Every year we host a holiday dinner for our friends as our Christmas gift to them. We worked with Chef Monique to create a menu to suit all 15 of us (including 5 kids) and a handful of picky eaters. Chef Monique was responsive, professional, and creative in customizing a menu to suit all of us and her food was amazing. The biggest hits were the sliders and chicken and waffles but my personal favorite was her Caesar salad dressing which I wish I ordered a gallon of! Chef was open to cooking onsite or doing drop off catering and we went with the latter as we can be a chaotic bunch :) Definitely will work with Chef Monique again! read more

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, I was in desperate need of a private chef to prepare a personalized an intimate brunch for a group of 8 people in my home as an alternative to eating at a nice restaurant. Using the tool on Yelp to obtain quotes from various chefs throughout San Diego, I was fortunate to connect with Chef Mo who responded in a timely manner and put together a reasonably priced Southern style menu to include a charcuterie board as a starter; shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, breakfast casserole, and spicy sausage links for the main course. That meal was so impressive, I contacted Chef Mo the following month to prepare an Asian-Latin inspired dinner menu, and she did not disappoint. Chef Mo's worked diligently to create eclectic dishes such as fresh carne asada spring rolls served with fire roasted tomato salsa; Korean-style nachos topped with bulgogi beef, kimchi, garlic sauce, sour cream, cilantro, sesame seeds; grilled jumbo shrimp and fried fish Tacos served with Mexican street corn and beans. And the dessert - a group demonstration on how to make a strawberry compote empanada, plus homemade whipped cream. Not only did my guests rave about Chef Mo's cooking and ability to accommodate an individual in our party that is gluten-free, but the service she and her assistant, Monica, provides is beyond exceptional. They were both meticulous and followed safety protocols (e.g. wore face masks, followed food safety guidelines, constantly cleaning surface areas, etc.) We're looking forward to booking our next dinner event in 2022 with Chef Mo! read more

It's based on a weekly subscription but the chef is accommodating to alternate schedules if needed, and they can also adapt to some dietary requests. I had been a loyal customer after signing up a few months ago. In that short time I ordered meals over 130 times. Today I had an issue with the lunch I ordered from Tender Greens downtown San Diego. The chicken soup had ZERO chicken, almost no veggies, and was basically a cup of broth. The salad that was advertised as having avocado had NONE. When I contacted Uber Eats to complain, they refused to make any adjustments, claiming it's their "policy" not to rectify issues involving the "quantity" of portions. I guess ZERO quantity is part of the same policy. Only after I closed my account did Uber issue me a refund and a credit. Too late! Both Door Dash and Grub Hub offer superior customer service.
