Dani came by to meet my bird before my trip and did a wonderful job taking the time to get to know her and understand her needs. Unfortunately, my travel plans changed and I ended up not needing pet sitting services this summer. Even so, I wanted to leave a review because I was so impressed with the company. They were responsive, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about both their clients and their pets. Communication was excellent, and their website made scheduling and payment incredibly easy.

Molly was recommended by a friend as "the dog whisperer" and that is correct. We have a little senior guy who loves other doggo's but doesn't have any teeth to defend himself, so it has been really difficult to find a boarder for him to be safe. Even having friends who he is familiar with staying at the house hasn't worked out. Insert Doggy Lama. We did a trial run of boarding with Molly, and he passed so we were able to schedule a weeklong vacation knowing he would have the best time. He got to hang out with some other senior dogs and have long walks in the wilderness and lots of doggo time. Molly kept us posted daily with pictures of our little man being a dog. The experience way outperformed expectations. We are working to sign our guy up for some walking adventures throughout the week. Go see Doggy Lama for all your needs.

Piedmont Pet is an excellent in-home boarding and daycare provider for small dogs. Nervous pet owners like me will appreciate the genuine care, attention to detail, and communication Karen brings to every pet care interaction. Our little 17-lb terrier mix has a few health issues and is on a special diet and meds, and needs to be in an environment where he will be handled gently. We never, ever worry with Karen! She was extremely thorough when we first started working with her, making time to ask lots of good questions and answer all of ours. She is a confident and very experienced animal lover who organizes and handles small-dog pack walks like the pro she is. We get daily photos of his adventures when our dog is with Piedmont Pet which we really, really appreciate. Karen takes care of him like one of her own (little sweaters in the winter, no-pull harnesses, comfy beds and blankets, etc.), and we can tell he feels secure and comfortable with her and his "vacation pack". His time there is a great mix of snuggles and downtime and walks and enrichment time. Karen also provides drop-in visits for our cat when we're away which we really appreciate. Our cat doesn't like anyone and she actually plays with Karen and allows pets (we get pics and videos of this too)! We feel secure knowing our sweet little dog buddy is in great hands and our less-sweet but still loved cat buddy is getting wet food and playtime when we can't be there. Strongly recommend Piedmont Pet, especially to anyone with small dogs in the East Bay in search of secure, loving home boarding or daycare!

She has a very soothing and kind voice and gentle approach with our dog. She has a key to our house and picks up our pup. Our cockapoo and maybe terrier rescue is almost a year old. We've had her for 4 months and she's still "in training". She adores Coleen. We all adore Coleen and her team! Coleen has special days where you can schedule spa treatments/grooming sessions for your pet. Another great service is when she picks up pet supplies for you and drops it off at your home. They were also able to handle pop-up travel - another plus. My only negative - and it's more of an industry thing perhaps - is that it's costly - $25/day. That really adds up when I have to be on the road for a couple of weeks. That said, I would MUCH rather pay MLFYP that amount than, say, a kennel or PetSmart. My latest sitters Bill and Nancy are wonderful with my 3 cats. My cats are very shy, and I know that Bill or Nancy do everything they can to respect that and try to make a connection with them on their visits. Sometimes one of the cats might want to play or get petted or maybe not. They are always well cared for and I can relax on my trips knowing they are in the best hands. They want to know in detail every detail of the routine, so they can make sure things are normal as expected for the kitties. When I get home there is a handwritten letter on my table from the sitter, telling me welcome home and some stories of how it went while I was gone. The founder/owner Wendy is one of the nicest most caring people I have ever met. Her love of animals and her experience and knowledge is obvious and as a pet-parent that gives me peace of mind. I would highly recommend Wendy and Mothers Love.

The rates are so reasonable and the owners really do this out of love for dogs. It's great because they won't take on too many pets at one time so each animal gets a lot of one-on-one care. They were also flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, which allowed me to be less stressed. One of my favorite things was that I received email updates with photos to let me know how well my dog was doing. I am totally confident with their capability in handling all dogs of size and temperament. My dog can be dog-aggressive and right away it was clear to me that there would be no issues leaving him in this home, as they are great at establishing pack order and never allowing a situation to escalate in the first place. It is like having one of those fancy dog hotels right in my neighborhood, but with less stress for my dog, and on my wallet. I shall be using this boarding center in the future.

It's tough to find walkers that serve…read moreEast Oakland and I was lucky to run into Christine at the dog park the very week I needed someone to start making daytime visits. She takes the dogs out for over an hour of actual time hiking and playing - a huge plus over other walkers that charge the same for a quick walk around the block! I always come home to a happy and tired pup. She is also really flexible with scheduling and is great about accommodating last minute requests whether it's a cancellation or adding an extra walk one week. She's helped me out in a last minute situation many times. You can tell she genuinely loves and cares for the animals in her charge - she even sends photos of them having fun on their hikes! I tend to be a worrier, so it's great to have someone that I know is taking great care of my baby!
