Amazing Taiwanese food! I ordered fish filet with crab meat and roe , pick two dry pot (crispy fish filet+pork intestine), crispy pork intestine, and beef malatang. 1. The fish filet with crab meat and roe - an interesting dish with mild but still tasty flavor of fish filet. 2. Crispy pork intestine- crunchy on the outside but still soft on the inside. 3. Pick two dry pot- the best option to try 2 different kinds of protein in one pot. Not too spicy, but still have a mild numbing flavor. 4. Beef malatang- not the best out of the four dishes as it's too peppery for me, but one of the most flavorful and tender beef dish. The restaurant is a great place for a family or friend hangouts with shareable dishes. Attentive and helpful staff to guide us through the menu.

Amazing! New favorite Taiwanese restaurant (they also have really good dry pot which I think is where the name comes from). Go for their family style dishes - the portions are large and authentic, and still reasonably priced. I felt so nostalgic seeing dishes that I haven't seen in a restaurant in Atlanta until now - clams with squash, pork knuckle with peanuts. Some favorites include the crab roe tofu, salt and pepper squid, pocket tofu, and intestine dry pot. The gua bao also is huge and delicious. The only things that were not amazing but still good were the beef noodle soup (soup a little bland) and the 3 cup chicken (too much sugar). I come about once a month because its one of the only places my parents ever want to eat at. Our server (I think she is also one of the owners) was super nice as well and always recommends Taiwanese dishes that I'm not sure are on the usual menu.

    A pleasant corner.

Hunan Garden restaurant in Johns Creek is 50 miles away from where we are. But, it sure was worth the drive. A quaint corner with parking right up front got us in and seated at a convenient table for four of us. Great to be greeted with a friendly smile and "An" was very helpful. Lets start with 8 pieces of Pan Fried Pork dumpling and Hot Sour soup. The soup was freshly made and had all the ingredients we expected. We saw the " specials" written on the wall and ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork and the Noodles with Beef. Both of these "off the menu" specials were outstanding. We also ordered vegetable dishes that were vegan friendly such as Lotus Root and Eggplant with Tofu Hakka stir fry and a grand way of preparing Shredded spicy Cabbage the Taiwanese way. An additional specialty was one called the Lamb Dry Pot. The food that was served covered every inch of our table and we were very happy with the attentive care we received. It was an abundant amount of delicious Taiwanese style of cooking and we packed leftovers for another meal. We experienced a very clean Hunan Garden restaurant that was very pleasant and accommodating. The drive home was long as we watched daylight into a sunsetting glow. A perfect ending to a great foodies roadtrip to Hunan Garden.

Very solid Chinese restaurant! Food was spectacular! Great service. The only downsides are that the dining room has limited seating, and parking spots are limited. Otherwise, I would highly recommend trying this place out!

    Stuffed tofu with ground chicken

Greatly enjoyed the Ginger Clam Soup with Basil, Taiwanese Fried Chicken Nuggets (with garlic and basil) and Stuffed Tofu with Ground Chicken. My wife was pleased to learn that the breading on the chicken nuggets is gluten free. Great service and delicious food.

This is a great place to grab some good Chinese food in the area. The inside is small but nicely decorated so it feels comfortable and homey. The waitress was really attentive to our table and our food came really quickly. I think their stir fry's and malatangs were really good. Definitely would like to come again to try some more of their dishes.

Soupy Dan Dan Noodle with Ground Pork

GREAT dry pot but terrible dan dan noodles. Of the hundreds of the dan dan noodles i've had, i've never had soupy ones like the one here, and for a good reason...it's not supposed to be soupy! But the chili dry pot with crispy fish fillets made the meal bearable. Service was good and it was pretty packed on a Sunday afternoon. Free parking in the parking lot.

Came for dinner on a Sunday and they were packed! There were many big tables here and I can see why. The server who took our order was really nice and even told us there would be a bit of a delay on food because of how busy they were but I thought the food came out pretty quickly! We started off with the plum juice to drink. I really liked it but I would definitely say it is an acquired taste. It is not a regular plum juice, but a preserved plum. We ordered the beef noodle soup, Hakka style eggplant and the fish fillet mala dry pot. We ordered the dry pot with medium spice and I didn't think it was too spicy. The beef noodle soup was sooo good! The noodles were not too soft and was cooked perfectly. The beef was so tender and there was tons of been packed into the bowl. There was also lots of bokchoy. The soup was pretty flavorful but a little salty. The eggplant was definitely my favorite dish. The eggplant was soft and flavorful. The sauce was salty and had a hint of spice. This dish also was cooked with lots of green onion which I loved. The dry pot came with a variety of vegetables mixed in such as wood ear mushroom, lotus root, potato's, cauliflower and more. The fish was meaty and soo tender. Not fishy at all. I really enjoyed the dry pot! Overall, I really enjoyed all the dishes here and would definitely come back again!

Pick Two Dry Pot (beef and Fish)

I ordered the spicy pick two dry pot with beef and fish fillet. I have been looking forward to trying this place for a while but I was a little bit disappointed with the flavor. It was way too salty and not spicy enough, it was not spicy at all although i ordered the spicy level. The beef was also paper thin almost like tissue paper. I did enjoy the texture of the fish fillet and the veggies like lotus root and wood ear mushrooms. Also the serving was pretty huge, probably enough for two people (but then it was $27 including tax so the serving size makes sense)

A pretty good food spot for authentic Hunan food. All the guys, and even myself, really enjoyed ourselves. We all left super stuffed. Lunch time is jam packed with folks. Since the place is quite small, you'll have to wait a little bit. The food breakdown we shared: * Wood ear mushrooms with ginger: Though simple, it's tasty. My friend who brought us here even made a comment. * Spicy beef tripe & tendon: There's definitely a slight kick to this. * Hakka stir fry eggplant: This was really good! There was a slight crunch on the skin with a soft interior. I must say it was a flavorful eggplant. * Taiwanese rice noodle pork: I'm not a fan of those clear noodles, which this dish turned out to be. But, it was rather good. The whole group seemed to have liked it as well. * Pick two dry pot: Fish and shrimp. Super flavorful and delicious! All the spices and flavors were infused in the fish and shrimp. The fish was particularly a hit. And apparently you can order the shrimp without the head and shell. We're all lazy folks. Haha. * Pick two malatang: Fish and lamb. It's super salty and not a fan favorite. To even get down to the bottom where the noodles were, there was a lot of msg. The only thing I personally really enjoyed about this pick was the fish. Asian food to me could be meh at times. Some Chinese restaurants are undistinguishable from another. There's just something authentic about Hunan Garden. And I also saw people of various ethnicities dine in so that's something.

Food - phenomenal. it was my first time trying Hunan food and I loved every dish. We ordered Malatang and a beef and fish dry pot. I will say it's a bit salty though. Service - very good service! Ambiance - such cute decor

    Take out receipt

I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, House special fried rice (Shrimp and Chicken) and Mixed Veg Chicken with medium spice last evening. Food was very bland and without any taste. I have dined in here before and food was better than average but last night food just killed it. May be their cook has changed.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

I never really have any complaints about the food or the drinks. Another nit-picky complaint I do have is that if you come with a group to study, the stone tables are not for you if you are short. I love that there is plenty of seating with outlets, but studying with a group of friends at the booths does hurt my arms as they are set up a bit too high and a bit too far for my arms to rest comfortably. They do have high chairs to sit on, but I believe they're good if you're there by yourself.
