Used to live down the street, but more recently in Eado. We shopped around for a storage unit to declutter our townhouse and happened upon this place. I was surprised it was a little cheaper then several of the others in the area, but maybe I just got lucky. Reserved a unit online, arrived at their location shortly after they opened on Sunday morning, but was in and out. Staff were efficient and got us setup quickly. The facility itself seems spotless inside, and allows for access during almost the entire day. First month's rent was free. Definitely check them out if you need a storage unit in the immediate area. read more

Beware the price increases. My storage unit went from $219/month to $315/ month in less than 16 months (two price increases without warning). At the same time, one of the doors to my unit had constant problems opening and closing. Instead of fixing it, the manager hung a sign on it that said "Out of Order." That would have been fine except that it didn't seal shut which means there was no longer "climate control." When I told him I was going to write to corporate because they had plenty of time to fix it, he said, "You're not promised working doors in your lease." It took me a month, but I got my stuff out of there. The rate increases are an abusive business practice, especially considering the facility issues and lack of customer service. (This is the location on Beamer Rd and the Beltway in Houston, Texas.) read more

this review is to acknowledge Jasmine at the 15707 Bellaire location. I thought I lost my key to my storage so I called the location. I spoke with Jasmine who patiently informed me of my oprions so that together we could decide on a plan of action. She was kind, informative and reassuring. I was freaking out initially but Jasmine let me know it was gonna be okay because this type of thing happens from time to time. First, I did not appreciate the hard sell I got from the main number people. Couldn't answer my questions but pressed me at least five times to sign up during a 1 minute conversation. Second, the Cube Smart on Bellaire was 80 degrees and cloyingly humid the two times we went there. The air con was broken, in my opinion, and didn't appear to be a priority, just like all the burnt-out lights. Third, they sold us used boxes. I didn't realize it until I got home and smelled the overpowering perfume and saw the tape. Why put used boxes out for sale? Why sell them to us as new? Fourth - just two carts for the entire facility "because customers stole them". Bring your own carts because this place is cutting corners on everything. Fifth - one person behind the desk who does it all. Really? Six people waiting, and each person needs at least 15 minutes. Do the math. This place used to be good but appears to be scrimping on basic maintenance, repairs and staff. Not recommended. read more

This company is misleading it's customers. They give you the 1st month free (like most storage companies) then you pay the original price. But they Never tell you that if your belongings are still there after 6mths theres an increase in your bill. And every 6mths after that. In the end of your just need a storage with climate control for a few months, it's fine but anything more then that I suggest looking somewhere else. read more

Let me start by saying I give the two stars because I'm tired of having my unit broken into and my property stolen. Twice in about a year. The first time, unit was locked, no damage to the unit, grand total of about $15k worth of AV equipment and other household item. Second time same thing except the lock was missing too. This time I was fortunate in that they only got away with about $5k worth.Camera coverage is anemic at best and only covers the front doors. Don't expect to have any video recovered if you have anything stolen. Their BS insurance covers NOTHING but you are required to have it. Other than not having anything left to move after your leasesis up, it's a fine place. Update: Notice that every time someone posts about having their unit broken into someone posts the same ole lame ass reply that they're sorry and want to look into it. BS! BS! BS! I contacted you THREE times with ALL of my contact information in hopes that you'd actually contact me but your fake concern is as evident as the 12" gap at the top of EVERY storage unit. It makes a nice shopping window! You have to key-code into the place and key-code out but oddly enough, there's never any damage to the facility entrances. Kinda sorta makes one think the POS stealing everyone's stuff is a tenant. I mean why not...there are no cameras in any of the passage ways. read more

CubeSmart Self Storage - Items not covered by BS insurance. So what exactly are you supposed to keep here?! - Self Storage Near Me - Houston, Texas

1) Buyer beware - i was only in the facility for 5 months before they raised rates from $162 to $204. I was able to negotiate down to $173 by calling corporate. Then found out my storage neighbor was only paying $140 for the same size. 2) If you move out early, you are not pro-rated. You pay the entire month in advance. 3) The entrance gate to the facility in Plano (N Avenue) has been broken 9 out of the 10 times I have visited - random dates. No clue how often it was actually working. 4) Only 2 of the 5 carts were available to use. The rest were stolen/not returned/out-of-service, no idea. 5) When I moved out - the door to the storage facility was stuck open so anyone could have come/gone through the front gate and into the facility. No visible security on-site while these gates were non-operable. 6) Also, assuming AC was going straight out the door. Did not feel "climate controlled" while we were moving out. Will not be using CubeSmart for any future storage needs. read more

