Best Driving School in the area. Highly recommend! Appreciated the technical driving maneuver videos and the instructors who worked with my kid. Shout out to Arsenio who built up my daughter's confidence. Anna Sab is great-straight shooter. Her husband was at the RMV for road test day. Communication between CS and parents was great. Attend any zoom meetings and watch videos as a parent. Getting instructor hour appointments was sometimes tricky in beginning-but tell your kid not to give up and keep trying to sign up for instructor hours when it's sign up time or get on waiting list for cancellations. Highly recommend paying the extra $ if you can afford it to have CS Driving School sponsor the road test and use their driving instruction cars. Made things much easier and honestly, it was better for me not to be the sponsor in the backseat of the road test car. IMO parents must practice driving with their kid as much as possible-above and beyond the required parent supervision hours. As hard, scary and frustrating as it can be! I spent hours at night practicing parallel parking with my kid the "CS Driving School way" (also 50 ft back up, parking on a hill maneuvers, and 3 point turns). My kid passed the road test because of her commitment to learning to drive, CS Driving School instructors, and the practice driving hours she did with me. My son is going to get his license on March 1st. He is my oldest , so this is all new for me - and let me tell you Anna Sab and her team made it so easy ! CS driving school is organized, they answer their phone and are able to help with any questions / problems , they are great at sending emails with all the information that is needed . CS Driving School has a very thoughtful approach: dedicated instructors, helpful videos, student Zoom meeting before test, mnemonic devices for learning all helped my daughter progress tremendously as a driver. 10/10 AnnaSab is the best. I've never seen anyone work so hard toward her students' success. She knows every little thing about the process and what you need to know to pass. My daughter failed her first test and the on parallel parking. Instructors of the school said she was ready for her test. Another child she was with passed on the 4th time. $215 from the school every test, schedule on your own and save your money. Seems like a fleece job. read more

Buyer beware! CS driving school will only let your child have a driving lesson 2 hrs per month and they don't recommend them to take their first until they have their permit for 2 months which means it will take AT LEAST 10 months for your child to get their license. No where does this state this on their "Teen Driving" package page. The parent education is miserable with the owner treating adults like children yelling at them to turn on your camera. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. My older son took his driving classes with newton driving years ago and got his license right at the 6 month mark. My daughter is taking classes now and she won't get her license for 11 months. They make you wait two months for the first one, then only 2 per month but you need 12! They are not many available so they're impossible to book! Avoid this place!!!! read more

My 16 year olds took the driver's ed package through CS/Newton Community Ed. We thought they were great! Anna Sab made the 30 hour class and the parent class enjoyable with her wisdom and sense of humor. We had great instructors including Bob, Anna's husband, who is very calm and great with teenagers. We did the package during covid which made scheduling lessons slightly challenging but CS did a great job - my kids wanted to be eligible to take their road test six months to the week they got their permits - with covid we didn't think this would be possible, but CS helped and they passed their road test (first try) about 6.5 months after getting the permit! Anytime I had a question or needed help CS was very responsive. The only thing to keep in mind is if you purchase the package through Newton Community Ed, the instructors pick you up and drop your child off at South. If you purchase directly from CS they can pick you up at your home. It wasn't a problem for us but some people prefer to be picked up at home. Thank you to everyone at CS!!! read more

In our experience, the driving instruction at CS Driving school was alternately reckless, abusive, and neglectful. One instructor took my teen daughter onto the highway on her second lesson when she was nowhere near ready, terrifying her while laughing at her fear. The school's owner Anna Sabatino spent one lesson yelling at my daughter, belittling her, and tearing her down. At the end of the 12-lesson package, my daughter needed to work on parallel parking in the CS sedan for the upcoming CS-sponsored road test (parking our home minivan is a bit different than parking the CS sedan). However, the CS instructor had her just drive around without practicing parking, while he ignored her and literally watched sports on his cellphone. Shortly afterwards, my daughter failed her first road test due to difficulty with parallel parking the CS sedan. The CS staff present at the CS-sponsored road test said that CS would call us to schedule a second road test, but no one ever called. We left CS and went to a different driving school (Middlesex Driving Academy in Winchester), where my daughter had two brush-up lessons with an excellent instructor who built up her confidence, practiced parking repeatedly, and helped her pass her second road test easily. I wish we had gone to Middlesex in the first place! On top of all of the problems with driving instruction, CS Driving has terrible scheduling issues which they rudely refuse to acknowledge or fix, claiming that all schools have the same issue. However, my younger child is now at Middlesex Driving Academy which has a much more logical and fair sign-up system that actually allows for one lesson per week without a problem. Avoid CS Driving Academy! There are sound reasons for the many bad reviews. read more

