Okay. I don't usually leave reviews. But this place is the worst place I ever been to. You walk in and it's beautiful and you would think you will get great service. First of all there's 3 ladies there and not 1 speaks English. And Im not hating on that but they don't even understand what I'm asking for. It's okay. I showed them a picture of what I wanted. I don't know how else I can explain this. The blow out was terrible she was putting too much heat at my scalp felt like it's catching on fire. When she's done and I check the mirror it's nothing like I asked. Come on it's a simple blowout with light curls. She gave me super super curls. Told her can you please brush. She doesn't understand. Fine. I google translated to her. "Can you brush?" She gets upset and then starts saying something in Spanish, which I don't understand. I show her the pic AGAIN. And I tell her it's NOT SAME. TOO MUCH CURL. He gets mad rough starts scarring my face trying to move hair not once like 4 times. Okay. Cool. When I go to pay. They are like it's $45. On their website it says $35. On their board it says $35. When I walked in one of the ladies said $35. But now it's $45 I asked why? It says $35 they pretending not to hear. At this point I'm too tired for this shit. Wouldn't recommend any ladies coming here. Venue is beautiful when the original owners built it, but new owners/management is terribly rude and prices have gone up ridiculously. Today I walked in to ask about cutting tips and blow dry. Owner wanted to charge me $75. I told her I used to pay $35 under the old management. She gave an attitude and agreed to charge me $55 as I was leaving. Bad experience during the cut because owner kept micromanaging the hairdresser to ensure the minimum is down to my hair. read more

I'm not sure where to even begin ! Everything seemed good until my third visit , which was on a Thursday afternoon. I go to get my hair blown out same day I call up . Accommodation was good ! Same day same service . As I go to the counter to pay she tells me 50 dollars . This was the same girl taking my payment who blew out my hair ( rosemary). The onwer happened to be sick . So I questioned " 50 dollars " the last two times I was charged 40 dollars !!!!! And rosemary took my payment the last time . So she texted the owner back and she says or she thought It was 50 so she said now pay 45 . 45 ??? Are you kidding me ! So inside I'm furious and disgusted about how this was even being handled ! Alright Yelp this review is coming from my wife's perspective. She went for a last minute blowout this evening and wanted to share her experience: Upon entry it was obvious something wasn't right.. the lady who normally washes hair wasn't there and the receptionist ended up filling in.. im all for improvising when necessary but this woman was clearly bothered by me and it reflected in her work.. (very fast wash with no detangling or any effort) The next woman who was in charge of blowing my hair had a tough time because it wasn't detangled and had to correct the receptionist's work before beginning. Although she honesty seemed to take pride in her craft, her blow dryer was not of professional caliber and my hair came out frizzy. To better put it into perspective, I had to wash and reblow my hair when I got home. This defeats the entire purpose of paying money to pamper myself and escape from a tiresome task. Had a 10am appt. Not with my usual hair stylist. They had no hot water. they had to heat up the water by filling up cups and microwaving it. The owner wasnt here and told the girls the oil guy was on his way. it's now 1143am and still nothing. I don't blame the workers, but I feel like the owner should've been there to make sure the problem was solved. I really really wanted to like this place but It's not great. The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because Ramona does a great job with the blowouts. On the other hand some of the other stylist have no idea what they're doing. I've had my hair done with about three different stylist but the experience I had today was then end. I will not be going back to that place ever again. The stylist who did my hair was beyond horrible. Before going in to the salon I specifically told the lady over text that I have curly hair. I don't have coil or thick hair. It's really thin and really manageable but curly. She assured me I could come in. The stylist started by washing my hair. She then proceeded to put conditioner on for literally two seconds and she then proceeded to rinse it off. She was ready to take me to the chair and I asked "did you detangle it?" She said she would do that at the chair. At that point I wanted to walk out but I decided to give her a try. I told her I wanted my hair detangled while wet with conditioner. I have been to many many salons and I've never had anyone detangle on the chair. They always do it while washing it. Now to the fun part she started blowing out my hair. There was no mirror so I could not see what she was doing. She told me all done and didn't even bring a mirror to show me her job. I got up and went to the mirror and noticed my roots in the front were still curly. I told her to fix it but honestly there was no fixing to what she did to my hair. She didn't even flip the ends. My hair looked horrible. I got to my car and immediately put my hair in a ponytail. I could not be caught with my hair looking that bad. What a waste of money. On April 1st, I visited this place because it was close to my home and my Regular stylist was on vacation. I booked an appointment for a blowout, with Sury, and a manicure. I booked with Sury because she had great reviews but I got Mercedes. My hair is very coarse and curly, it takes a very skilled stylist to work with my hair without burning it. A stylist should dry it on low first and apply heat towards the end when styling. Mercedes used the maximum heat, on wet hair, leaving my hair straight but extremely dry and smelling burnt. I tried to correct her but she wouldn't listen and then asked me if my regular stylist did hair as good as she did. I only paid $25 and was out in an hour an 15 minutes but I would rather sit at my regular salon for 3 hours or pay $50 at a real Drybar. It is now April 10th and I've washed my hair for the second time and it still smells burnt. Never again. read more

