We initially hired CT General Contracting to remodel our shower, which was an old insert likely installed several decades ago. Chris, the owner, is a friendly and down-to-earth guy who is incredibly easy to work with. He came over, discussed our needs, and presented us with different options. He appreciated some of our grand ideas and helped us turn our vision into reality. During the shower refurbishment, the team discovered a pinhole leak in my wife's bathroom (both bathrooms share the same wet wall) and was able to fix it quickly and inexpensively--what a relief! There were no setbacks, and his crew was a fantastic group of professionals. My positive experience led us to have them tile all our bedrooms, install ceiling fans in the house and on the patio, and now they are putting in a beautiful, efficient new water heater for us. Out of good business practice, I always obtain multiple estimates to ensure I'm getting the best deal possible. And guess what? I consistently find that I do. Like most relationships it started off beautiful. Please make sure and get ALL promises in WRITING. MAKE SURE YOU EVEN GET A CONTRACT! As, if something ends up on the invoice and you question he will come back aggressively. Particularly if you are a woman and he can try to intimidate you. The work performed was beautiful. Though it was tens of thousands of dollars over the original bid and two and a half months. And this is where the contention started. At the end of August when my house was supposed to be finished a few things showed up on the invoice that I had to question he responded aggressively immediately and it was negative from that point on. I found this interesting considering this was when the house was supposed to be finished. You think he would be kinder. If you have a man to deal with this person then you might be okay otherwise buyer beware do not use this contractor. He is not kind to woman. He has ZERO accountability. He also does not how to read a drawing from a professional and licensed designer and will fault you because he forgot a bunch of items on the original bid, as a result of not knowing how to read a drawing. He doesn't know how to do math either.Please make sure and get all promises in writing for that matter make sure you get a contract. If time frame, budget and accountability is not important to you then go with this guy he does great work. read more

If it weren't for Chris and his crew, I probably would've burnt this house to the ground by now. It was a mess when we bought it and we had no idea where to start. We talked to a few contractors in the area and Chris definitely understood the potential of the house better than we did, and what would work within our budget. His quote was clear and covered everything we needed, and he was great at adding and taking away things later on in the project as we changed our minds. Having never remodeled a house before, we weren't great at picking products/finishes to use either --he was helpful at making suggestions that would work well for the look of the house, and again, within our budget. I really needed and relied on his opinion throughout the remodel - he's got a great eye and coupled with awesome skills really helped us make wonderful decisions about the layout of everything from the bathrooms to the kitchen. He even made a custom vanity for our bathroom that looks incredible. He always showed up when he said he would and everything was exactly as promised. Plus, he's just a really nice guy.
