I was really hoping to find a salon closer to home that I could become a regular at, but unfortunately this was another disappointment. I came in for a wash and set and even brought my own products, along with two clip-in extensions that simply needed to be rinsed and dried. I specifically told the stylist that I didn't want excessive heat on my hair. She assured me that the process would be quick and that she would use products to protect my hair. The clip-ins had already been washed beforehand. All I needed was for them to be rinsed and allowed to dry under the dryer. Since I noticed the service was moving slowly, I decided to take the clip-ins home and straighten them myself rather than continue waiting. No rollers, blow-dry, or flat ironing were done on the clip-ins by the salon. When it came time to pay, I was shocked to be charged $90. I was told the additional cost was because of my extra hair, despite the fact that very little was actually done to the clip-ins. I simply cannot justify that pricing based on the service provided. To make matters worse, I left with my hair smelling burnt, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid when I expressed my concerns about heat. Had I not been pressed for time and needing my hair done for an event, I would have just made the trip to my regular salon. I booked an appt with the salon two weeks ago & did not come in because of the rain. While trying to reschedule, they were very accommodating. The whole experience was great. I have 4C hair & they managed to lay it down so well. The trim looks really nice. They are a nice woman owned salon & they are very accommodating in every way. If I could rate this place more then 5 I would. I am a New New York Resident & it all started with my initial call into the Salon one day where I was beyond pleased with the outstanding customer service received over the phone. The person taking the calls & scheduling was very pleasant that although I was calling several places I immediately scheduled because of the sense & vibe her delivery & attentive attitude gave off. I know you guys know New York has alot of rude, attitude having people who sound like they can't stand their jobs & that voice inflection that she had was felt over the phone and I'm sure those places lose business just based on that alone. But this place was outstanding even before paying the salon a visit and have to shout out Gloria she did an amazing job!! I definitely didn't feel like your average odd ball being new and or like a stranger her work is her talent but her personable and easy going personality made all of the awkward assumptions I had anticipated having being a new customer was not even a thought. That welcoming aura & great energy is not only received by the receptionist but by all, the entire staff definitely shared the same qualities this is a friendly and family like atmosphere and my experience was such a great one I had to recognize them. I was very pleased with the service I received from Gloria. For 1, she gave me a courtesy call. She is very pleasant & was gentle with my hair. She did exactly what I came in for ( trimming ) and answered any questions I had concerning my hair. From past experiences with other salons, they'll do other services you didn't ask for, tell you it's good for your hair then give you an outrageous bill. Gloria was considerate to ask me first if I wanted anything extra done and I was able to politely decline. I'm happy to say I found my new natural hair stylist ! read more

Customer service needs some improvements. The ladies act like they don't want to work. Won't even get up to answer your hair questions. I was literally told negative comments about my ends which I went there for a cut. They charge a bit too much for what you're getting. Been there twice. Not going back. read more

I went here a few weeks ago for a blowout on my natural hair. I have very thick type 4 hair, and as we know, many Dominican salons aren't particularly natural hair friendly, especially for kinkier textures. I found this salon on StyleSeat and went to Gloria, who not only does great blow outs on natural hair, she also styles locs. Everyone who went in there hair looked great once they left, and Gloria gave me the BEST blowout I've ever had, even better than when I had relaxed hair. I got a wash, blow dry, trim and flat iron and it was only $40! Definitely a steal, especially since many natural hair salons will charge you at least $20 more to not do as good of a job. I definitely will be going back to her! She also gave me a good TRIM, and didn't cut off too much hair. I can't say how well the other stylists are with natural hair, as a lot of the other people there were relaxed or had looser curls, but if you're a natural girl I highly recommend Gloria. I did go on a Saturday, so it was crowded, but I was in and out in about 3 hours. Not too bad for a Saturday, where sometimes I've been in the salon for over 5 hours! Tips: I did bring my own products and heat protectant, which I recommend if you are going to any Dominican salon, because their products can be a bit questionable, and plus you don't have to worry about someone sneaking relaxer in your conditioner. read more

This hair salon is great because of the stylist not the customer service or the receptionist in the front. I called this salon to see if they did layers for a reasonable price and the receptionist said it was 15 bucks. I thought, what a steal! So I arrived at the salon and was not greeted by the receptionist because she was too busy eating. She didn't even bother to look up or ask if I needed help. A stylist asked me what I wanted and I told her and was helped 15 min later. The receptionist just was like, oh you need services? Like, no, I came here to watch you eat. Anyways, got my layers done the way I wanted and I was in and out in 30min. But then the receptionist that told me it was 15 now is telling me it's 20 bucks. I paid anyways because the stylist earned that money. The salon really needs to find someone more professional and courteous to be the face of their salon. read more

My hair hasn't had any heat to it for over 3 years, I was so nervous to get it done. This salon was recommended to me by my sister in law and I was told to see Gloria. She did NOT disappoint! She told me what my hair needed and cared for it accordingly. I got a silk press and she really took her time and cared about how I felt. I drove from Boston and it was definitely worth it. I had made an appointment for Sunday morning but didn't expect the salon to be busy. I went in for a touch up texturizer. When I got in I was told to sit and I waited for 40 mins before Zolia was able to attend to me. She was very gentle ( which is a plus) but very slow. Process was fast after she applied my texturizer, just wished I brought my own shampoo and conditioner. Wasn't sure about the salon one used in my hair. Zolia styled and cut my hair- very pleased but I spent 5 hours in a salon on a Sunday. read more