This schools business model is to sign you up for more classes than they can deliver on. Pay upfront for classes that they don't have sufficient staff to support. Recent staff turnover led to extremely limited scheduling availability and zero accommodation by the main office. Basically expect to have to compete with other students to get the few available slots once they open up and you're left high and dry with nothing until the next quarter where you have to win the lottery to win and schedule a class. They then tell you that you can always schedule next time until you've used all your class credits which by that time you'll have given up or already scheduled your driving test at RMV at which point they win and take your money for unusable school credits. Avoid this place at all costs and find a more reputable school. read more

We've been trying to make appointments for the behind-the-wheel hours. They all disappear within 1 minute of being posted for a month. We we barely able to get a single driving slot for the next month. At this rate, it'll take over a year to get the necessary hours. They have way too few staff but keep taking $ from parents. Edit to add: If you call them and fuss, instead of using the official system, they'll start offering you hours as they become available. You still need to respond within seconds. They need a better, more fair system, but it works if you stay on top of it and don't mind complaining (sigh) read more

My daughter, Grace attended CS driving school during the pandemic when there was a shortage of driving instructors. As a result, scheduling the road lessons was especially challenging and my daughter's ability to get her license was dependent upon completing the road hours. I reached out to the owner, Anna and she personally scheduled the hours to make sure that Grace was able to complete her road hours quickly and helped us get her scheduled for her road test sooner. During that time I can honestly say that Anna went above and beyond the call of duty - she provided Grace with moral support and made her feel confident in herself behind the wheel and in life. All three of our children were students at CS Driving School and we couldn't have been more impressed with Anna, Bob, and the entire CS's dedication to our kids' safety on the road and their willingness to accommodate our crazy busy schedules so that each of our kids could complete their driving test on time. Their behind the wheel lessons took me, a busy mom, from white-knuckling and stamping the "phantom brake" when my kids were learning, to far more relaxed and comfortable when they were driving. Unlike other driving schools that treat the kids like a number, we found that CS really cared about each of the kids and succeeded in seeing that they became good and safe drivers. Great training, support for success and they take care of it all My daughter just got her license. She was thrilled--the big thing is it is a confidence boost, an accomplishment. Yes it is her accomplishment but Anna Sab and her husband/business partner Bob have much to do with making it all happen. For me, it was great to be able to hand off the details and enjoy my driving hours with her. There are tons of (arcane?) rules and CS knows about and anticipates them. Their specific tips for the road test are priceless and the parent class entertaining (which is good because it is state required). Also, despite being very busy they gave personal attention and because we had followed all of the guidance and rules when we needed a switch in the schedule they made it happen and personally got her over the last needed class or two so as to not delay that license, awarded on the first try. PLEASE READ AND AVOID!! Absolutely zero available times. Only let you register one class when any are available - This meant my first class took 3 months to arrive after I finally found a single slot after looking for nearly 2 months. For 12 classes It will take over a year!! Drove with the CEO who also told me her daughter taught the zoom classes. Great Staffing guys! ZERO REFUND POLICY AFTER TAKING ONE CLASS!!!!!!!! Fees in everything. Fee for certificate. Fee if you miss class. Driving instruction was similarly great. I drive everywhere every day yet instructor feels the need to put her hands on the wheel randomly and turn while I'm going 30+?? Big portion of that one hour (which, for the 1200 class package, costs $100) Is spent judging the student's driving and not actually driving. student is expected to learn everything on their own and have teacher tell them what to work on. CS driving school is awesome. Their program of drivers ed to permit to license is quick, easy, and really sets you up to pass. The instructors are kind and helpful and ensure that their students will pass. I truly recommend doing CS as their program is the best in the greater Boston area. I cannot thank you enough for the wisdom that you bestowed upon me. I was an adult student who wanted until their mid 20's to even consider driving. The instructors at CS fielded through my many annoying questions and treated me with patience during my process. The customer service was amazing and their online portal is extremely easy to use. I passed my driving test on the first try because of how prepared the instructors made me during my lessons. It's very difficult to schedule lessons on-line. You're lucky to get 1 or 2 lessons in a month. The lessons are only 45 mins behind the wheel. You have to be on time, but the instructors can be late and drop you off 15 mins early. read more

Do not go here. You can't get appointments for on road lessons. We are lucky to get one one hour class per month. At this rate it will take more than a year to complete the course. Don't waste your time or money with this company. You/your kids will NOT be able to get their license for well over a year and that's if they jump through hoops everyday trying to get an available appointment that doesn't exist. It's a racquet. They take your money - but just try getting them to give you the lessons you paid for. They have the most insane policy that you have to pay the full fee upfront, then you have to go on their website everyday hoping to get an available driving time WHICH THEY DO NOT OFFER ON A REGULAR BASIS. Almost every day there are NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE. Because of Covid Students have to fight each other to get the scraps of someone else canceling their lesson. It's crazy but that's not the really bad part. They will only allow you a driving lesson when and if it's available, then if you find another available time it has to be at least 10 days after the last scheduled appointment. Of course it never is because there is no availability. It is more like 3-5 weeks later. Students are required to have 12 lessons before they can take their driver's test. That means you'd be incredibly lucky if you could schedule them in 6 months time BUT now with Covid appointments are so backed up you'd be lucky to get it in a year!! I called and wrote the company explaining my daughter was moving to FL in August and had to drive herself back and forth to school! and needed to get the required lessons in. They did absolutely nothing except tell me she wouldn't be able to get them in before leaving for school. Can you imagine we now have to pay for Uber every day for my almost 18 yo to get back and forth to school? And she has to fly back to MA just to take one lesson because she can't schedule them back to back. So she has to take 5 trips back and forth from school in order to finish lessons. What a total ripoff this company is. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I can't even begin to tell you how embarrassed we are because I recommended this place to 3 other Winchester families. They are struggling just as much. Their child who attends private school in Boston can't drive himself. He's nearly 18 yo. His parents are still driving him twice a day to school. A 3 hour endeavor since they have to drive him in in the morning come home then go back to pick him up. I feel so bad for getting my friends involved in this company!!!! read more

