NO WARNING THEY ARE DONE BEING 24/7. WAS the only available store in town that is 24/7, it's the only reason I do all my shopping there. I count on it to get food on lunch breaks during the night, or groceries when I get off of PM shift late. I guess they didn't care enough to put a warning message out ahead so people knew they can't count on them. I work doubles for the next few days and now can't get myself and animals what they need. Stopped in for some groceries a couple money orders Todd who was my cashier through the checkout lane with my groceries when above and beyond to help me very friendly with a smile on his face! However, when I went to customer service the girl working this evening 7/26/24 I waited for 6 min for her to conversate with an ASL customer, (who was not needing customer service) I was not greeted, I was not told to hold on a moment, needless to say I left and will get my money orders elsewhere.. There is no staffed checkouts available for my large order at 9:45 PM. Every other grocery store I've ever been to has had at least one staffed lane open. They had a lane open specifically for Instacart and DoorDash, but refused to check out my groceries. Had to completely state that I was gonna leave my whole cart and just check my business elsewhere for them to open up a lane and check me out. read more

Produce is often rotten or very close to rotting. I'm so tired of buying produce and then the next day it's rotten. Most food here is more expensive than other stores. On average everything is $1 more per item. Maybe it's to offset the fact that it's open 24 hrs? I end up going to Cub frequently because it's the closest grocery to my house. But the produce care needs to be way better. I'm so tired of taking the chance and wasting money. read more

I went to this location of Cub this past Saturday night and really had a great experience customer service wise. A young female employee I spoke with was very attentive and caring, and my cashier was very friendly and grandmotherly in a cool way. I would have given this location five stars, but I went there for one item only, a cake that I could have for the Super Bowl. My cake was dry and very hard when I cut into it. Other than that, I had a very, very positive experience with the customer service here and would definitely highly recommend it on customer service alone. read more

Well, they lost a long time customer tonight. Been shopping there 10+ years. Family of five, spend around 8-9k there every year. Been disappointed for awhile with their new management. The produce, bakery, etc. been going downhill. Now they got some new computers & wouldn't take my check 'cause the #'s on the check are too low? Same check book I used two weeks ago & two weeks before that & on & on for months. Been at the same bank for over 20 years. Spent almost two hours of shopping with my ten year old daughter for Thanksgiving stuff, etc. No reason to think after a decade they would refuse to cash my check. I walked out, my daughter was crying. Smdh Never ever again. Hope it was worth it. Super One it is from now on. What a way to treat people. read more

I'm a big fan of Cub Foods. They have a large variety of everything, open 24/7 including most holidays and they are competitive when it comes to price. I've never purchased something out of date or bad from here. Fruit and Vegetables are as fresh as can be. Service at the checkouts is usually very quick unless the day before Thanksgiving where its still moves along. read more

So, don't go here for organic food, lemme tell ya. I found Bob there. An expensive Bob. It was Bob's almond flour. And you will pay the price for it. $12 you can get yourself a small measly pound of it. Is it worth it? Yes, if you are sensitive to gluten, or are looking for a low carb alternative. But do you buy it here? I wouldn't, considering it runs around $9-$10. Cub foods also carries Siggi's! Be prepared to pay the price for those too. $2.19 each. When I stopped by there today the Acai flavor was the last one, so those go pretty quick :(. They were stocked up on the pomegranate flavor though. Also picked up some raspberries (Nonorganic), & I open the container today, and I find there's MOLD inside! Then as I start to realize after I eat a few, that inside the berry it has a weird seafoam green tint... not normal. So basically the whole pack I had to throw away. BOO. What I really like about this store is the ethnic food section. You can even purchase Marmite here! Do you know how rare that nasty stuff in the US is? Even though it's a British spread, it's found in the German food section. Also there's a small Indian foods part too, in addition to Italian, Hispanic & Asian. read more

We've shopped this store since being relocated to Duluth. I love the place but here's the reason for 1 star. Stop pushing your customers to the self checkout! You are doing so by keeping your clerks down to two or three on a busy weekend shopping morning like a Saturday. You will lose my patronage if this continues. I do not work for you nor do the other customers who use your store. As I stood in line this morning I observed person after person using your self checkout isles because of the too few clerks in the checkout isles. I am more than willing to pay a few cents extra on my purchases if it means you're staffing your checkouts with adequate help, it not only benefits the customers, it also benefits the local economy as well. If this is the trend you're setting I will utilize Super One stores instead. I will be watching this situation over the next month...if there is no change I will change stores. This is no light decision...I was a boy when the first Cub opened in Fridley, Minnesota. I remember our shopping trips when you had flat carts and we copied the price onto items with a wax pencil from the posted price. 50 years of doing business with your store is why I'm taking the time to write this. read more

I was shopping at cub foods in duluth, mn this morning and I felt so safe. Everyone had mask on and the clerks were wiping the counters after the groceries went through the check-out. I am sorry to report that, for the second time now, I have encountered bottles of Powerade that were opened by someone and drank out of, or possibly even contaminated in some way. My guess is that this is the doing of one of the many beggars who are now regularly posted up at the corners of the parking lot exit. I have found their garbage lying around the grounds of the parking lot, and even found one of their cardboard signs discarded on the floor just inside the pharmacy entrance of the store. I once found a half-drank bottle of cooking wine (that came from inside the store, no doubt) sitting on top of one of the metal structures along the outside of the building. I have no way of knowing for sure whether it's beggars that are doing this, though they would have to be the primary suspects. Either way it's a major problem. I cannot shop at this store not knowing for sure whether the food I buy has been contaminated. I can no longer be a Cub Foods customer. read more

Cub has changed, it seems nobody is taught how to treat customers. The bakery isn't good anymore, I find stale bread etc. on shelves. The deli has an abundance of crabby old women (Lisa twice snapped at me). I won't go to the deli anymore. I can't find things sometimes and no employees are around to ask. I've been coming to this Cub for probably two or three years. I switched over from going to SuperOne. SuperOne was fine, but Cub's aisles are wider and this Cub was nearer to me vs. SuperOne, and it seems like their prices are a bit lower and selection a little broader. They have a fair amount of Mexican foods, which I appreciate. I particularly think an African American woman named Dee should be called out for special recognition for the amazing job she does as a cashier. I remember one trip I took this summer where she pulled my tacos out for special bagging to keep them from being potentially broken in another grocery bag. She also made a point of telling me she could ring up my watermelon and Pepsi without physically grabbing it, so I didn't have to put it on the conveyor belt. And she worked hard to help make sure I got every dime from coupons and got my gas card swiped. In essence, she made my trip memorable because she seemed to care about me having a good experience. During this whole Covid-19 mess, I decided to get a ton of groceries so that I didn't need to keep coming back to the grocery store. While choosing what I want, one worker in particular named Justen(idk why it's en), showed me kindness in my time of confusion and talked to me about products and spoke to me like a friend. This Cub Foods used to have a "natural" food section. However, sometime in the last four years while I lived on the east coast this store did away with this section for unknown reasons. Trying to find all the items I used to purchase in that section now presumably buried in the rest of the large store has been impossible. Recently I made my final attempt, but the rotting and moldy food on the one wall of organic produce in the produce section turned me off completely. The prices were just insane as well. Maybe there is a good reason why organic produce/food is a lot cheaper in Boston compared to Duluth, MN, less transportation and more competition perhaps, but why should I pay $$$ for rotten or rotting organic produce? The Whole Foods Co-op in Duluth also has inflated prices, but at least their produce isn't rotten and I can find the other organic items I need in short order. Get a clue Cub. read more
