First, their response time for getting back to you with a quote is horrible. And when I finally received a quote, it was not in writing. Second, when the day came for them to move me, they showed up late with a truck that was falling apart. Parts of it were rusting, one of the rear tires on the double axle was flat and hanging on the rim, the gas tank had a piece of plastic stuffed in it to function as a gas cap, and the truck failed to start when they tried to back it up to the storage unit. When the employees called the owner, he cussed a blue streak on the phone and hung up angrily. When he called his employees back again, his attitude was less than professional. The movers themselves were talking about how the truck was unreliable as well. They informed me that the owner would be there in 20 min and I told them to call me when he got there. The next call I received was not from the owner but from the moving crew that had been talking about how unreliable the truck was. I asked them if the owner brought another moving truck or trailer, and they informed me that they had managed to start the truck and were ready to move me. I told them I wasn't comfortable with them using that truck, to which they replied, "F^&K you then." The owner failed to call me at any time to inform me of what was going on or how he planned to complete the move. As a result of their poor customer service, I have now incurred additional storage fees. As a result, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business.

I asked why and Steven said that they had little overhead and were a local family company. I did some research on yelp and google and found every review at 5 STARS!! They are definitely NOT 5 STARS! We tried to support local while saving a few bucks. Don't do it. The movers showed up in a U-Haul, not professional looking at all, just 4 guys one of whom was the owner Steven Eisenach. They took a crazy amount of breaks. Every few minutes was a smoke break. I had to ask them not to smoke in the truck while loading our furniture. Plus they threw their cigarette butts all over the yards and drive ways. In all it took over 10 hours for a 3 bedroom home to go 10 minutes away. After the move we noticed many dings and gouges in the furniture and other items. During the move I noticed a gouge in our downstairs oak door and pointed it out to a mover. I got a shoulder shrug and a "wow! thats bad." After the move we had to repair and paint many scratches in the walls at the old and new home. The worst came as we unpacked. I left my garage tools to unpack last in order to get the house up and running. When I finally got a chance to unpack the garage I noticed many tools missing. I ended up losing many hand tools and some power tools. I have a 4'x8' peg board normally loaded with tools. Now it barely has anything at all. I am finding more tools missing every day. I did reach out to the movers via email and voicemail and have had no response. My wife did some more digging on the company and found a few things. She found that Steven reviewed his own company. And with as many 5 star reviews we believe that most are friends or family. She also found 1 Google review saying pretty much what we say above. They had a couple of tv's go missing. Makes for an interesting read. https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/112013538562282514718/reviews/@42.329958,-89.0485609,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m3!8m2!3m1!1e1?hl=en-US And finally, my wife found a news article on Steven Eisenach. It claims that he was arrested for stealing over $17K in jewelry while working for another moving company. Pricing was competitive compared to other movers I found on Craigslist especially they gave me free in home estimates, on top of that they were available.. lifesaver!! My mom had so much kitchenware and fragile stuff I was stressing out because I had no time to pre-packaged them before the movers came, ended up that the movers were able to carefully wrap them in blankets, and provided bins, wooden crates, basically did all the work. The movers were super cool and polite, especially my mom that can't speak English they were still very kind. When the belongings arrived, the movers even assisted with unpacking everything as well. They were so fast and efficient, everything was brought in carefully without scratching our hardwood floors. Thank you Kerb Movers!!

Moving is always a stressful process for everyone involved, so don't ask your sibling or friend to help. Save your loved ones the trouble, and just hire Kerb to take care of all your moving needs. If you've never hired movers before, it will CHANGE your life! There is something beautiful about just pointing at things, and having people package it and move it. You just can't go back after that. I've hired a bunch of movers in the past, but none come close to the professionalism and kindness of the guys at Kerb. Kerb also does not nickel and dime you for everything. It comes with moving blankets and those plastic wraps for smaller items, free of charge. Highly recommend Kerb for anyone trying to move from Chicago to LA!