I am an adult in my early 30's and come from a country where we have right-hand drive instead of left. I chose CS driving school based on their stellar reviews. Even though I reside in Boston, I went to Waltham for my lessons, and they were worth it! I cannot recommend Anna highly enough. She is incredibly dedicated, objective, compassionate, patient, practical, and enthusiastic about what she does. Her passion for what she does is evident. There is no way I could parallel park so well on my driving test had it not been for Anna's methodical instructions. I took notes after each lesson to make sure that I practiced accordingly between lessons. Anna will give you pearls along the way, which are very helpful for test day. Also, she goes over fundamentals of not just the road test but also practical, everyday driving! She covered everything from parallel parking, 3-point turns, reversing 50 feet, right and left turns, controlled and uncontrolled intersections, right-of-way rules, entering and leaving a rotary, highway driving, turning on and off a curbside, and hand signals. If you follow what she says, there is NO WAY you will fail your road test. I highly recommend CS driving school. Laura is excellent with all lesson scheduling and customer service. I had a bad experience with one of the other instructors (who is no longer employed), and she made sure that lesson was not counted toward my package. Anna, Laura, and Bob run a fantastic, streamlined family-owned business, which has very high standards of excellent instruction and customer service. Put it this way---it would be virtually impossible to find a better driving school. Case in point? Our son! You see, despite being incredibly bright, he loathes school and anything remotely associated with it! So, just the thought of "school" or opening yet another book, God forbid, has him running for the hills! However, because he needed to take driver's ed, he acquiesced to do the intensive one week program here, to just get it over with. Well, my husband and I were pleasantly shocked to see just how much he actually enjoyed it. The reason why? One word: Ana ! Yes, Ana, the owner, is such a wondrous mix of all good things one needs to be to work with teenage boys-- silly, dynamic, theatrical, sarcastic, creative,---and cunning enough to be smarter than them! When all is said and done, no matter where you go the curriculum will be the same. So why not pick a driving school where your child will learn AND enjoy it? With a touch of motherly concern and keen teenage brain insight, (from raising teenagers herself), win some points with your teenager by singing him or her up today! My daughter just received her license yesterday with CS Driving. She is the third of my kids to go through the program and I highly recommend CS driving. Anna and Laura are attentive to the parents, engaging with the students and provide a well rounded program for all types of learners. They have been flexible with the driving and observation times that my daughter needed and made sure to get all her hours in so she would be able to take her road test when she first became eligible. During the road test Anna is there to guide each student with what they need to know before getting in the car and to put their minds at ease. I am so grateful to have found CS driving and now that I have all my children licensed, I would like other parents that might be on the fence as to which school to attend - give CS Driving School a try - you won't be disappointed! read more

We had a wonderful experience with CS Driving School! Anna created a classroom experience that was engaging for my daughter and taught her much more than just the "rules of the road" getting her to understand what to expect and why she shouldn't drive like most people do. this school is very frustrating at times. They dont tell you on the website or in person what your fees are actually paying for. I got the sponsorship fee for $180 after 2 driving instructors told me it included a 13th lesson before your road test, called them the day before and they told me its an extra $65 for only one hour of refreshing the buttons on the car. For all these expenses, it is not worth your money. It is hard to contact the office because it always seems to be closed. Their website says they are open on saturdays from 9-12 (which is a very short time period on a saturday to begin with), but every time I called, no one was at the office until 10 or 10:30. The people on the phone can be rude and condescending to teens, it kind of felt as if I was being taken advantage of at times because I'm young. read more

We used this school for my older son and it went really well. However, it appears that they have signed up many more students during COVID than they can actually accommodate for driving lessons. In addition to limiting students to 2 lessons per month, actually being able to schedule those two lessons is nearly impossible. They fill up minutes after they open. I'm disappointed that what I thought was the best option for driving schools in the area has made such a sharp decline. I understand completely that COVID created challenges but rather than recognizing the new limitations they used the online class option to sign up more students than ever and now aren't serving them. I regret signing up with them and certainly won't be using them for my youngest. read more
