I did not get to try the drinks this time. Service was fast. Cashier was friendly. I like the private individual table settings, divided walls, as well as long tables for bigger groups. The snacks were on point. I got fried tofu, fries, chicken nuggets, and chicken bites which had so much minced garlic! So good! Snacks for flaming hot and crispy. True definition of snacks taste and quality! There is a mini sauce/powder flavoring area if you want to add more to your snacks. They use baskets instead of food trays. Cute concept.

Love the food and drinks! My go to study place! Serve is always good and the ambience is quiet and everyone is nice and quiet when studying

    Chicken Cutlet Bento

I came here to study and eat lunch. I ordered a Winter Melon Milk Tea with Tapioca Pearls and Chicken Cutlet Bento Box. Both orders were very tasty. The bento box was very fragrant. They gave a lot of chicken and the vegetable and egg side dishes were delectable. The chicken cutlet reminded me of my mother's cutlet recipe. I finished the bento box easily. The Winter Melon Milk tea wasn't too sweet. The tapioca pearls have the perfect chewiness. There was a nice ratio between milk tea and pearls. You will have to ask for pearls, which are free, with your drink. The price for the milk tea was more expensive compared to other boba shops, but it was worth it in my opinion. The service was very nice. The front counter workers are kind and they make your drink and food within a reasonable time. The atmosphere is suitable for either hanging out or studying. I was here for a while and was able to get things done without being distracted by the background music. My only critique for this place would be the drawings and writings on the tables and walls, which were initially off-putting but I got used to it. I would come back again. 9/10

Adorable little cafe spot. Great quiet spot to work from. The service is quick and they are kind and the drinks/snacks are full of flavor and goodness!

The place was very quaint and the vibe was chill, while entering we noticed the unique drawings and the chicken plushies around the establishment, the ones posted here are many of the unique ones and I thought them to be incredible. The place allows you to write on the tables, seats and walls with a couple rules. Another thing was that the boba tea was very interesting , we ordered the mango tea and Thai milk tea. The employees were very nice , so overall I see it as a good place to settle for a bit and chill.

My go to study spot. Clean bathrooms. Study cubbies are the best. Great customer service. I would gatekeep this place if I could!! One thing I would mention is to bring headphones or earbuds since people do get obnoxiously loud at times and the employees also shout out your order number... they could improve by providing buzzers similar to nearby cafes and restaurants.

Mango milk tea with lychee jelly

Cuckoos Cafe is a cute little shop that reminds me of a nicer version of Quickly. They have a variety of drink options (milk tea, real fruit, yogurt, cheese foam, hot tea, slushies, etc) and sandwiches & snacks as well! I wasn't hungry when I went, so I didn't try any of their food, but I was tempted as I was looking through the menu. I was told that their chicken nuggets are really good. They serve Takoyaki as well which I love so I may come back one day to try! I've tried both their wintermelon milk tea and the mango milk tea. Their wintermelon takes about the same as any other wintermelon elsewhere, but I was happy to see they have a mango milk tea! I love mango and it's not something you see on a menu often. I'll definitely be coming here more for that in the future. You can customize ice and sugar levels. I got half ice and half sugar which was perfect. I Iove that their drinks aren't too sweet. They have a good selection of toppings as well including mango and lychee jelly. And not that I ever need to substitute milk, but that's an option as well! There's plenty of seating room, and this would be a great place to come hang out while drinking bubble tea or eating snacks.

    Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken

Stopped by for a quick snack of Taiwanese Fried Chicken. Did not disappoint! I could tell how fresh from the fryer since it was really hot. The chicken was super tender and the breading was super crispy and flavorful. The nuggets were big pieces as well which made it even juicer. The place was really spacious with plenty of booths and tables to study and eat.

