Great attention to detail, almost daily visits, wonderful landscaping, mowing, edging, sprinkler work. Once Trevor left, my experiences declined sharply. I was passed from one rep to another. The quality of the weekly service declined markedly. The costs incurred for services not rendered were amazing. I had to read the bill carefully, as extra mowing and treatments were not done but charged for. In the spring of 2018, they discovered a major valve leak in the main water supply to the sprinkler system because of putting off my winterization in the fall of 2017. It took 2 crews and 5 guys to repair. I had to argue and fight to not pay for the repair, which was because of their negligence. The work last summer was haphazard and shoddy. Little to no follow up despite calls and emails. I was then charged $539.03 in Nov/Dec 2018 for winter fertilization/sprinkler blowout and a final mow. This spring, despite the abundant moisture, my front yard was snow white as of 03.15.19. I was informed after requesting service, that Embassy "was no longer in the residential lawn care business". My new lawn company assured me that the yard had recieved no winter fertilizer/weed treatments....barely anything that I paid for in Nov/Dec 2018 was actually done. My new company is doing a soil sample to prove this. It doesn't state on this site that they are not in the residential business any longer, but I was so poorly treated from late 2017 through 2018, that I felt that I needed to vent and publically state what a disaster this experience was. If you have a business, DO NOT consider them for your landscape needs. Their guys actually run behind mowers, pay little attention to anything missed, do not edge correctly, may or may not blow off sidewalks and drives. Can't imagine them treating businesses better than individuals. I paid an average of $300/month for services. Should have bought a Snapper mulcher and done things myself. For a company with such a supposed great rep in KC, they certainly treated this homeowner very poorly.

That went sufficiently well although we had to wait a couple weeks. We subsequently asked him to do some front yard work including a border for our flower garden and install two trees. The border looks great however it was too far into the summer for the trees and it was suggested we wait until fall. Fair enough. It is now Thanksgiving and we've not heard a peep. It is a very small business that we think grew too fast to keep up which we can forgive. What we can't get past is that he effectively blew us off, never sending so much as a short text. Based on our experience we cannot recommend Over The Field Landscaping which is disappointing given what a nice guy Steve is and the quality of work his group seems to be capable of. The customer service is sadly very lacking and unacceptable.

They did a horrendous job grading our…read moreyard, and placed way too much dirt so our fence is bowing and now needs to be replaced - fence companies are concerned with replacing our fence because this company just piled dirt up and the ground is so uneven. When this was brought to their attention, I was told they couldn't safely get their machine beside the fence so the dirt would have to settle naturally. Guess that, three years later and it has not. And this was only told to us after complaining about the appalling job. They sodded our yard and placed straw which they failed to secure so it blew all over the place including our neighbors yard and our driveway. Since they are a drain company we expected expertise with drains in our yard. Instead they just cut the drains and left them up against our fence which eventually flooded our neighbors yard. We had to have a reputable company come out and reset the drains so we weren't flooding our neighbors yard. Also, as a drain company, you should know that drains need to be placed four feet from the neighbors yard (learned that from the reputable company that fixed the drain issues). When we asked for them to come fix their unacceptable work, they refused without charging additional money. I wrote a negative review on Google and they requested I take down the review - in exchange they offered to seed our yard instead of fixing their mistakes. BUT they placed so much cheap seed when they originally sodded our yard that we've been dealing with weeds for over three years now - paying companies to try and fix their mess and we still have weeds. Their abysmal work is an atrocious gift that keeps on giving. We had to spend additional money to fix the drains and now we may have to spend additional money to regrade our yard (which is what we paid them to do). Every year their deplorable work just causes us more money and headaches! I've reached out, asking for a partial refund to meet them half way and I was ignored. Beware!
