Had the pleasure of taking a cooking class with Cucina Migrante. It was a charming location inside their bungalow style home. The class had an intimate atmosphere with 14 people and we really enjoyed cooking and meeting new friends. We made potato gnocchi from scratch with a tomato sauce. We also had the opportunity to make a stuffed sirloin dish popular in Italy. The chefs were so warm and welcoming it was a night full of laughter and lessons. Definitely recommend Cucina Migrante for a fun night out!

Five stars aren't enough to describe the incredible experience we had at Cucina Migrante! What started as a cooking class quickly turned into an unforgettable evening of food, laughter, wine, singing, dancing... and more wine! Chef Simone was absolutely spectacular, keeping us entertained and engaged the entire night and Francesco was equally amazing making it an unforgettable evening. The way they brought together a group of strangers and turned us into friends over a shared love of food was pure magic!! I highly recommend everyone book this experience immediately. Thank you isn't enough... BRAVO!

WE HARVEST. WE FERMENT. WE SLAUGHTER. WE MARINATE. WE LIQUIFY. WE SPHERIFY. WE GEL. Francesco and Adisa of Cucina Migrante are two of Sicily's most famous chefs, the kind whose food is their art. Tonight we headed out to their exclusive multi-course Italian wine dinner in a crumbling, abandoned factory on the wrong side of the tracks. Sh*t just got real when the GPS announced we had reached our final destination. We sipped on a cocktail outdoors with 20 dinner guests of demanding personalities and palates. For some, it was a second date. Others, a second husband. It was a professional escort's second gig of the day. A lone crow perched on the roof, as we wondered if the graffiti was street art, gang boundaries, or a warning sign from the underworld. After many years of satisfying the most discerning diners-- constantly experimenting with new techniques, textures, and flavors-- Francesco and Adisa came to the same conclusion-- something was missing. On this pitch-black night they were going to try something we would never forget. When we settled in for the first course, Adisa announced that despite the dedication of the chefs to create the meal... we were not here for the food; "We are here to stretch the boundaries of fine dining." Suddenly, the rusty warehouse doors slam shut. It was the moment I realized the boarded up windows were to keep us in, rather than out. Trapped with 20 strangers, we had little choice but to embrace this claustrophobic surprise. With the rest of the world blocked out, it was no longer just about the 152-day-aged steak perfected by fire; it was about the subtle nuances of everything else... vibrant, intoxicating, and magical moments within these hollow walls. Laughter filled the long-forgotten industrial space as we discovered unexpected connections and hidden depths within each other. We reveled in inspiring stories, indulged in shared vulnerabilities, marveled at vibrant expressions... while we ate, drank, and savored the meal of next-level-badassery. Hours after the final course was served, the warehouse doors flung open and 20 formerly shallow, self-serving, and disconnected strangers cleared out...connected to each other and reconnected to the world of flesh, steel, and authentic human experience. Pro tip: Despite the risk of the whole thing going up in flames, investing time with others instead of with digital content was life-affirming. We can't wait till the next one-- heard it was on a private island somewhere?

Taking turns adding broth to the risotto

Chef Simone hosted such a delightful vegan culinary experience. We had an amazing time cooking in such a lovely communal atmosphere. Food really is what connects people and it was so fun going from a group of strangers from all over the globe to feeling like a bunch of friends sharing a meal together. Definitely an unforgettable night

My girlfriends planned the best day ever for a belated birthday celebration. 11 of us met at the Farmers Market in Hillcrest and went shopping for ingredients based on our likes and dietary needs. He quickly learned we had a couple of vegetarians and I was gluten free. So after much discussion, we landed on leek and mushroom risotto and eggplant caponata. He showed us the best stall for each ingredient and where to buy the freshest. We then went back to his home kitchen and enjoyed some wine (BYOB) and appetizers including the best sun dried tomatoes I have ever had! Then we chopped while he set the veggie broth bubbling. Somehow, after much laughing and chatting, we had the most amazing risotto I have ever had and fresh caponata. What a feast! Simple and fresh. Just the way I like it! I highly recommend this experience. What a delight! Can't wait to do it again!