First things first: COVID-19 wise, have to have masks super spacious and when I went it seemed that everyone followed those instructions. **Food review** Trying to figure out what to eat is always a challenge for us, so when we saw Cuckoo's Cafe and their menu it was something simple and also something that we could pick up and go. There's nothing in getting cafe food for dinner... We ordered a variety of things: Chicken nuggets, chicken cutlet bento, chicken sandwich, pork egg sandwich, chicken cutlet. For me I wanted to try the chicken sandwich the most, but was lured to get the pork sandwich and also getting the cutlet. Yeah. I know, I kind of went overboard with wanting to try both the chicken sandwich and the pork egg sandwich and chicken cutlet. I would say if I had to choose one thing, it would have to be to get the chicken sandwich. It's not a small sandwich either. Both of the sandwiches were properly sized. The chicken cutlet was exactly what it is, a chicken cutlet nothing else. Pork sandwich I enjoyed, but I would say that the chicken sandwich won it for me. I would say if you wanted to get this I would suggest to get the bento which came with rice and some side dishes as well. I had samples of the nuggets, which I thought was pretty awesome and addictive. If you had spicy popcorn chicken at Sweet Hut, these aren't as spicy but the flavor is there and I think there's probably a bigger portion compared to the other places making it a winner for me. Next time I'm here, I definitely know what I'm ordering and I think I'll venture into the drinks and getting their boba and trying that out. But by far, if you're looking for a meal and you want to venture out from normal meals try this place for a to go experience.

Stopped by Cuckoo's Cafe for an afternoon snack. The cafe is big and there's plenty of parking. Masks are required, social distancing encouraged and sanitizer provided. The staff was friendly, patient and helpful. They have extensive menu and offer a wide variety of drinks, snacks and more. I wasn't hungry, just wanted to try a drink. I ordered a wintermelon milk tea with soy milk and boba ~$5. The drink comes in one size, large. I asked for less sugar and less ice. The milk tea was creamy yet refreshing. It was sweet but not too sweet. The boba had perfect texture. I'm kinda picky when it comes to wintermelon milk teas and theirs did not disappoint. It was fantastic! Can't wait to go back and try their snacks.

I've had Mama's Kitchen on my list for a while once it popped up on my Taiwanese cuisine radar. It looks like the menu has expanded to included non-Taiwanese dishes, maybe to suit the tastes of the other cultures in the area. However, I was going straight for the Taiwanese favorites, including the Braised Minced Pork over Rice (滷肉飯), fried chicken cutlet over rice and of course the classic beef noodle soup. Everything was a-ok! Service was friendly, even inside the H-Mart food court. My favorite was the minced pork over rice (i even ordered a second order to go LOL), but the chicken cutlet and beef noodle soup hit the spot. If you're looking for some casual Taiwanese classics quick and easy, definitely recommend Mama's Kitchen!

It has minced ground pork and a nice brown sauce. A good side dish to complement any meal. The Zha Jiang Mian is pretty good! It has nice chunks of pork and shrimp that give the dish a nice bite. Great to order if you have kids. I usually get the food to go since it's in a food court inside hmart, and I want the whole meal experience at home. But the food court there is pretty quiet with a lot of tables to sit. The food comes out pretty fast and the front cashier girl has quick service skills. This is a good place to get food for a good hearty Taiwanese meal! Very good and hits the satisfaction factor every time!

I'm not expecting top-notch at small spots like this but felt the staff was actually rather rude as opposed to just being purely inattentive. It wasn't busy for a Sunday lunch but it's in a very tucked away location on Lakefield Drive. We ordered the beef noodle soup, gravy noodles, potstickers, XLB, and egg tarts. While presentation was great everything fell short except for the XLB and egg tarts. I do like that there is an option for a small portion of noodles - great if you want room to try other dishes. Noodles themselves were nice and chewy but the flavor and thickness of the broths felt like I was eating ramen instead of Chinese or Taiwanese noodle soups. Meats were tender. The gravy noodles had fish, pork, and duck in it and had too many mixes of flavors for us. The potstickers were large but too oily and didn't have much flavor inside. XLB were standard - I thought they were fine but could have used some more soup. Egg tarts were also flaky and good as expected. The waitress said be careful as they were hot from the oven but I couldn't wait since I love dessert. It was cold in the center lol. Otherwise flavor was great. Def have mixed feelings about this spot. Try it for yourself and see what you think.
