We went here for our 28th anniversary. We are from Las Vegas, but with most of the buffets closing down it is hard to find a buffet with hot and cold crab legs. The buffet isn't huge, but the food was good and there are lots of choices. Not bad for the price we paid. The desert bar has the MOST delicious bread pudding that I have had in a long time. Our waitress Michele was EXCELLENT she kept our empty plates cleared and was coming by all the time to check on us. While we were in line waiting to get it, we met 2 other couples from N. Disappointing Visit to Sierra Buffet We arrived at 10 AM expecting to enjoy breakfast, only to find out they had just switched over to lunch. A little disappointed, we decided to give it a try since the lunch items had just been put out fresh. Unfortunately, the hot food was a letdown. Most of the dishes were under-seasoned and surprisingly not very hot, even though they had just been brought out. The mac and cheese was watery, the fried fish was lukewarm, and the country gravy was basically flavorless. Thankfully, the salad bar and fresh fruit did not disappoint and were definitely the highlights of the meal. Comped breakfast during a 1-night stay at Virgin River on our way to Sturgis motorcycle rally. That place is really old school not to say outdated. Dinined here while staying at Virgin River Hotel. An old school buffet vibe with great prices. It was a normal country breakfast day so no crablegs etc. The food was ok. I enjoyed the omlette the best. The worker who made my omlette just needs to smile a little. I also asked him for a thin and small slice of the prime rib but he cut me a thick huge piece. It was very dry. The Buscuits and gravy tasted yummy. I also enjoyed the brown gravy. Very tasty. I'd return again. read more

The Location is easy enough to get to. Parking is pretty easy. But that's about all that's truly more than a two star. Unfortunately, if you've ever had TV dinners, then you've had this buffet. From the desserts to the main course, it's sadly lacking. Honestly, I don't know what you could do to improve this without completely revamping the menu. Seems to be overpriced for what you get. The service is good, in a short period of time you do get a drink or two. But when it comes to the overall atmosphere, you are surrounded by a casino. Was hoping for a reason to like Mesquite but this just bummed us out. Just come to Vegas if you haven't been to a nice buffet in a while, it's worth the extra drive. We really enjoyed this buffet! It isn't your fancy Caesars Palace or wicked Spoon buffet that you would get on the Las Vegas strip, but it is a nice decent buffet for the price. Kids are 50% off and kids 2 and under are free. For an adult price, it was $16 for the Sunday brunch, which goes from 10 AM to 2 PM. So, the price felt fair for what they served. We had to wait in the line when we arrived at 11 AM for the buffet, but it was only about 10 minutes. we noticed that the line got even longer and the restaurant was pretty full so there was people waiting for seating after 12 PM. Just beat the line. It was very clean, and the service were very friendly and clear the table quickly, and got you drinks fast. The bathroom was right across from the buffet, and it was also very clean. It was quite smoky to walk through to get to the buffet from the entrance, but the actual restaurant itself didn't smell bad. Parking wise it was easy to park, but there were a lot of cars so we had to walk. Food wise, they had a salad bar, fresh made stirfry noodles, omelette bar, soft serve ice cream, variety of desserts and fruit, breakfast foods, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fish, biscuits, pizza, corn chowder soup--which was good! It has been a couple years since the last time I ate here , but came by on Wednesday after hiking Valley of Fire. The last time I came here they had Bbq and Fried Chicken , so I was hoping for the same. It was Home Style Cooking Night and it was like $16.00 , but I used my points and a $5 Food Voucher I had. I was sat down immediately and the restaurant was about half full. They took my drink order before I even sat down. I went up to the buffet and it was less choices than the last time I came. The only bbq they had was strips of tri tip in bbq sauce and I got 2 small pieces to try and I didn't care for them. They did have the Fried Chicken , so I got a big breast and it was so good and juicy and the breading was perfect. Mashed Potatoes with Turkey Gravy was spot on , they also had brown gravy. I was surprised there was no corn on the cob like last time. Chicken Cordon Bleu which I love was just okay , and a big Swedish Meatball that was just okay also. For desert I got the Hot Cherry Cobbler which was very good , a small taster of Fruit Cobbler which was like Pineapple and Apple maybe I didn't really like it I would have rathe had Peach Cobbler , and a small taster of Bread Pudding which was okay. They had Cookies , Pies , Cakes , and a Ice Cream machine also. They were good about coming by and giving me a refill of my Arnold Palmer also. They have a Steak Night , Seafood Night , and a Prime Rib and Crab Leg Night also. On the Carving Station they only had Turkey on my night. I would recommend coming here since the price is right and the food is decent. I wish they would have had the bbq like last time. The Pork Ribs were really good. Great price for AYCE lunch. Price is unbeatable in comparison to Vegas. The lady at the front was so hospitable, so that was a great start to our meal. We got seated pretty quickly by another young lady and then handed over to an amazing waitress. Even though all she had to do was get our drinks and take away our dirty dishes...she was on top of it and kept checking in on us. Service to me is everything in my ratings. Pretty good options, but it was kinda confusing where to get certain toppings I was looking for. I never did find the sour cream. They were in the process of changing over from breakfast to lunch. I was sad, because I know I saw waffles, but when I came back the second time they had taken it away. I was sooo looking forward to eating that with some strawberry compote and whip cream! At the current price of $16.99 per adult, this buffet is truly unbeatable. My husband and I decided to have dinner here on Monday night, which is country cooking night. We received a warm and friendly greeting at the entrance and were promptly escorted to our seats. Throughout the evening, we were attended to by a very pleasant and attentive server who promptly served our drinks, checked on us regularly, refilled our glasses, cleared our plates, and made sure we had everything we needed. The service here was way better than most service I receive at restaurants in Vegas. I particularly enjoyed the fresh pasta station where they cooked your choice of pasta with the sauce and toppings of your preference - simply delicious! The meatballs, stuffed bell peppers, and the frozen yogurt station were also delightful. It would have been even better if they offered more toppings for the frozen yogurt like crumbled Oreos or sprinkles, but they did have a variety of sauces, as well as a tempting selection of cobblers, cakes, cookies, and some sugar-free desserts. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at this buffet. The quality of the food, along with the attentive service, made it great value for what we got. I love Virgin River's Sierra Buffet. The salad bar is fantastic and the food is more like what you might cook at home. I've only had a couple of time I wasn't thrilled with the buffet but for the most part it's pretty good especially for the price. Friday is steak night and Saturday is Seafood night with snow crab legs. I like to stay at the hotel, it's older and not fancy at all but it's clean and the rooms are pretty cheap. read more

