It was super busy at 1PM on a Tuesday afternoon, been traveling all morning, were hungry and it was our ANNIVERSARY . We have lived in Mesquite for an almost 8 years and have never been here. It was a pleasant surprise and we're happy we stopped in. Had spaghetti and a softball sized meatball and I had spaghetti and spicy sausage. Both were very good but we traded the meat. New to this town and had never eaten here before. Two of us ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, one had shrimp fettuccine Alfredo and our fourth had lasagna. Every dish was deemed great! Our server was excellent, and the ambience is very nice here. Pretty upscale place when you get inside. We were here around 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. The first time I ate there, the service was good but the food was sub par for Italian cuisine. The second time the food was on point, the service was spot on and arrived within a reasonable amount of time. A lot of the prep in Italian food is important to put out a good meal. Good place for dinner and drinks. We stopped in for dinner while traveling through this city. We decided to check it out because of the amount of cars in their parking lot as compared to other places we drove by. We were pleased to see many diners. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered an appetizer of Seared Scallops and small Cesar salad. My husband had the Little Italy dinner. Everything was really good. The sauce and garlic bread on the scallops was so delicious. The salads were cold and the other plates were hot. That was a pleasant surprise since we've eaten other places that haven't gotten the food to us right away. I had a very good martini as well. Had lunch their around 3 pm it was some nasty plate yuck. I ordered the steak and chicken parm. The steak was burned black and over cooked (ordered med rair) but cold not hot not warm but cold how in gods name does that happen? The chicken parm was the same cold. And the place had an oder like a backed up sewer pipe. All in all total bad experience. The gal that was our server was very nice and on top of her game to bad the chef wasn't on his game. If you're looking for a solid Italian spot, you should try this place. Came in for lunch, got the salmon florentine and it was amazing! And $7 glasses of house wine, hard to beat. Service was great, super nice girl, greeted me, got me a water, refilled my water, got me bread, beans/oil and everything came up quick and fresh. The ambiance is super chill. This Italian restaurant might be the worst Italian restaurant I've ever eaten in my life. I ordered the Italian sandwich and it came like a club sandwich with turkey on it huge bread which I couldn't even distinguish the meat within it. I ordered the meatballs, spaghetti, and the other time and the meatball was huge but greasy and the spaghetti was floating and grease. I don't know why anybody goes there. This is our favorite Italian restaurant and we drive abt 100 miles for it. Karla is the perfect hostess and wait staff, along with Yesenia. While some of the restaurants in Mesquite are only open for dinner, Cucina Italiana serves lunch and the price and taste are the best. The interior is decorated so that you feel like you are in Italy without the long plane ride. We first discovered Cucina Italiana on a trip to visit the nearby donkey museum, which is very interesting too. read more

i went into this restaurant a few days ago, i'd say it was Tuesday. and my hopes were high walking in, but as we walk in i'm treated poorly by the host. she was on her phone when i walked in and practically ignored me greeting. i than told her i wanted a table for 4 and she sat me and said not a word. later in the night i had went to the restroom and i noticed i used the last of the toilet paper. i walked out and told the host there was no more toilet paper and she said "okay" i go back about 25 minutes later and there is still no toilet paper. awful service. if you guys are going to hire people atleast make sure they can speak to customers properly!!!! read more

This local restaurant is a favorite for large groups. My friend and I had lunch there and I was taken back by a few things. We ordered the steak salad. It's a New York strip and it was served, not sliced but whole, on top of our salads. There wasn't a plate underneath the salad so, it was awkward trying to cut it. Because it was so busy and there wasn't only one very sweet waitress, I got up and went to the kitchen to ask for plates. Needless to say, presentation is not a strong suit. My swordfish dish had a great sauce but was overcooked and a bit dry. I did not finish it. A companion's meatball dish was one giant meatball in a heaping pile of pasta with sauce. Tried this just from looking up restaurants in the area. We were in the area passing through, this was on my moms bday. The smell as others have noted is off putting, but once we were inside it was fine. The side salad with ranch was amazing. Unfortunately it was gone before I thought of getting a pic. I would return just for the salad, I could eat the ranch out of a bowl with a spoon. I got the spaghetti with spicy sausage. I took a picture but it didn't turn out for some reason. It was super good though. The only mishap was in the kitchen one of our plates was dropped, of course it was the birthday girls. So the rest of us were about finished eating by the time her food came. Service started to lack because just after we placed our order it got busy and our server had a table with about 15 people. I didn't take away a star because I could tell she was trying to do her best and they were very polite. Another waitress came and checked on us and got us some more bread and then the meal just a few minutes later, which they comped for the inconvenience, very nice!! We haven't been to this restaurant for several years but remembered it. While in route to Bryce we stayed over in Mesquite knowing we wanted to return. Glad they were so easy to find on Yelp. We arrived around 4:30ish pm and only two other tables were full. Unfortunately as we entered there was a very strange odor almost like some sort of gas smell. However over time I couldn't smell it anymore or my nose adjusted to it. Anyways, our server was Candy who had just returned to working there after a 2.5 month hiatus. She was great!! Very attentive, accommodating and engagingly friendly. We ordered the Italy to share per her recommendations and it worked well. Soooo much food to share and she had the kitchen split the plate for no additional charge. The plate consisted of Fettuccine Alfredo, Lasagna, and Spinach Ravioli. Came with a small house salad, or soup and we opted for the salad. It didn't have a whole of veggies just tomato and fresh Parmesan but a whole lot of greens-spinach, arugula and mixed greens which made up for the lack of other veggies. We wanted to try their homemade vinegarette but I wasn't to fond of it. On the other hand, my husband loved it so much he used mine too. It was very thick and super sweet since it had honey or something close to it as a base. It was almost spreadable so again my husband put it on his bread and salad. Lol The bread was good, nothing to different. Almost looked like dinner rolls and it was accompanied with a very small dish of a white bean in seasoned oil for dipping. It was different and very good. I ordered their $7 glass of Chardonnay and enjoyed it very much. My husband ordered a $10 glass of Chianti which he enjoyed. Lastly we finished our dinner off with Tiramisu. It was delicious and a nice size!! The restaurant looked clean with a somewhat large bar in the back of it. We would definitely return for dinner and just might since we are staying in Mesquite for a couple more days. read more

We went here the other night with neighbors and had a great time and great meal. Service was excellent. Not sure if it's new management or what but all were very impressed. One of them told the server that we've been waiting patiently. The waiter looked up and walked away as to imply that she did not want to service us. So we left. We were visiting Mesquite for a family gathering and heard great things about this beautiful town and restaurant Unfortunately our experience with this restaurant's customer service was very disappointing and embarrassed as I referred this place to our party. Being ignored and never greeted is by far the worst thing you can do to a customer as a business owner myself the manager on duty definitely needs to be pulled a side and spoken to. Food was delicious! We started with the hot crab/artichoke/spinach dip. Although not what we expected, it was quite tasty. However, by the time our food came, we were already full from the appetizer. We tasted our entree choices (Chicken Marsala & Pasta Aioli) and again were very pleased with our selections. We weren't disappointed when the check can either! Food aervice was slow-ish, but the servers were very friendly. We were in Mesquite for a tournament and decided we wanted Italian food. We found this spot and they took us in about 30 minutes prior to closing. They had a couple of large parties from other tournaments dining. We were worried our food would take long but no, it did not. Our waitress was amazing. She got all our food and drinks out quickly. The food was all fresh and tasty. We even loved the bread with the white bean dip. We were pleasantly surprised and again, the service was really above and beyond. The food was reasonably price too!
