Hubby and I ate here our first night in Cozumel this year. We had the guacamole to start, and split the carne asada tacos and fish tacos for our main. Hubby also got a classic margarita. The guacamole was prepared fresh and was delicious, and came with just enough chips. The carne asada taco came with pickled onions, and I wish it had a few more onions on each, as the flavor was a little mild for my liking. The fish tacos were slightly fishy, but not in an un-fresh way. We're pretty sure the fish was lionfish based on the taste, although the waiter claimed they were grouper. Definitiely didn't taste like grouper. Hubby loved the margarita. Pro tip: if it's summer time, you'll get more of a breeze sitting outside under an umbrella compared to "inside". read more

I really wanted to like this place but sadly, I was just not pleased. They were very pricey ($2 USD) per taco. The food was a little too salty. The customer service was great and that's why I am giving them a 2-star review. However, we did leave a lot of food behind because we just didn't really like it that much. read more

On our last day in Cozumel, the wife and I decided to drive into downtown and folllow up on a recomendarían from the server, Jose, over at Kondesa. Personally, I am glad that I did. I had the cuatro tacos: Carne Asada, Choriqueso, Campechano and Al Pastor. Amazing! I personally like good salsas and they did not disappoint. If you like spicy, they have a green habanero/tequila/onion salsa that is very Spicy! They also have a pineapple salsa that second on the Spicy meter. You then have a red and green salsa more on the mild side. Great place to have midday snack and it's also just around the Malecón. Check it out! read more

I have tasted the best tacos in the world and they are at this little cafe in Cozumel. They have a wide variety of tacos made with fresh ingredients. The tacos have deep flavor and are delicious. I don't know how they achieve perfection with such simple ingredients. This small casual spot is just 2 doors down from Lobster Shack! This little spot has delicious tacos for a good price (for the area) we felt like 4 tacos was too much for 1 Person. Shouldve stuck to 3. The tacos were all delicious, wish they had double shell bc one of my taco got too wet and the shell started to fall apart. Flavor is there and they give you alot of meat on the little tortilla. Came because the reviews were great but turns out not so much. The quac was very little for the price and the chips were harder than anything.. We also had a problem with the tacos.. we specifically said we don't eat pork and when I tried the last taco it definitely was pork the waiter said no it's chicken then later another guy said he accidentally gave us pork..... then disappeared. Definitely would not recommend this place at all. Horrible service. read more

My husband and I have eaten here twice now during our trips to Cozumel. We enjoy the ambiance, attentive staff, and good food at Cuatro Tacos. We each got four tacos - ranging from the special of the day which was al pastor, steak alambre, campechano, and choriqueso. I'd recommend the al pastor for sure - super yummy with pineapple and onion on top. Beware of the super hot salsa they serve with it. A little pricy - eight tacos, chips and guac, and two sodas ran us about $26 US. read more

About a half a block off of the ocean in downtown Cozumel, this little unpretentious gem of a restaurant was outstanding for the delicious food and street side dining ambience. It's a limited menu but all of it packed a powerful flavor punch. We had 4 tacos (all different from about 8 choices), pollo Gringa (think quesadilla) and 3 beers for $20. Do not fail to try the salsa made from pineapple, onions and jalapeño. They did not have any guacamole because "the avocados did not look good today". They do only accept cash/pesos so make sure you have some, if not there is an atm just a few feet away. The prices are great! 4 tacos for $7 they even have a deal where you can try all the tacos! Their salsas were incredible! I am a fan of spicy food and their habenero pineapple salsa and the tequila based salsa were to die for! please if you have a moment check this place out you will not regret it! The taco tasting for two is a fun way to try a bunch of different flavors and fills you up for a very reasonable price. The coconut margarita was the best cocktail I had all week! The tacos are good but a little dry. Would definitely recommend mixing things up with the different salsas they give you.
