Empanada
Daphne R.

I've ordered the empanadas multiple times and beef is my favorite. I love that it's full of flavor. The avena is also very delicious. they also have an espresso machine so the coffee is amazing. I would definitely recommend and will continue to visit the spot. The staff are always so nice which is a plus.

Hands down some of the best cubano sandwiches in the area! But don't forget the other options on the menu, I always take a few empanadas and papa rellenos when I go to pick up my order.

Cuban Sandwich. Perfectly toasted and moist and tender inside. With the perfect pickle crunch!

After passing by this place numerous times after work, I finally got a chance to try what they are calling "Cuban Sandwich King". They must close fairly early since they are closed when I pass by at 6pm. So this was a Saturday that I was able to make this visit. When I walked in, I was taken aback. Very basic and not much personality. Now I'm getting nervous. The gentleman that helped me was extremely nice. I looked at a menu and it was fairly simple. Hey. Then again... What are going to get at the Cuban Sandwich King??? Hence, that is what I got. When I got home, I immediately tore into this. It was phenomenal. King?? I'm not 100% sure on that but very close in the chain of command. I was fearing it would be dried out. Complete opposite. Perfectly toasted and just so satisfying. Definitely swing by if you're in the area for lunch and grab one of these babies. They do a great job!!!

Nice sandwich shop located in Lyndhurst. Two tables for seating and two counter stools. Mostly takeout. Good for breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Good cappuccino. Friendly service. Warm atmosphere.

Ordered for pickup and added 2 empanadas to my order when I was there. The chicken empanada was better than the beef, but both were good/okay. The Cuban sandwich was sooooo delicious! Must try!!! Made to perfection, bread was nicely pressed and the cheese was stretchy

I randomly drove by Andris one day and noticed this small place on the corner . Usually I travel to North Bergen and Union city to get my Cuban food. After seeing good reviews I knew I had to make a stop. If this place was good and I didn't have to drive to NB for a Cubano. I'm sold . Signs of a great Cuban sandwich shop. 1) when you walk in they are playing Cuban/Latin classics . 2) husband and wife ( I believe) combo. He was slapping together the sandwich's and she was pounding out the empanadas like a well oiled machine . 3) fridge was filled with Cuban soft drinks ( as well as others ) I started with the classics before trying anything else . I got the Cubano sandwich and a beef empanada. My opinion ..... well they didn't last more then 5 mins . They had no chance when they were tasting that good!!! Good food . Very nice owners . Can't wait to go back and try the other stuff . My wife has already given me her order hahaha

Their empanadas and Cuban sandwiches are awesome. Also they have all the Spanish Sodas that you can't find anywhere

Stuffed yuca (beef)

When I first stepped into this place, I had a good feeling about this cuban. Came here with some co-workers, before one of them could ask what the cuban special was the guy behind the counter read his mind and told us it had chorizo in it. So of course we all got the Cuban Special. While I was waiting i got the beef stuffed yuca, there was nothing yuca about it. Nicely fried on the outside but still soft on the inside and the beef wasn't dry at all. Now on to the sandwich: Bread - crispy as it should be, you hear that nice crunch when you bite in. Pork - the ham was good, and the shredded pork was not dry Pickles - Needed more Chorizo - Nice addition to the sandwich Cheese - I wanted a little bit more Garlic Sauce - very tasty, recommend getting a side of it to add some more flavor Overall a very good sandwich, I do wish it was a little bigger though. It is definitely on my list for as one of the better cuban sandwiches I have had in the area.

Great place and service. One of the best sandwiches I have eaten thus far. The owner is super friendly and respectful. Great spot at a great price. Highly recommend it. Have to try the empanadas also.

My favorite iced coffee!!

Just didn't have the Cuban sandwich taste. We were both disappointed and were expecting something more.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ El Rumberito - Delicious sampler had a combination of different tapas - Ham Croquette, Corn Tamale, Beef Empanada, Corn Fritters, Crispy Pork Bites and a Beef Stuffed Potato Topped With Pickle Red Onions. Definitely a good way to try everything. + Poquito de Todo - The sampler of entrees here! Literally, a little bit of everything - roasted pork, shredded beef, steamed cassava with mojo, sliced avocado, one fried egg & fried sweet plantains - and it was alllll delicious. + Lechon Asado - The lechon was excellent! Some dry pieces here and there, but most of it was juicy and had oil slathered on it. There was a large piece of delicious, crispy skin on top and it came with 1 side. + Sandwich Cubano and Fries - Solid Cuban sammie. Bread was extra crispy and the sammie was well put together. THE SERVICE ------------------- + PHENOMENAL service! ++++ All of the busboys were on the tee with their timing of clearing plates. ++++ Our waiter was friendly, courteous and very professional. He remembered every request we had. ++++ Food arrived quickly and fresh. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Big restaurant with plenty of tables and seats. + Simply, but nicely decorated inside. + Private parking lot outside and it's valet, however, if you arrive at opening, you can park in the lot before the valet arrives. There are street parking spots available too. + Restaurant is located right off of NJ-21. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Arrived right at opening on a rainy, summer Saturday morning at 11:30 AM and, of course, we were the first customers inside. We stayed till about 1 PM and there were about only 6-7 tables occupied during our time there, however pretty sure evenings are a wholeeee different story (and much livelier).

My husband ordered a chicken empanada and it was filled with chicken and rice and not fully fried. When I asked the server to fry it some more, she brought a new one out that was a bit more fried but just as pale as the first one. The inside was not tasty at all and it was definitely not colombian. Then there was the stale Colombian beef empanadas. These were probably the worst of all. We also ordered a bread that we asked if it was filled with cheese, the server said yes....and it had ham and cheese, so my son did not eat it. This could've just been a miscommunication, but most places tend to clarify when it is not just cheese, but also includes something else with it. The menu is very small, so I decided to order a burger which was made with pulled beef and was actually delicious. They also have Colombian style scrambled eggs and coffee which my husband liked. If it's just based on food I would say it was 50/50 your chances of getting something tasty, but because the service was not attentive or friendly (we were the only people in the cafe for awhile), it is not a place I would return to. Maybe it was just an off day?

The service is on point and Rebecca, the barista is so skilled! I saw her making a ton of orders for customers coming in and she's a pro! I love the ambiance and the decor. I did a little work and if I lived in the area, this would be my go to place to bring my laptop. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. The footlong Philly cheese steak was very good and you can share that with two people because it's big! Unless you're super hungry! The owner let me record him making an espresso and that was really cool! I highly recommend you try this coffee shop.
