First time on Father's Day for lunch and we had a great experience! The place is small, clean, and cozy. A fun casual atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. They were super kind with my toddler and amicable with us. The food was delicious. We ordered the sausage sampler with potato salad and also tried the schnitzel sandwich. I was surprised by the portions and the quality of the bread and sauerkraut. So good that we ordered another portion of sauerkraut! Fries came out hot and crispy. We honestly enjoyed all the food. The beers were cold, but my only complaint is that they were out of a few of the draft options. I understand it's Sunday, but that was a bit of a negative. However, we got a draft beer and a bottled beer, and both were fantastic. Parking could be challenging on busy days, but on this occasion we had easy free street parking. Free is very rare thing in Miami. They have happy hour deals every day. I believe around 3 PM. I need to come back to check that out. I saw a sign for Tuesday all-day happy hour and $5 brats. Our server was great and worked really hard as it seemed she was the only one working the front of the house. Started with the big beautiful pretzel which was warm and salty served with mustard and Bircheese. Then some potato pancakes which were hot and crispy. Just perfect. I had the vegetarian sausage ...yep I'm vegetarian and they had it..and it was very good. Served with some perfectly crispy fries and some red cabbage which was great. This place is AMAZING!!! I drive past it every day but have not been inside since it was the cheesesteak place (several iterations ago). We went last night because it was convenient to pop in to wet our whistles and we were not disappointed! First off, it's been renovated to look like a little German ski chalet. The interior is amazing and it is a perfect place to visit around Christmastime! I would imagine if you went during the summer, it would feel like a mini vacation from our unrelenting heat and humidity. They have a great selection of German beers on tap and in bottles. We sampled an IPA, the kolsch, the Kostrizer (a dark lager), the La Chouffe, a cider and a glass of pinot noir (so rest assured, beer avoiders, there is something here for you). All of the beers were delicious, as was the pricing. We also sampled the sausage platter, the fondue and the pretzel. The food was fantastic, even though everyone knows German food is the wurst! Stumbled upon this gem and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes, and it was hands down one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The schnitzel was perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce that was rich, flavorful, and totally addictive. Cute spot for high quality German food. It's in a kinda random location but is worth the trek for the good food. I haven't been for happy hour but remember them advertising good specials, so could also be worth coming out for that. It's decorated to transport you to an authentic establishment in Germany and the menu does the same. We had a chicken schnitzel and it was delicious with a fair portion size for the price. 3.5 stars. The little place is nice inside, has a handful of cuckoo clocks (that work), a friendly and attentive bartender and the owner was nice and welcoming as well. What I wasn't a fan of is parking in little Haiti, and paying $7 for a $2.50 (retail) beer. The pretzel was ok, but didn't seem German, and the lunch bratwursts are 1 per order for $10! The burger looked good, large and well made, the Currywurst was OK, it comes with pommes frites and a house made curry katsup. The wurst was delicious, but with just 1, I'm glad (?) I ordered 2 meals. BUT the same thing for the second dish, Weißwurst. Just 1 wurst on the plate and a pretzel roll. $10. Oh well, check it out for yourself, maybe supper is better. read more

The Summary: This was a very unexpected jewel we found hidden in a corner. Excellent service by our server, Natalia, great schnitzel, wonderful sausages, cold beer, nice goulash, and some sort of a fried applestrudel different from what I had seen before. Worth revisiting. The Experience A little boomed because the Oktoberfest was full so we couldn't get in, we started looking up German food places to at least feel like we celebrated. We found this little place at a corner, very cozy, kind of empty, clean and nice. We were greeted by Natalia and sat at a table. First order of the day: a tall, cold beer, the Koestrizer German dark lager couldn't be in a more perfect chill point. I wished I wasn't driving so I could order another one, but what are you going to do? One had to be enough. As for food, we ordered three dishes to share: A Goulash, a sausage sampler, and a schnitzel. The Bavarian goulash was good. I'm more used to the Hungarian or the Romanian versions, but the Cuckoo Clock's Bavarian Goulash is pretty good in its own right. The original Wiener schnitzel was almost perfect, sided with a nice potato salad and red cole slaw. The more mixed feelings I have are about the sausage sampler. The potato salad and the cole slaw were good, and some of the sausages were very nice while I didn't enjoy a couple of the others, but I couldn't tell you which were which. For desserts, we ordered the apfelstrudel. which was very good, but it reminded me of a huge McDonald's hot apple pie, as opposed to the pastry I usually get when I order an apple strudel anywhere else. Overall this is a place to come back. the service is awesome, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and it's a very peaceful and quiet place to eat. read more

What really sets Cuckoo Clock Brauhaus apart is the atmosphere. It is not your typical German restaurant. It has fun Apres Ski vibes and a lively, cozy, social feel. They also host great events like Oktoberfest, Christmas Market, and Honky Tonk nights, which makes every visit feel special. The service is excellent, super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Free parking is available, and the location is just three minutes from I 95, which makes it very easy to get to. The red cabbage was better than my German mother's version. The beer was cold and a lot. If you like German food this is the place to be at in Miami. The ambiance feels like you are a neighborhood bar eating your grandma's food.It's nestled in a neighborhood that you would not think for this type of place but they have made it work. It has only been opened for two months but it feels like it's alway been there. My husband and I went on a Friday night. People were at the bar when we entered and a few eating dinner. The waitress was friendly and our food came out pretty fast. The food was excellent. We started with the pretzel. It's big and the mustard that comes with it comes from Germany. I could have eaten that all night. Next I ordered the Gulash and my husband ordered the Grilled Brat Entree. It was also so good! To finish we had the Apfelstrudel . All I can say is Wow! Dishes are hearty German fare. We ordered the schnitzel, and it was perfect. Shallow-fried in butter, perfectly crispy, very generous and extremely tasty, with a side of German potato salad and red cabbage. We also ordered the weiss-wurst, potato pancakes, and garden salad. All large portions and extremely well executed. All in all a great concept. Went there last night and as always, it was fabulous. Except for the neighborhood you will not find a better German restaurant. The pretzel is huge and 3 people shared it. Potato pancakes come in 3's and are big, with sour crème and apple sauce. Totally recommend the schnitzel which comes with perfect potato salad and warm beets. Not what I was expecting in a location I was not expecting. Very new Bavarian style bar and restaurant that you will drive by if you are not paying attention. Pay attention. They are doing it right from the start. The ambience is cozy like a ski lodge. The food is fresh and comforting like Oma makes. From the mustards and beer cheese to the potato salad and wurst, the place offers authentic German, Austrian, and Belgian cuisine. Ask for the sweet mustard for your fresh and perfectly salted pretzel. Save some bread from the bratwurst sandwich for the beer cheese. Beer and wine selections aren't many but they are true to the region and complement the food. Ask Caroline for her recommendation to pair their beers or wines with your food. She is brilliant. Miami does not offer much in the way of a true German dining and drinking experience outside of the Oktoberfest at the German American club.
