Cuckoos cafe is so nice in terms of how many options they have for coffee drinks and yummy bites to eat. I love the funky atmosphere they have created with wall writing and cozy seating. They have privacy kind of booths that are nice and tucked in. I loved studying there. I only tried their iced dalgona coffee that is a whipped up coffee and so rich and nice to the taste. It is a must to try and I highly recommend it. I do want to go back and try some tea drink next time and eat some yummy food snack choice as well. This place is in Duluth in a plaza which is busy but parking is still ok to find a spot. Highly recommend for studying, coffee, or just chill out area with friends. read more

Food is, for the most part, consistent and delicious! I've had the fries (spicy), chicken nuggets (spicy), and even the bentos there. I never really have any complaints about the food or the drinks. This time, I got the wintermelon milk tea (less sugar & less ice) with tapioca pearls, and even though I don't normally get the pearls, Cuckoo's are pretty solid! They're chewy and slightly sweet, which is perfect. Today, I got the fries (spicy), and they were savory and salty with a bit of spice to them. In my opinion, they could've cooked them a JUST A LITTLE BIT longer because it somewhat has that very, very slight undercooked potato texture fries can have, but it won't be very noticeable to someone who isn't psychotic like me about fries. I've been to this location a couple of times, and the workers working there have always been really sweet to me. I have never had issues with bad service or anything like that. Another nit-picky complaint I do have is that if you come with a group to study, the stone tables are not for you if you are short. I love that there is plenty of seating with outlets, but studying with a group of friends at the booths does hurt my arms as they are set up a bit too high and a bit too far for my arms to rest comfortably. I came here to study and eat lunch. I ordered a Winter Melon Milk Tea with Tapioca Pearls and Chicken Cutlet Bento Box. Both orders were very tasty. The bento box was very fragrant. They gave a lot of chicken and the vegetable and egg side dishes were delectable. The chicken cutlet reminded me of my mother's cutlet recipe. I finished the bento box easily. The Winter Melon Milk tea wasn't too sweet. The tapioca pearls have the perfect chewiness. There was a nice ratio between milk tea and pearls. You will have to ask for pearls, which are free, with your drink. The price for the milk tea was more expensive compared to other boba shops, but it was worth it in my opinion. The service was very nice. The front counter workers are kind and they make your drink and food within a reasonable time. The atmosphere is suitable for either hanging out or studying. I was here for a while and was able to get things done without being distracted by the background music. My only critique for this place would be the drawings and writings on the tables and walls, which were initially off-putting but I got used to it. I would come back again. 9/10 read more

The place was very quaint and the vibe was chill, while entering we noticed the unique drawings and the chicken plushies around the establishment, the ones posted here are many of the unique ones and I thought them to be incredible. They have a variety of drink options (milk tea, real fruit, yogurt, cheese foam, hot tea, slushies, etc) and sandwiches & snacks as well! I wasn't hungry when I went, so I didn't try any of their food, but I was tempted as I was looking through the menu. I was told that their chicken nuggets are really good. They serve Takoyaki as well which I love so I may come back one day to try! I've tried both their wintermelon milk tea and the mango milk tea. There's nothing in getting cafe food for dinner... We ordered a variety of things: Chicken nuggets, chicken cutlet bento, chicken sandwich, pork egg sandwich, chicken cutlet. For me I wanted to try the chicken sandwich the most, but was lured to get the pork sandwich and also getting the cutlet. Yeah. I know, I kind of went overboard with wanting to try both the chicken sandwich and the pork egg sandwich and chicken cutlet. I would say if I had to choose one thing, it would have to be to get the chicken sandwich. It's not a small sandwich either. Both of the sandwiches were properly