The food wasn't amazing, but I did enjoy the chicken cordon bleu as did my fiancé. Our boys were definitely disappointed in the pizza. I felt so guilty, but the kids were fed and that's what we cared about, so the basics were done. Also, they loved that they were able to fill a soup bowl with ice cream The service though...practically nonexistent. Our server walked by constantly, but didn't take any of our plates or refill our drinks. It got to a point where I couldn't see our youngest across from me because of the plates stacking up. I had to flag down the server after she walked passed us FIVE TIMES! It was infuriating and as I started walking towards the drink station, the server FINALLY decided to come and refill our drinks (this was after about half an hour at the least) and then came back for our plates. Everyone else was getting their drinks and plates taken in a timely manner, but not us. They were NOT BUSY and the fact that she walked by and didn't acknowledge us until I was about to serve myself is what upset me. I can understand if you're busy, I can be patient. But, having me waving you down, being ignored, and not acknowledged until I go somewhere I'm not supposed to go to do your job is absolutely ridiculous. read more

This place deserves less than 0 stars! Absolutely deplorable service bordering on elder abuse! My mom (79 years old, uses a walker), my aunt (77 years old with health conditions, knock on wood) and their friend (60-something) went to this buffet. They arrived around 1:15 p.m. and asked if they were still serving. They were told yes. Nothing more. They started talking and didn't get food for a while. By the time they got to the buffet only the salad portion was remaining. The buffet was already being cleared off. When they arrived, they were not told it was closing down at 2:00 p.m. and/or they only had 1 hour to eat. They brought it to the manager's, possibly Greg, attention, and asked for a partial refund. They were adamantly denied and then they were told they had to leave and then "Guido" the 300 lb bouncer was ordered to escort them out! Are you kidding me? It is despicable to treat elderly people like this! I called several times to have this situation rectified and the manager, Greg, refused to talk to me, but had the cashier relay a message that they will do nothing to make this right. Truly disgusting behavior, service and people! I truly hope people will not support a business that treats elderly people with such cruelty! read more

