Always has been a go to spot, gives you exactly the Cuban flavor you want with the price that make sense. Servers very efficient and always attentive. Hope it will be, what Ive known since I grew up with, forever.

The BEST Cuban sandwiches. I moved out of the area years ago, but always make a pit stop if I'm around. And for $4.95? You can't beat it. The nicest women work behind the counter. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and homey. Quick service and cozy, casual decor. Parking can get tricky, but it's bergenline, so that's nothing new. There are a few tables inside and bar top if you're eating in. Due to COVID, there are limited tables. But takeout is always a great option!

Amazing cuban food right on Bergenline! Located only a few blocks from Hudson County Park and with its own parking lot in the back, it's much more accessible than other restaurants in the area. The ropa vieja, masitas, moro, and tostones are delicious. Their cuban sandwiches are always perfectly toasted bread and with cheese melted exactly into the pork and ham. Love love love!

FAVE Sopa De Pollo EVER!!!! The broth was delicious, the big pieces of carrots were amazing & the pasta shells, were A MAGNIFICENT SURPRISE!

Highly recommend coming to Gilberto's for their awesome Sopa de Pollo!!!! Seriously, my all time fave. I can't waitttt to be back for it!! As well as for their: Cuban Sandwich, Baked Chicken & Chicken Tenders & French Fries.

The sandwich Cubano omg delicious!! You have to check them out. Goes well with Brix City beer!

Make sure they give you this bread. It will change your life.

Do not judge a book by its cover! This definitely holds true for Gilberto's. Yes, they use cheese singles on top of cheesy eggs, but that just adds to the homemade feel of the place. I mean, you're paying less than 5 bucks for eggs, meat, buttered bread, and coffee. Stop complaining. The best thing about Gilberto's is their chicharron de pollo. This is hands down the best chicharron de pollo on the whole strip. The skin is so crunchy and buttery that it's almost sinful. They serve it with white onions on top and it is the perfect accompaniment to the dish. The staff are always friendly. There's these older ladies that are always smiling when they serve your food. I do think they are a little bit entertained by a Spanish speaking Asian so they talk to me nonstop to test my Spanish skills. Hey, I am not complaining. Attention? Give me more! This sounds like a step that you can easily pass on, but don't. Make sure you ask for the buttered bread. It is crispy on the outside, but oh so buttery, warm, and soft on the inside.

This little hole in the wall Cuban Diner is amazing and nostalgic. Prices are amazing and the service is awesome. I ordered in Spanish the only way you should at a place like this lol. For my meal I had the Lechon Asado (Pork) with maduros, black beans, and White rice. It was the best Lechon I've ever had in my life. For about $11 I had the meal and two drinks which is a steal. Highly recommend this place and I'll be back for sure.

Great cuban sandwiches!! Their steak sandwiches with papa frita is awesome too. I always get sopa de pollo with anything. Always order croquettas or papa renella. Never disappointed.

Best media noche in Hudson County hands down!

Delicious old school spot for Cuban sandwiches, steak sandwiches and more. I would suggest the empanadas, chicken soup, ropa vieja.

For starters, they have free 1-hour parking (with validation) right next door which is a huge perk! Second, they're cash only. Third, this is definitely a local spot and despite a slight language barrier, the staff were incredibly warm & friendly. We ordered the Grande Pan con Bistec w Queso which is their large steak sandwich. We decided to split it and ended up ordering another sandwich midway through because it was that good. The sandwich is simple - steak, fries, onions, and cheese. The bread was the perfect texture and thickness, the steak was plentiful, the fries were salty & crispy, and the onions were tangy & bright. They're also known for their smoothies so we got two. Mamey is a tropical fruit tree native to southern Mexico and Central America. The flavor is closest to a melon, sweet potato, and caramel. I enjoyed this one but it's definitely on the sweeter side. Guanabana is soursop which is more custardy, sweet like banana and tangy like pineapple. I absolutely loved this one! This meal was so simple yet so satisfying. I highly recommend checking them out!

She decided to come on a Saturday night as they have a live DJ. The restaurant has valet parking, but my husband and I opted to park in a local parking garage and walk over. It was about two blocks. The place is absolutely stunning! It is located right across from the city where you can enjoy beautiful views of the skyline and water. The restaurant has several gorgeous chandeliers and a very upscale vibe. The dining area seemed to be split in two and we sat in what seemed to be the main dining area, with the bar. But there was another extended area beyond. I was completing dry January so opted to have a mocktail. I had a guava margarita mocktail and let me tell you... This was the best mocktail I've ever had! A lot of times when I order one it just literally tastes like soda. I'm not sure exactly what they put into this one, but there was a smoky finish that made it taste like there was mezcal. Even my husband was surprised at how delicious it was and how much it resembled an alcoholic drink. I was elated to actually have a delicious tasting non-alcoholic drink. (For once) To eat, my husband and I shared the antojitos sampler. This made more sense for us than getting the individual appetizers we got - as that way would have been more expensive and we wanted to be able to try multiple things. The sampler came with ham & cheese croquetas (which were my husband's fave) mixed empanadas, maduros rellenos, queso Fritos y chicharrones. The fried cheese, maduros & chicharrones were my fave even though it was all amazing. For dessert, we had flan and sadly that was a miss for me. My grandmother's Puerto Rican flan will always top any that I try, so idk why I try lol Their spin is to add pineapple and I didn't like it. All in all, it was a wonderful birthday celebration and the birthday girl enjoyed the food & the vibe. Thanks for having us Son Cubano! I will be back to try your brunch!

The food was mediocre, and the noise level was so high it made the whole experience less enjoyable. Maybe that's why our waiter kept mixing up drink orders. The woman who answered the phone also lacked basic courtesy. When I called to ask if they could accommodate a party of seven, she said "yes" and immediately hung up. No "thank you," no "see you soon," no request for a name. Just... click. We later noticed on our bill that it was "Havana Thursdays" with a pre-fixe dinner option, something no one bothered to mention. Why keep that a secret? And by 10:30 the place was a ghost town--no last call, no notice, nothing. Overall, communication was poor and everything else was just mediocre. Do better.