Unfortunately, my experience with this company requires a cautionary account. My move took place on Nov. 25, 2025. I expected two movers who would conduct themselves in a professional manner, demonstrate knowledge of the task at hand and treat the client with basic respect. The two movers that arrived were young men in their early 20s. Prior to hiring this company, I specifically asked the Manager whether her movers wrapped the furniture and I was assured by her that they did. However, on the day of the move, it became clear that the crew did not understand or follow standard professional moving practices. My furniture was not wrapped or protected; instead, I was told that blankets would be placed on items only after items were already on truck. They were not. The movers were very dismissive and rude. As a woman alone, I felt very uncomfortable speaking up further. This experience reflected a lack of professionalism, preparation, and respect for the customer. Their conduct made an already stressful day more difficult than it needed to be. During the move, furniture damage did occur. After weeks and repeated calls on my part, I was eventually offered monetary compensation. While the amount was nominal, I am grateful that some recompense was finally made. My purpose in writing this is not to be punitive, it is to warn potential customers and to encourage this company to improve. Particularly, in how their movers interact with clients. Skill alone is not enough; of which they had little, but that professional demeanor and respect matter. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it would go along way toward improving the overall customer experience.

1 Star Very…read moredisappointing experience. My original estimate was $6,225, and I ultimately paid $8,100 for my move. Despite paying for a full packing and white-glove moving service, multiple valuable belongings were damaged while in the company's care, including a 65-inch TV, a 55-inch TV, my mattress, a marble side table, a patio chair, and a rug. One of the most concerning examples is my mattress, which was delivered folded in half. I have included a photo showing its condition upon delivery. The white-glove service was also not completed as promised. The movers disassembled my bed but did not reassemble it upon delivery, even though reassembly was included in the service I purchased. I had to hire and pay a TaskRabbit professional to assemble it myself. I have been working with the company on my damage claim since July 20. They have received photographs and videos documenting everything. The company is relying on the $0.60-per-pound valuation provision in the contract. I understand that provision is included in the agreement, but given the number of items damaged while in their care, I find the outcome extremely disappointing. Their Claims Department initially offered $124, then increased it to $275, and their final offer is now $325. After paying $8,100 for the move and dealing with multiple damaged belongings and incomplete white-glove service, I do not consider $325 a reasonable resolution. I gave the company more than a month to resolve this directly and in good faith. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with how the claim has been handled and would not use this company again or recommend them to others.

Based on the reviews, we choose Long distance Movers. My parents lived on the 3rd floor of our family building and held years worth of items including a book and album collection as well as some antique furniture items. I worked with the sales team all the way up until the day of the move and made adjustments based on time and necessity. The move time was pushed back several times, which I remained flexible on. The driver (Mike) called me to let me know they were running late, I said no problem. I could tell in that conversation, (Mike) did not sound pleasant at all. When Mike and Alex arrived, it was confirmed, he was not interested in the job at all. The other mover (Alex) was friendlier. I began to show them the items that needed to be packed and I showed them around the property. Mike said we had more than what was listed on the quote. I advised the quote had be revised several times and we decided to not take some of the larger pieces. There was (1) item located on the first floor (that I sent pictures of) and some items in the basement. After showing both movers what needed to be done, I asked if they would rather park their truck in the alley. They agreed and said they would pull around back. THEY NEVER CAME BACK!!! I called Mike several times and did not get an answer...then the calls went to voicemail. I then attempted to call my sales person Matthew and realized the phone number listed does not allow you to enter an extension number. I then tried the representative who called me to confirm the move. I had to leave VM with both and wait for a call back. They were very surprised and apologetic but could not tell me why the drivers left with no notice. I was eventually told they could not "Accommodate" our needs! I completely understand how overwhelming that task may have appeared to someone walking into a large apartment, that wasn't the most organized or tidy, but isn't that what that $4,000+ quote was paying for. What if we had to be out of the property within days? To leave the job and make me wait for 30 minutes in the alley is completely unprofessional. Moving in general is extremely stressful, now imagine being a couple of senior citizens, one of which is a disable veteran battling cancer and being told their movers left without notice!

I'm too old to be enticing friends to carry my crap up and down stairs with beer and pizza, it was time to grow up. And Long Distance Movers is the company for that grown up move. First they have representatives that will not only quote your move but also check in and stay as your point of contact throughout the entire process. My rep was excellent in following up and responding to all of my questions and requests. He went out of his way to make my requested dates and times work, and that in itself already makes the costs come close to being worth it. But the movers themselves make it a no-brainer. They were courteous, polite, and professional. They also took a lot of time and care into helping prepare my items to go into storage and take the trip across a couple states. I thought I did well packing but they really improved on my work, rearranging and wrapping items that seemed loose or wobbly. I felt everything was super safe and taken care of when they were done. Good people throughout the company and good practices made my move super easy and convenient and the personal interactions make it completely worth the cost. Highly recommended for moving longer distances.