sized. The chicken cutlet was exactly what it is, a chicken cutlet nothing else. Pork sandwich I enjoyed, but I would say that the chicken sandwich won it for me. I would say if you wanted to get this I would suggest to get the bento which came with rice and some side dishes as well. I had samples of the nuggets, which I thought was pretty awesome and addictive. If you had spicy popcorn chicken at Sweet Hut, these aren't as spicy but the flavor is there and I think there's probably a bigger portion compared to the other places making it a winner for me. Next time I'm here, I definitely know what I'm ordering and I think I'll venture into the drinks and getting their boba and trying that out. Cuckoo's Cafe is a Taiwanese tea and snack cafe that opened in the old 7 Coffee & Wine space (https://bit.ly/3azMyii) on Steve Reynolds Blvd near Satellite Blvd. The cafe debuted in September 2020 and has been a success so far with good business throughout the fall and into winter. It's not hard to see why with the cafe's cute, versatile space and varied menu with fun, unique snack items and delicious, refreshing drinks. A second location is coming soon to Buford Highway in Doraville in the old Tea House Formosa space: http://bit.ly/38FSDHB. Cuckoo's Cafe sells Taiwanese fried snacks similar to places like Quickly and Sweet Hut (e.g. chicken nuggets). However, they also offer Taiwanese street food that's harder to find elsewhere in metro Atlanta such as their Tainan rolls. Drinks include real fruit tea (they call them "Tea Cocktails" here) - similar to Yi Fang - real fruit smoothies, yogurt drinks, slushies, and milk and non-milk teas (including bubble tea). The space itself is sizable with a nice variety of seating options. Whether you want to lounge and/or play games at one of the couch and coffee table areas, get work done at one of the tables or countertops, or have a quiet, private booth to yourself, Cuckoo's features more seating options than your typical bubble tea shop. In this sense, it's more like a Mozart or White Windmill. Cuckoo's has plenty of outdoor seating too (uncovered). There's a shelf with board/tabletop games, a screen they project movies on in the evenings, and a few other digital displays throughout (playing K-pop and other videos). I tried a decent sampling of Cuckoo's menu. Here's what we got, separated by menu section: Cuckoo's Cuisine * Cuckoo's Chicken Sandwich ($4.99) - hand-breaded chicken thigh topped with pickled vegetable slaw; spicy version with spicy mayo and jalapeno * Taiwanese Chicken Nuggets ($4.99) - hand-breaded, made fresh in-house; spicy version with garlic and onion (+$0.75) Cuckoo's Bites * Tofu Puffs ($3.99) * Taiwan Sausage (2 pieces for $4.49) * Spicy Sausage (2 pieces for $4.49) * Tainan Chicken Roll ($6.99) * Tainan Shrimp Roll ($7.99) Cuckoo's Sweets * Taiyaki (5 pieces for $3.99) - with red bean filling Tea Cocktails * Fruitarian ($5.50) - pineapple, passion fruit jam, grapefruit, orange * Snap Dragon ($5.50) - strawberry jam, pineapple, orange First, the food. Overall, the quality was pretty consistent across the board. Generally, it was good quality, but there were definitely some items that my wife and I preferred over other items. Those included the Chicken Sandwich (spicy version), Spicy Sausage, and Taiyaki. I recommend all three; of course, the former two if you like spicy food. The Spicy Sausage has a really nice kick to it. It's sweet too, with umami. It's like eating the Asian version of chorizo or sopressata. I liked the regular Taiwan sausage too, though it's "just" sweet and more run-of-the-mill (still, not bad and worth ordering). The Chicken Nuggets (top seller) aren't anything you haven't really seen before. Portions were generous and I suggest both the garlic and onion add-ons. The garlic is cooked and the onion (white) is raw. The Chicken Sandwich is like eating a giant nugget in sandwich form. Crispy, well-seasoned, tender, and juicy. I thought the bun could've used some work, but the meat was on point. It may compare favorably to your favorite fast food chicken sandwich. :) My wife doesn't like tofu and she enjoyed the Tofu Puffs, 'nuff said. They were nicely-seasoned, light and airy, and she found them just as satisfying as the chicken nuggets. I preferred the nuggets, but the Tofu Puffs are a great alternative if you're vegetarian. The Tainan Chicken and