Passed by here on the way to Vegas from Utah. Hubby always like varieties (buffets) so decided to come here. He says it was good per what he saw online. Well, i thought otherwise. Overall in a nutshell, it reminds me of cafeteria food or a local cafe. Nothing special, nothing great. We came on a Sunday which was Brunch day. So there were scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, country fried steak and biscuits. The rest includes fried chicken, pizza, mash potatoes and other main basic items. They did however have a omelette station and Mongolian stir fry which was nice. So this alone makes up the price you pay for. They have a descent salad bar and fruit variety. I will add that everything was saltier than preferred. So for the ones that love adding lots of salt, this is for you. Although i find it quite interesting to see some still sprinkling loads of salt to their plates. Yikes. Service i will say was awesome. Our server (a hispanic lady who i forgot her name) was super sweet, attentive and overall awesome! TLTR: If you like basic items dishes, this place is for you for a quick variety fix for a descent cost. Don't expect anything fancy. Taste is mediocre and again, basic. Edible, some tasty pieces but even rare it was a bit dry. But good enough to go for seconds. Salad bar was extremely fresh. They get your plate and serve you but you pick what and how much you want. On Friday (1/2/26) I was at this very resturant for their advertised All You Can Eat Seafood Crab Legs Buffet. When my family and I arrived it was 6pm. The line into the resturant was already snaking through the casino where active people were playing on slots machines. I can honestly write here that the line was at least a football field long. There were many children and many seniors standing in line waiting patiently. There was absolutely no over site from the hotel/casino management to control the very long line that was slowly snaking through to get inside. People actually waited in line for 3 hours or more to get into the Resturant. My family and I was in line for 3 hours and there was many more behind us. This Resturant closed the doors on our line at approximately 9:15pm and I would say that there was at least another 50-60 people who was still waiting in line to get in. There was no warning, no over site of the crowd no real explanation of why or what. People were questioning the staff of the Resturant and security for the hotel was called and upon their intervention the security (one of the men especially) really escalated this into a very possible riot. He threaten women who was questioning the sudden closure of the doors and the fact that people were in line for 3 hrs plus. Police was called but yet no management for the Resturant or the hotel/casino was ever present to face the people. No way were we offered an apology or explanation or how we could resolve this horrible situation. Let me say this was a very cruel and dangerous situation where you had mothers with children and seniors hungry that would have reacted to take care of their family. But they were treated in the worst way possible by an establishment that showed no regard for people, safety and compassion . This Resturant and hotel/casino showed very blatantly that they don't care about humanity and the people that support their business. This will be the last time I will ever visit this area a Nevada even if I have to drive to Utah. I will never stop here again and I will tell everyone I can about this place and the cruel unsafe money crabbing hotel/casino that don't appreciate their customers. The people of Mesquite you don't have a hidden gem here you have the worst hospitality money hungry grabbing hell hole. May this hotel/casino Resturant fail in there endeavors to promote anything good. This place rates a minus 0 many times over. read more

Decent buffet for small town Mesquite. I just wish they could be a little more efficient because the line tends to get long since they always only have 1 cashier. If I'm coming here, I prefer Saturday or Sunday dinner because they have prime rib! We've been to the buffet several times and the Salad bar continues to be very nice. It has a lot of choices like the fresh fruit, strawberries,lettuce, beets etc. it's extensive. Good choices of ingredients to make your own salad. The burgers were very good too but that's where it ends. The stir fry was so greasy it tasted rancid, the lasagne tastes like rubber, the desserts were old. The brownie had a hard crust on it, the cherry cobbler had a weird taste. The everything was so fresh, I was joking with my husband that they must of have just picked everything from a farm they had hidden in the back somewhere on the property. The hot foods included things like tri-tip, sauteed fish, fried chicken, backed chicken, German sausage with sauerkraut, pork loin, a made to order pasta station, a carving station, assorted hot veggies like broccoli, green beans, mashed potatoes and more. There was no shortage of desserts, either. Pies, cakes, cookies, ice cream or if you preferred jell-o, puddings, and fruit. Everything tasted great and actually had FLAVOR. Usually, I feel at the lower priced buffets the food can taste bland and flavorless, like something you'd imagine some poor soul eating at a convalescent home, but this food all tasted great. The worst management I've experienced in my entire Life!! Myself and my entire family of 9 did in line for 3 hours and when we were by the entrance to enter the restaurant a woman wearing a badge that said she was the cage assistant manager came out and said she will not be taking any more people sure to they will be closing in 25 minutes. We all stood there in disbelief then we became angry. We then demanded to speak to a manager and to our surprise there weren't any manager available or even physically there. Then they called security which three security guards came. The higher one in charge a talk slim tall white male name Jerry or Jim I think became irate and started threaten the younger white boys saying they needed to get out or else?! Like he was going to physically do something to them. They refused to leave and at one point looks like he was going to physically remove him when the young boy said you can't touch me. By that point other customers demanded to talk to a manager due to all this chaos. The security guard go into other altercation with other females and was pretty much power tripping and controlling all of us because he couldn't handle done very angry people who stood in line for 3 hours just to nanchalaunch tell us sorry we are closing and we can't serve you without a warning after the cashier had said I will take only the people that are in the for way. Police came and they understood our frustration. But still that security card was still power tripping and trying to get some of us arrested. Which he should be the one to have gotten arrested. Anyway back to that restaurant I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, no proper management, inconsiderate no compassion. I even heard there food was shitty!!!! read more

First time here, it reminded me of Hometown Buffet for Ny Steak and shrimp night. Pretty good fried chicken, steak is like at any other casino steak & eggs deal. We also ate here for brunch the next day, great food, nice atmosphere, clean and staff was great! We love the service at this buffet. They make every effort to bus you quickly, refill your drinks and bring you anything you need. The foods are average buffet foods. They have really good sugar free pie options. They also do a decent prime rib when it's not over cooked! We drive from Vegas for the seafood nights. read more

Don't expect a Vegas caliber buffet at Sierra's Buffet but it definitely gets the job done. I have been here numerous times during my visits , usually for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is $7.99. And has everything you would expect at a breakfast buffet. The food is decent and they have a chef making the omelettes, specialty eggs, meat carving and waffles. They also have a salad/fruit island and a dedicated dessert station. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. This place is a nice size with plenty of seating and keno monitors setup throughout the dining area. The dinner buffet is still under $20 and has a different selection depending on the day of the week. read more
