My husband, Jim, and I are wrapping up a very large project in La Quinta. As with many projects, our original plan was minor additions and renovations, and it snowballed into a full home overhaul, with additions, ceiling raises, a new kitchen and laundry, six and a half new bathrooms and a full courtyard gut and rebuild with waterfalls, hardscape, and landscape. We had already chosen Hanson Remodels as our builder, since Anders had done our complicated backyard landscape/drainage renovation three years prior. HIs abilities were proven to us in a smaller format then - we liked his honest and professional demeanor coupled with a mind for problem solving, design and value/add. He had initially been recommended to us by our landscape designer, Chris Hermann. Fast forward to completing our home overhaul: Anders once again proved to us he had all the qualities we were expecting and more. Our home had many complications to address that were unforeseen due to its original age, and we changed scope mid-project once my husband and I identified the improvements that were possible. Along with his very talented framer, Ed, and team, Anders was able to help create and design solutions that extended way beyond our expectations. Anders has a great design eye that proved remarkably helpful. We also credit our architects, Steve Nieto, and Chris Hermann, and several interior designers: Nancy Bishop, Betsy Dailey, Leslie Minervini, and Ali Willingham, that worked with us at various times, and Anders served as our team captain beautifully across the spectrum. Anders' communication abilities are spot on and timely, with the charming twist of his Norwegian accent. Even while grinding long days in the unbearable desert summer heat, Anders maintained his professionalism, sense of humor and was a true pleasure to work with. He truly cared that we were getting what we wanted and we are incredibly grateful that the end result is our dream home. Overall, I could not be any more satisfied with the work Anders and his team recently performed in my backyard, including demolishing an outdated stucco pool deck and replacing with modern pavers, installing proper drainage, planting three massive California fan palm trees and a new accent wall of tropical plants, installing new LED landscape and pool lighting, and installing a mowcurb border. I was 500 miles away the entire time and trusted Anders to oversee and ensure minimal disruption to my neighbors. He went above and beyond my expectations by proactively reaching out to my neighbors and checked in with them to keep the peace during all the pavers cutting and flying palm trees over the house. My neighbors indicated they were pleased with the work and appreciated their attention to minimizing disruption. I enjoyed receiving photos every evening of the work completed that day and learning what was coming next. I felt like I was there! Anders provided recommendations from our initial engagement until the end - including landscape design, lighting placement and plant advice. I really appreciated his expertise and glad I listened because the final product is phenomenal. He also demonstrated great care attention to detail. For example, the paint color for the pergola didn't exactly match his vision so he had his team come back and get it right. Also, Anders came back in the evening while I was there to make sure I was satisfied with the landscape light placement. And btw, it was well over 110 degrees every day and still Anders and his workers were committed to finishing the job early. I am an interior designer and work with contractors often. Hanson Remodels exceeded my expectations on a complicated window replacement project in Palm Springs. The house is a 1930's Spanish with original single paned windows. I needed to preserve the character. Anders' eye for design and knowledge of construction were crucial to the outcome. He was exceptionally adept at coming up with innovative ideas to preserve the character of an old Spanish home. His crew was great as well as his communication with me. Wow! Love Love Love what you created for us in our back yard. We knew we wanted a low maintenance "desert scape" but had no real idea what this conversion would look like and what it would cost. Sometimes things work out.... and it's really great when it does. We met Anders by fluke. I would love to say that we did our research, interviewed 10 contractors and found the perfect fit for us and our backyard remodel. We didn't. He came as a referral from RE agent we barely knew. After interviewing several contractors for my remodel project and not being impressed with any of them, I was referred to Anders (Hanson Remodels) by my pool contractor. Anders was prompt with return calls and had detailed quotes for me that were broken-down the way I requested to see the bid. The project was initially small in scope, but ultimately because I developed a high level of trust and respect for Anders I practically gutted and remodeled the entire house. I was on a budget but Anders was always willing to give me the good-better-best pricing scenario so I could decide what made the most sense for my needs. I worked with Anders and his team to remodel an old, existing master bathroom. Anders and his team did a great job and I am very happy with the outcome. I selected Anders after meeting with a number of other contractors and felt that he offered what I needed in terms of helping me with the design as well as providing creative ideas as I was having difficulty with a few major decisions.