Shrimp Rolls reminded us of dim sum. The rolls had fried tofu skin, meat fillings, and appetizing, vinegary, Taiwanese cabbage slaw on the side (same slaw used in the sandwich, I believe). If you're looking for a heartier, more substantial, and meaty snack to go with your drink, try one of these tasty rolls. The Taiyaki, fried Japanese fish-shaped cakes with filling, were excellent. Each piece melted in my mouth. Crispy on outside with plenty of delectable filling on the inside. Custard filling is also an option. As for the drinks, I really enjoyed both the Fruitarian (less sweet) and Snap Dragon (more sweet). We liked how there were real chopped-up tiny pieces of fruit in the drinks that could be sucked through the straw. There were also fresh, ripe, whole slices of fruit which I took out and ate by hand after finishing the drinks. The tea flavor was strong and concentrated, so there was a nice balance of tea and fruit flavors. There were floral undertones as well. At default sweetness, the drinks weren't too sweet, which was good. Also, the drinks came with no ice by default, which was great (no dilution, true flavors). The popular milk teas here are Brown Sugar, Winter Melon, Jasmine, and Thai ($3.99-4.50 each, first topping free). Service was outstanding. read more

I've only had take out these handfuls of times, but I absolutely love their Taiwanese pork chop sandwich! The egg gives it a nice touch. This is a really filling sandwich. The Cuckoo's chicken sandwich was pretty good too! Though it was a tad messy to consume from what I can remember (saucy), it was a sizable sandwich. The slaw gave it unique textures and flavors, but there was too much that one time. The 6 piece takoyaki was good, but it wasn't as great (value and quality wise) as the sandwiches. I truly think the inside could have used more filling. I felt like it was sort of more hollow than other takoyaki's I've tried before. I've had one of their slushies (oh I can't remember which), and it was pretty average imo. I remember the flavor was average with the drink having little bits of ice chunks. I didn't order any drinks but their drink menu is massive. Looking forward to trying one of their drinks next time. They also have a snack/food menu which was great! This is a fairly new restaurant that just opened and located in a small shopping center. It's very easy to find from the main road and plenty of parking. There's lots of space inside, very clean and most importantly the staff is so friendly and able to give answers to our questions since it's a new place. This is a Taiwanese snacks and tea restaurant. I got the taiyaki filled with custard. You get 5 pieces of little fishies for $3.99 and the batter was way different than other places I've had before. Honestly my favorite !!! It was so light and crispy. Not chewy and bready like most. Custard filling tasted perfect and just the right amount. I would definitely recommend these. Cuckoos spicy chicken sandwich consisted of a chicken thigh, spicy Mayo, jalapeño, and slaw on a sesame bun. It was crispy and hot, delicious and it could be spicier but the flavor was delicious. There's plenty of drinks to choose from such as milk teas, slush, fruit tea, hot and cold drinks. Ask them for advise to find your perfect match. I got mango green tea with boba and taro milk tea with chia seeds and grass jelly. Both were delicious and perfect in the chewey texture of the boba. I really like this cafe, especially for the food and the interior space. The drinks are good as well, with a lot of fruity options, and I like that you can just combine any fruit + tea (peach oolong, or pineapple black tea, etc) as a drink. Drinks are on the pricey side but the food is pretty value. The food here is very good and mostly consists of a lot of fried snacks and sandwiches. They also have a couple bentos that are satisfying. I love the fried chicken nuggets and fried tofu. You can add fresh garlic and spicy seasoning as well. I got the chicken cutlet bento and it was a pretty good amount of juicy, crispy chicken with a fried egg and rice. It comes with "veggies" but the one time I got it it was 100% celery which I hate lol - I'm not sure if that changes day by day. I also like that there are a lot of private booths, some with curtains, around the edges of the interior space that are good for studying or more private gatherings.