The chefs created such an amazing menu! We started off with some champagne out in the cutest patio and munched on some charcuterie and roasted cherry tomatoes over burrata. There were some unwanted flies around, but that's how it is with the warm weather back in October! The table was set so perfectly with gold silverware. The house is very charming and welcoming. Our first course was the mystical shrimp- this was black tiger shrimp marinated in curry and flambeed with bourbon and served over eggplant. It was paired with Cusamano Insolia Sicilia. The second course was fresh sundried tomato tagliolini with their signature pesto pistachio sauce. It was amazing! I want the recipe for this LOL. The wine pairing was the J.Mourat O.Vn\.N.I. Grolleau Gris Rose Loire 2021. I was starting to get full, but we still had the third course coming. This consisted of mahi mahi grilled with Croatian salt over vegetable puree. The wine pairing was the Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais 2021. Such a delicious dish and the fish was not dry at all. Lastly, was the cannolo filled ricotta, sugar, and grand marnier. It was such a nice treat at the end of our meal. The pairing was Amaro del Capo. I was so stuffed and my belly was happy. All of the dishes were the perfect size. You'll need to check Cucina Migrante out if you want to experience something unique and different. The staff, food, and atmosphere was perfect. I had a really great time here!

Francesco and his team organized a truly unforgettable dinner for 30 guests in celebration of a special occasion. From the beautifully presented appetizers to the exquisite four-course meal, every detail was thoughtfully executed and absolutely delicious. Francesco's passion for food and hospitality shone through in every bite. Our guests are still raving about the evening -- it was elegant, warm, and flawlessly run. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Came here for a private dinner event and left absolutely speechless. This is not just a dinner. This is an experience. The food was absolutely amazing with everything tasting fresh. I'm originally from Los Angeles so I have to find a way to get this team out here one day.

i had the honor of being the photographer for Francesco & Adisa's Airbnb Farm-to-Fork experience. i loved how they've incorporated the farmers market into their experience and used it as a way to educate guests on the importance of locally-sourced produce while supporting local vendors. it came full circle when guests were instructed on how to prepare their "family meal" using the produce they've picked up from San Diego's popular Hillcrest Farmers Market & taught guests how to use each part of the vegetables for different parts of the dish! the excitement extended into the kitchen when everyone offered a helping hand to cook the meal -while understanding different cooking techniques for a specific taste/consistency. it was not only educational, inclusive, and fun but they've effortlessly created an environment for everyone to feel at Home. their presence, the love they poured into the food, and their appreciation for community was truly felt, and it became MORE than any other ordinary cooking class. i'm so excited to try more recipes from their newly published cookbook and to book a private event for my family and i to experience together.

My favorite part of the museum is a 7.5 minute "film" by a small Airstream RV. It shows the silhouette of two kids in a tent and the adventure covers all the animals they might run into out in the desert. Other things I found interesting were: The fossilized leg and hip bones of an Ankylosaurus that was found locally in Carlsbad. Different preserved animal specimens like a full anaconda skin, a whale vertabrae, a spotted skunk, and a thorny oyster. It took about 5-6 mins on the website from my phone. In the meantime, while waiting on approval for my residential permit. I had to pay $16 for parking for 2 hrs and 10mins. The show was awesome. The seats were comfortable and we were seated right in the middle of the theatre. The sound, temperature, lighting, and ambiance great here. Food orders must be made on a mobile app prior to going into the theatre for the show, then they are able to pick up their orders at intermission. Overall, the show was wonderful and we were able to meet the cast afterwards as they had to come out for their dinner. We tried not to hold them up, so we just sort of made sure that we let them get going after about 5-7mins. We were able to take photos. I took a star off because of the long stairwell and slow elevator to get to the downstairs restroom. Also, the food situation is a bit disappointing. Luckily, we made reservations at The Prado restaurant after the show.

Instead, it's a lively tribute to San Diego Comic‑Con itself--its history, its fandoms, and the creative worlds it celebrates. The bottom floor had three exhibits during my visit. The San Diego Comic‑Con history exhibit was surprisingly charming, with official programs, sketches, and memorabilia from each convention over the years. There was also a Luann exhibit (not a strip I'm familiar with, but fans will appreciate it), and a cosplay exhibit featuring some impressive costumes. The standout for me was the Warhammer 40K armor--incredible craftsmanship. The second floor is entirely dedicated to Doctor Who, and it's a treat for fans. Lots of interactive elements, costumes, figures, props, and of course, a full lineup of sonic screwdrivers. I also appreciated the educational videos that break down the real science behind the show's concepts. It's playful and surprisingly informative. Overall, this museum shines when you approach it as a celebration of fandom rather than a traditional artifact‑driven museum.