Okay so I went in to Blowout NY for my birthday weekend last week, Ramona did a good job on my hair HOWEVER they are also home to Skin Boutique NY which absolutely DESTROYED my eyebrows!!!!!! The technician I had was Wendy in which was to provide me with their "Beautiful brows" which includes wax, shape, and tint on the eyebrows. Initially I was pleased as the tint was heavy on my eyebrows that you could not notice that she OVER waxed my Eyebrows!!!!!! As the tint began to wear off I noticed there was a missing spot on my eyebrows see for yourself below. I am not only soo disappointed but disgusted that as a professional she tried to cover up her mistake instead of letting me know and taking responsibility for her actions. Blowout NY should be absolutely ashamed and appalled by having a worker of her mediocre caliber on their team. For such a high end place the service I received was repulsive. So where do I start, let me say that I MISS my girl GINA!! she was by far the best stylist in this place, the only good thing about this place was their package deals other than that Sharons prices are ridiculously out of control. Customer service is really bad, I asked jessy for their WiFi passcode and she literally told me it's on the window. (REALLY!!!) Their appointments scheduling was hit or miss if you requested someone online you were used to, when you got there that person would not come in. They confirm your appt like 3x but will NOT let you know that the girl you scheduled with will not be in. (Horrible). They set appointments for 9:00am and they don't even open at that time. I've had to wait like 1/2 an hr outside in the cold. I do not recommend this place. The Attitude of these workers need some adjusting and services are just ok. Especially if you have to go home and fix your hair after paying the expensive fees in this place. Sharon, your customers should be treated a lot better. Such a shame. read more

I recently went here with a few of my cousins and aunts after a long stressful day of visiting my aunt at the hospital. We all decided to pamper ourselves and I have to say this was definitely the spot to do so. They specialize in blowouts, manicures and pedicures. They also do updos! As explained to me by the manager this place is like an express beauty salon which is why they don't offer hair color or anything crazy. You make an appointment by phone or online and then go in and boom you've got your hair looking brand new! The staff was all so nice and they offered drinks (water, tea, coffee) while you waited for someone to tend to you or even while you are doing your hair. Day three and my hair is going pretty strong! I left it in a high pony tail and night and the let it out in the morning. The style is pretty much still active. Great atmosphere. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I had been coming here for 2 years, great service and beauticians. Kim and Ramona are very talented. Unfortunately, they changed management and I was unaware of this. I went to get a normal blowout. When I arrived, I was taken to the sink to wash my hair. My stylist blowdried my hair, not as a good as how I usually get It done there, but decent. She talked on the phone during my service and occasionally stopped blow drying my hair to text. I went to pay at the cashier, I was told my blowout was $55!!!!!! Extremely overpriced, especially since it was 25$ when I usually came for exceptional results. But nonetheless and handed her a gift certificate I received. The owner Cuci- was extremely unhelpful and kept telling me that was invalid due to new management. She demanded I showed proof of a bank statement. She wanted to know when,where, how why I had the gift certificate. She became increasing rude when I asked her how is this invalid since I have the receipt. My stylist became extremely combative, eye rolling, with a nasty attitude. They were unwilling to help navigate this issue. Cuci is the most unprofessional salon owner I have ever encountered. Disgraceful. Long story short, my gift certificate WAS valid. And they were needless to say quiet after they realized they were wrong. I will never go back here again, horrible service and even worse management. Everyone was pleasant, the shop is clean and very professional. I had the keratin treatment. I am a regular client at this salon and I had a horrible experience yesterday. I went it to get my bangs trimmed and a simple blowout. After miscommunication I was very unhappy with how my hair came out. I did my hair with Gina, she was great, I used a groupon for bayalage, olaplex, and blow dry. Very reasonable prices, I will be coming back!

I spent over $500 here in April for extensions. I loved them and they lasted a good 3 months. I went back to have them reinstalled and paid $150 cash to Gessy. 24 hours later I brushed my hair and all but two fell out (while I was on a vacation that she knew I was going on). So I texted her and she told me to come back the following Weekend and she would re do them at no charge. So, I text her that weekend to set it up and she tells me she had a family emergency and that she could do it one week later. I work in aesthetics, therefore, it was impossible for me to wait any longer. I go to the salon, and they tell me she's actually on vacation and the reason my extensions fell out is because the salon owner ordered a different adhesive tape! The very nice stylist who helped me told me that she could put my extensions back in but if the tape is faulty, they are going to fall out again, which they did less than a month later. After giving this salon so much money, it's crazy to me how no one here was able to accept any accountability for the situation. I've tried calling numerous times but they don't answer the phone and the past 3 times I've been there, the owner hasn't been around. Terrible customer service!! read more

2nd visit at blowout NY today and I'm very happy with today's visit! My first visit I wasn't to impressed but Edwin changed my mind after today. First visit was a girl no longer there..she forgot or missed pieces of my hair while curling. Edwin is great! I would not recommend for color, I am still trying to get the orange out of my hair. The blowout was great. I was there 4 hours and did not get offered anything, no water, no coffee, no magazine. I would not return and I am very disappointed in their customer service as the colorist knew it was orange and said she would ask her boss what should be done and I had to contact the owner who didn't seem to care that my hair ended up orange. When the toner was in my hair I told the colorist it was going orange and she said oh it's fine. I sat for another 10 minutes with that toner and I was correct - it was orange! Would not recommend to purchase the Groupon for balayage for blondes, maybe it's better for dark hair. read more