Warning!! Warning: do not move into CubeSmart units at 5321 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX. I was a long term customer. The staff is very nice but the owner of the building must not realize or doesn't care about conditions. They have 100's of units at the Richmond Ave. Cube Smart in Houston but they only have 2 carts which can never be found. I have been stuck in the elevator 3 times. The place is not clean. It's dark. Lights are broken. The AC doesn't work half the time. There are moths everywhere. I have complained several times especially about no carts. They always say "Oh the manager will be back tomorrow, or next week, or in two days... and the manager will call you." NO one ever followed up. Broken into twice over that past two years. Thousands of dollars worth of personal belongings taken and nothing captured on cameras. There's about a foot of open space at the top of all the units where anyone can see what's in your unit. In 2020, you'd think a business like this would have a top-notch security system to protect client's investments. All they want is your money, and will keep going up on your rent. I gave this place one star.... it should have zero. My identity was recently stolen and cube smart ALLOWED an individual to use my information. Let me explain: I received an invoice from cube smart in the mail... and I have never owned/rented a storage unit. It stated that I owed X amount and needed to pay or they'd be auctioning off my items. I was confused... so I called the storage unit and spoke with a manager. I explained this couldn't have been me, I've never owned a storage unit. After further speaking with her, and trying to prove who I AM.... we found out that the woman using my information had opened a storage unit ONLINE using my information and was later moved in AFTER HOURS and NEVER REQUIRED TO SHOW PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION!! How do you allow someone to rent a storage unit without ever showing proof of who you are?! This makes no sense to me! Had their been more safety features for the customers that pay rent... my information would not have been able to be used. I believe cubesmart should implement MANDATORY proof of identification... and any other storage unit for that matter. read more

Don't store your valuables here unless you like the occasional break-in into your unit. This place only has cameras at the entrance but not in the hallways. So convenient to not have any proof of who broke into our unit. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, the team member could care less and only seemed annoyed that I was robbed. Even after coming back after office hours to take inventory, a homeless person was inside the compound dumpster diving collecting things. After spotting me at the gate, they took all their things inside to hide it somewhere. This person had codes to get in and out of the compound. This is a sketchy business and I would not give this location any of my hard earned money to be robbed and feel unsafe when I go. read more

Update from my previous review. Bill, one of the managers, contacted me after the incident with Cubesmart. He offered to make things right by giving me a discount on my next month's rent. I was moving out the next month, so instead, he offered to let me use the truck to move out of storage and into my new place. I appreciated them reaching out to me to make things right. The store did not answer the phones that day. Instead, it was an answering service who was rude and unhelpful. The storage unit is clean and they were very helpful with my entire move out process. Don't leave your stuff at this location do not I repeat do not. My unit got broken into and the crappy insurance that they sell there denied the claim. They went up and over the door where the opening is. They stole stuff that I can never replace sentimental items do not I repeat do not leave your stuff at this location they do not care, wouldn't bother to look at the video. I booked a storage unit at this location a few weeks ago. I was flabbergasted by the services that Michelle provided to me. She was very helpful of my selection process and she was very tedious in her efforts. With that said, I will would suggest others to check out the location and request for Michelle if possible. If it was possible I'd give zero stars. Everything after the sale went downhill. My unit was vandalized. Irreplaceable personal items stolen. The manager took 2 days to call back. She said she'd review the video and get back to me. Never heard another word. Went up there, she wasn't there. I called the corporate office and a district manager called me back. We use this storage to hold association files and love it. It's conveniently located, just west of downtown. The security protocols are really refreshing and make me feel safe when needing to spend some time in the storage for whatever, especially when going after work. The staff is always super nice and accomodating. It is always clean and we have never had a problem finding a cart when needed. read more

I've had the pleasure of storing at this location for many years now and finally today is moving day. I had the pleasure of taking time to sit and talk with my favorite manager Tensia today. She is always wearing a smile and delighted to talk whenever I walk through the door. This place has went through quite a few ownerships and managers, but I hope for this company's sake they hold on to this young lady. She has great customer service and helps in any way she can to make your visit super special each and every time. The place always smells and looks good every time I have ever visited. Wow, definitely the best storage experience I have ever had. Quick, easy set up that beats any other price close by. Bill, the Manager was extremely helpful and personable. Definitely willing to work with you! Clean facility, convenient security system. A huge plus is $10 truck rental under 50 miles which is extremely hard to beat. I used this self-storage service for when I moved from one apartment to another, and let me just say how nice this turned out to be! Not only was the first month of rental off, this was also a nice climate-controlled storage location that is conveniently located. A moving truck (with a ramp and whatnot) is also available for free when you rent a container here to help with moving stuff so you won't even have to rent a U-Haul truck! Best of all, the manager at this location was courteous, helpful, and extremely responsive both over the phone as well as through email. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this storage solution to anyone else. read more
