I will admit that I'm a pretty tough customer, but that never seemed to bother Frank. I went to CTC with my fiancee's sister to have an engagement ring made for my soon-to-be wife, after a friend recommended them. I had been researching prices on the internet and had a good idea of the type diamond I wanted, but had only a vague idea for the setting. Frank had to special order the yellow diamond because the ones he had in stock weren't exactly what we wanted. Frank worked with us to design a custom setting based pictures of a few different rings we had seen. It took several trips to the store to get the design just right, but in the end it was worth it. When the ring arrived it was absolutely perfect, and even better than the drawings and pictures. They kept in constant communication the whole time and were very patient even when I asked some pretty dumb questions. I recommend Frank and Kevin for any jewelry purchase, and they turned me into a life long customer. They are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I think most women has envisioned what their engagement ring would look like and me being one of them tried to instill these ideas to my fiance before he went out to get me a ring. I still wanted it to be a surprise but due to my fault of always telling him I wanted a sapphire that was really dark - practically black he went in search for that at CTC. Kevin showed him a whole little baggy full of black sapphires (from Thailand) and told him that those are not good quality sapphires and they're really cheap. My fiance not wanting to get me a cheap ring decided to go with his suggestion on a medium toned sapphire which is of high quality. When he proposed the ring was not only 2 ring sizes too big (again my fault as I told him a size i usually get from stores like HM, hey! I never had to get a fancy ring before) but the sapphire was not what I expected. The entire ring was just not me and I felt so torn on getting it redone or keeping it. After discussing with my fiance he wanted me to love the ring that I will be wearing forever and felt like "me." I went back to Kevin and had clearer design visions and specified I wanted a Sri Lankan sapphire which is naturally royal blue (or in darker blue hues) and I redid the setting to make the sapphire the focus. Kevin accommodated me to come in Christmas eve to start the process and a 1 month turnaround which would have been fine if I didn't have to go to LA to celebrate our engagement with my fiance's family. I only had about 3 weeks (especially with Christmas and NYE within that 1 month period). Kevin said he'd try his best to get it to me before I leave on my trip. I then continued to email him frantically as now the family is doing a gathering with family friends to celebrate and I definitely did not want to show up with no ring. Kevin was always very responsive and patient with me, even answering all my questions when they were paragraphs long. He got the ring done by Tuesday (2 days before I left), contacted me asap and even scheduled time for me to pick it up. I love this place! Frank and his sister and wonderful. My boyfriend and I had been talking about shopping around. My mother has been coming to Frank for jewelry for years, so I know he is knowledgeable and also would try his best to get us a good price. I let my boyfriend go to a mall store and then brought him to Frank. My boyfriend left Frank is such awe of how much he knew and how informed my boyfriend felt about the style, 4 C's, certification, etc. Frank took his time to explain and show him different diamonds as a reference. We initially wanted a rose gold ring but having the opportunity to try it on and have him explain the diamond's, I went with a platinum. To my surprise, my boyfriend was sold on the whole experience and felt comfortable enough to buy our rings on the spot. Frank sized us for bands and we pick out styles. The men selection is small compared to the women but my boyfriend also didn't want anything fancy so it worked out. At the end, we had rings within our budget with a beautiful diamond. A couple weeks later Frank had everything ready. He goes above and beyond because he even was part of scheming with my boyfriend about "not having my ring ready". I highly recommend Kevin and CTC! This is going to be a long review but my whole experience was phenomenal. My quest in finding a colored (pink) diamond engagement ring became a difficult task. I quickly found out that colored diamonds are extremely rare and there is no one same diamond due to the different color tones. After going to a few jewelers and looking at a few options, I still did not find one I fell in love with. I was referred to CTC through a friend and met with Kevin. He made me feel like family right away. He will listen to your needs and never once, did I feel like he was trying to upsell. I told him I didn't know anything about diamonds and he took the time to give me an in depth tutorial on the 4 C's and assured me by the end of the day I would be an "expert." I definitely felt much more knowledgeable after. Kevin showed me a few white diamonds so I can understand what the 4 C's really meant and what to look for under a magnifier. I actually fell in love with one of them and was very close to purchasing on the spot. But my heart was set on exhausting all resources in finding the pink diamond before I go with white. Kevin told me he would check his factory's inventory and let me know what he finds. After one week, he found me the perfect one within my budget! I don't even know where to begin or how to describe the experience I had shopping for engagement rings. The first couple of stores made me feel like i was a car dealership and they were pushing hard for a sale which I didnt appreciate nor did I like the assumption the staff had about financing. It was really unprofessional. I was referred to Frank and CTC Jewelers through a family friend and when I met Frank it was like a breath of fresh air. He is the kindest and most patient man you'll ever meet. I scheduled an appointment with him at 11:00 AM in the morning on Saturday (the store is closed and he opened it for me since it was the only time I had available) and I didn't leave until 3:30 PM or so. He walked me through the whole entire process about what to look for while shopping for an engagement ring and also provided pointers on how to take care of it as well. I first began by just simply looking at every ring that was available within the display cabinets and I mean we looked at everything. He pulled some engagement bands out multiple times and he remained patient which made the whole process easy. I never felt rushed at all with him throughout the whole process. We also were able to match and look at diamonds for each engagement band to really assess how the diamond would sit and would the cut be the most appropriate. The icing on the cake is the pricing for everything was amazing and I couldn't believe the appraisal either once I picked up the ring. The whole process to place the diamond within the engagement band took about a week and a half. The best and most amazing part is that my fiance loved the ring and everything about it. The whole experience was so just so amazing and Frank made me feel like I was part of the family. From now on I will only shop here for jewelry and I recommend that everyone else do the same. My family has been frequenting the Jewelry Center since the 80s. The building itself is actually owned by a very close friend of ours and through the years all of our jewelry needs from watches to diamonds have been fufilled at this location. My brother introduced me to Kevin and Frank in the spring of 2004. They have a shop in the building and they specialize in diamonds. I had just made up my mind to purchase my soon to be wife's engagement ring - so there I was. I had been saving money since 2000 even before I met Nina, a friend of mine recommended creating a ring fund...despite not having any particular woman in mind just yet. I began saving $100 a month for about 4 years. I invested it in primarily utilities and small cap stocks -- that did very well for this time period. When I finally made the decision to purchase this ring, I had a total of $10,285. The ring that I ended up purchasing from Kevin and Company amounted to be 16k. (Stats: 1.6 Round Karat Solitaire, Platinum mounted, GIA Certified, Colorless D, Vs2, Medium Blue Flourescence). I recently had it appraised and insured at 26k. Kevin even allowed me to take the ring to Paris, France eventhough I still owed him some money. I proposed to Nina atop the Eiffel Tower(way before Tom proposed to Katie). REPAIRS: I'm quite clumsy and there has been a few times I damaged my jewelry and they were able to repair the pieces to look brand new. The cost for repairs are always very reasonable.
