I was heavily pressured to make a reservation even though I made it clear that I was just considering renting a unit and had no plans. I got a text message a few days before the potential move in date asking if I wanted to continue with reservation or cancel it. It gave the option of Y to continue or reply N to cancel. I replied N and surprisingly received a message back saying " may I ask why you want to cancel?" I responded with explaining that I am moving into an apartment, have no idea when I can come back to it and will most likely just send my belongings out of state. They sent me a message the next morning to complete the reservation so apparently they did not cancel when I requested and they clearly received my message. It seems they have an extremely aggressive sales practice coming across as desperate and disrespectful. read more

Rat issue. Rat issue. Rat issue. I noticed there were traps in the front of the store but not towards my storage unit area. I was utterly disgusted to see rat droppings, urine, and massive holes in boxes that housed my priceless possessions. My trip was to drop a few winter items and instead witnessed this repulsive horror. Managers failed to offer any solutions or options besides "We know this is a problem" and "We can move you to climate control units". No. No I do not want to move. My stuff is ruined and the best option is to move it? Cubesmart failed miserably to notify me as a tenant and at minimal send an email letting me know there is a rat infestation. Their negligence has resulted in my items being ruined and probably laced with diseases carried from rats. I have attempted several times to reach out to management to find a solution like them helping clean/move my items into truck, etc. Any smidge of customer service would be helpful besides no options. This is the worst storage unit facility and I strongly discourage anyone from renting a unit with them. You will be disappointed and probably get rats in your unit as well. You've been warned. read more

The facility is in good shape, clean, seems secure. Ran into a huge hurdle with it last month, however, and it completely soured me on the place. I tried to access my climate-controlled unit and the code to the building had been changed. I received no notification of the change, no one was in the office, the onsite manager wasn't home, no one answered any of the numbers posted online or onsite, no one on the web chat answered in the 45 mins I waited before giving up, and I never received an answer to the voicemails I left. When I finally reached someone the following week he apologized and sent me the code, but wouldn't do anything to make it right. He said I should have gotten an email with the new code, but I never received that email in my inbox or junk mail. Of course the emails notifying me any time payment is due come through regular as clockwork with no issue, as do annual increases to monthly fees; it's unfortunate that that level of diligence doesn't extend to supporting their longtime customers. I was accessing the unit to get cold weather gear for a trip I was taking the following day with family. I ended up spending time I didn't have to do last-minute shopping and pay several hundred dollars out of pocket to buy duplicate gear. This was a super frustrating failure of customer service and I'll be switching storage facilities as soon as I'm able. read more

I moved my stuff into this place and after being there for less than 2 months, they raised the rent. Not a very good business practice. Textbook bait and switch. That's shady in my opinion. read more

RATS! RATS! RATS! RATS! RATS! This should be your reason not to visit this place. PERIOD. This company/location/management is the saddest excuse of a company. The management here is some of the shadiest I have seen. Not only will they lie to your face to get your business, they will not help you when you need to resolve a problem. The problem was a rat problem. All of our stuff was destroyed and Cubesmart did nothing to help. To say these guys are human would be a compliment, no normal human sleeps at night when something likes this happens to all tenants. I would not trust this company with anything, anymore. Major rat problem. I will preface the following by saying I would never write a negative review unless I felt it was completely warranted. When I found this facility and the pricing that went along with it I was ecstatic. The staff was friendly and helpful with the set up and any questions we had. Fast forward a few months later and unfortunately this feeling changed quickly. Upon bringing some additional items to the unit before our upcoming departure I discovered something startling. I personally witnessed a large rat running across the back wall of our unit and noticed droppings on the floor. Being extremely alarmed by this, I placed multiple traps in the unit. Upon return to the unit a couple days later, our worst fear was confirmed. The traps yielded large rats. We kept no food in the unit and made every effort prior to the move in to seal our belongings. As movers arrived a couple days later, we became aware that this was a much bigger problem than we ever anticipated. The back half of the unit, along with most of our furniture (which was fortunately wrapped in plastic wrap) and boxes, were covered in urine and feces. This forced us into the painstaking process of opening every box in our unit to make sure there were no rats or droppings before the items were moved to our new apartment. Even after the boxes that did not appear affected were moved, we had to extensively clean all belongings, knowing the health risks associated with rats and what they leave behind. While the management has began to place traps around the facility, it was too late for us. I would advise anyone considering this facility to proceed with extreme caution so this doesn't happen to you. I hope CubeSmart is able to eradicate the problem, but I wouldn't wish our experience here upon anyone. read more

HUGE RAT AND ROACH INFESTATION PROBLEM. DO NOT bring your business here. I've had my things stored since February of this year and after some travels came back to find EVERYTHING I owned was urinated and defecated on by rats. Not once did management send one mail notice or one email to let me know so that I could handle the issue and store my items elsewhere. This is the WORST management and WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They did not offer to compensate me for any storage rent, and did not even apologize for being 100% negligent in letting their customers know they were having a rodent infestation. I hope this places loses ALL customers, they do not deserve to be kept in business. read more

I have used this facility for about three years, but the management recently changed hands to CubeSmart. What a professional, helpful team! We recently had a complicated transfer of ownership and they handled it so smoothly. I also rented another unit and apparently did not attach the lock correctly, but they notified me and took the time to show me how to secure it properly. The location is great, the place is clean, it really is cool in the summers in the climate-controlled units and I've only seen very minor water seepage on the first floor (and only after a monsoon). I did a lot of comparison shopping when looking for the second unit, but I ultimately stayed here because the prices are some of the best in Austin and I knew the service would be good. CubeSmart also has online billing, which makes it easy to manage your account from anywhere. read more

Everything about it was great - EXCEPT - they kind of trap you into taking their first month of insurance because you can't rent without it and they don't tell you to bring your homeowner's policy in. SOOOO - if you want to save that additional and completely unnecessary cost - take your policy in. I would have had to go back to my house, find the policy, etc. and I had a load on the way to Cubesmart and no time to do that. read more
