Extremely Pleased with the service. I wanted to get bifocals and composite lens , kind of cheap but I was told that MY Ins allowed me to have everything including the Kitchen sink so to speak, Anti glare , photo , etc. The gentleman who sat with me was VERY Helpful . I had heard of a special they run for clients without insurance. As I wanted to have contacts and my insurance only covers every other year I decided to take advantage of this special. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with. The Dr. was kind and explained everything he was doing! I will be switching over to them for my early exams and would recommend! read more

Always had a great experience! Except today receptionist was EXTREMELY rude and was annoyed when I went in inquiring about an insurance question. Apologies for asking you to do your job. Not only that I heard her make a comment about me when she scoffed and went to look at my file. The actual doctor is always kind and light-hearted but this receptionist really put a damper on their name. Understandably with covid in-person contact is limited however, basic human decency shouldn't be ignored especially considering that it's within a field of health care. Five stars for other visits, 2 stars for her. I would put 1 but she did give me the answer to my question, rudely but star for it. read more

I was prescribed lenses that were worse than the ones I was currently wearing. I complained, and they set up another exam appointment with a different optometrist, they have four. I was given a short eye exam with this other optometrist, and was told the prescription was basically fine. I was not given a copy of the prescription because I was told I had to come back, I guess for a full exam again. I was so disgusted I left and went elsewhere. It turned out that the original prescription from Crystal was too strong for me. And, I was told some things about my eyes that the Crystal optometrist never mentioned. I will never go back here again, for exams, frames, nothing. Stay away. read more

My daughter had a 12pm appointment. Arrived 15 minutes early as I knew there would be some paperwork to fill out. Were told to have a seat before we could say why we were here. Waited 10 minutes to get the paperwork and another 10 to see the doctor. While I understand making an appointment doesn't mean you get seen at that time. The problem I have is the staff is disorganized and easily distracted. If a friend walks in they stop doing their work and start personal conversations. Which happened on our visit. I did find all staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful. Dr . was very nice. So all in all we like doing business here. You can't beat the prices. Just have to be patient when first arriving. After that the service is great. read more
