This is the first time I've ever had a bad experience at a dentist office. I recently moved into…read morethe area and needed a new dentist. I thought I had booked a cleaning, but after I arrived I was told the appointment would just be an examination. The x-rays were done on film that needed to be developed. The hygienist began to explain my gums were in bad condition and I had deep pockets that would need scaling and root planning, but she wasn't sure if it was deep enough of a pocket for insurance to pay for it. I declined, saying if it didn't make it to the level where insurance thought it needed to be covered, I didn't want it. She then disappeared to get the dentist and came back to say she asked the front desk to ask my insurance about it anyway. Which I was immediately uncomfortable about. Then, the dentist came in and told me I needed to get the SRP because gum disease never goes away, basically not giving me an option, and there was no further conversation about a regular cleaning. I have never had a cavity before. Regular dentist visits every six months, and never a concern about gum disease. They told my insurance I needed scaling and cleaning on all four quadrants of teeth. It took me months to finally go to another dentist after that experience for a second opinion. My gum pockets were almost all 3 with two 4s. 3mm gum pockets are normal. The 4mm gum pockets did not need scaling and rooting. If anything, the second dentist said cleanings every 4 months instead of six. Would not recommend.

I was referred to him by my former dentist when I moved here, so I didn't just pick him out of the yellow pages, but it's always a little nerve-wracking trying a new doctor/dentist. Dr. Gray is friendly and patient in his explanations, taking time to sit down with you and discuss your records personally at your first appointment. His office is very well-run; every person with whom I've interacted has been cheerful and helpful, from the hygienists to the front desk staff. Cleanings are done thoroughly but efficiently so that you are in and out in under an hour. This place really seems to run on time; I've had both morning and late afternoon appointments and never sat in the waiting room longer than 5 minutes. I just wish every medical office could be so nice!

I had recently moved from NYC to DC and was terrified of all dentists and especially new ones. Dr. Gray was recommended by my previous dentist, so I had a lot of faith he would at least be "okay". Well not only was he "okay" I feel like he is the most detailed, sincere and talented dentist around. I had a tough task for Dr. Gray when I first met him: fix my teeth before my wedding which was almost exactly 1 year away. I began Invisalign right away and he took a pretty intense route to get me to the desired shape by my wedding. Because of this I got to know the staff very well and in the process felt like they were friends! It has now been 4 months since my wedding and I have still been going on a regular basis because Dr. Gray still felt like he could make my teeth look even more "perfect". Unfortunately, today was my last appointment at the office and when I was leaving the staff came out to say goodbye with hugs and gifts. It is not every day you find a practice that is so sincere and warm. I will miss them all. I wanted to add a few notes on the other staff who made my many many many visits amazing! Sandra is the schedule queen...she always found a way to get me in with my hectic schedule. Wanda always has a smile on her face and is very sincere!! Alta is very kind and gentle (which was always appreciated). Mindy could possibly run the practice she is quick but thorough and is as sharp as a tack...personally I would trust her with anything. There are many many more that were all helpful but these are the guys I worked with regularly! I cannot say enough about this practice. I am terrified to try another dentist on the west coast, but I am sure I can trust Dr. Gray's recommendations. He and his staff will be missed!!!!

She seems to be a gem of a human and a more than capable dentist. Her bedside manner is top notch. I feel welcomed and comfortable bringing my daughters and wife here for service as well. The office staff and dental assistants had exceptional communication and care standards. There is plenty parking and office is easy to find and access. Not far from 495 University Blvd. highway exit, same road. Appointment time was met without need to wait. I was even quite a bit early to fill first time forms but they were still able accommodate and conveniently see me a little earlier than scheduled appointment. I am grateful to have found this office and Dr. Kiana Rostamiani.

Dr. Saba is an excellent dentist. My wife found her practice after researching practitioners in…read moreour network in the area, and we've been going to Falls Church Dental now for at least 4 years. Specifically, here's why I'd recommend Dr. Saba: (1) zero up-sells. Dr. Saba only advises fluoride at extra cost to me, which I always opt for - no gadgets, whitening kits, fancy brushes, etc. (2) You're dealing with the dentist at least 50% of the time. A typical appointment involves Dr. Saba cleaning your teeth and evaluating them, followed by a polish performed by the hygienist. This is a huge shift from my former dentist in Pennsylvania, whose hygienists did everything and you really only saw the dentist for like 5 minutes. (3) Thorough, quality work. Dr. Saba's cleanings are thorough (trust me, if your teeth aren't a little sore the next day, they probably aren't getting that deep dentist clean), and her filling work is excellent. She did my first (and so far only) cavity, and was courteous with my needle-phobia. Dr. Saba's office is clean and tidy, and her procedural equipment is spotless with all the expected sanitary practices in place. I couldn't find dust or dirt if I tried, and I've never spent enough time in the waiting room to review the magazines since I've never had to wait. I was hesitant to write this review, only because I don't want too many new patients to make it hard for me to get an appointment :)

I was referred by one of my own patients to Burk & Flinn and had high expectations for the quality…read moreand care I would receive. Unfortunately Dr. Burk as a healthcare provider is despicable and I recommend no one to spend money at this practice with this doctor present. Never in my ENTIRE LIFE have I been so belittled and disrespected in a professional setting as a PATIENT. I was not treated like a patient and would NEVER treat a patient the way that Dr. Burk treated me. I am disgusted at his actions, lack of empathy, unethical practices, dishonesty and bedside manner. I received previous orthodontic treatment for 10+ years. I visited Burk and Flinn for Invisalign. I was required to pay a deposit for records fees and gladly paid. During imaging, the tech removed by bottom permanent retainer. Ultimately, I decided not to move forward with treatment. Since the bottom retainer was removed for imaging, I requested that a new bar be put back in. I was notified that it would cost roughly $400 for the bottom retainer (that they removed without informing me of the cost of reinserting) and $1000 for records fees. I would be required to pay $1400 to for this practice to fix what they had done. After several weeks of back and forth with Burk & Flinn, they agreed to insert the permanent bottom retainer for $200. I agreed and paid the $200. 2 months later, while flossing my teeth, the retainer glue pops off my teeth. I am unsure how permanent retainer glue can become detached from the tooth (I had my previous bottom retainer for 15 years with no issues) so soon after application and hoped that Burk & Flinn would help me to resolve this. I had a consultation with Dr. Burk that same day. Dr. Burk (without so much as a hello) looks in my mouth at the broken retainer and says "So what's wrong with it?" When I explained that it popped off while flossing that morning Dr. Burke replies, "I'm not going to keep treating you for free or with a discount." Never before have I asked ANY healthcare professional for free or discounted treatment (I work in healthcare myself!). I simply wanted the practice to fix what they had previously done without informing me of the upfront costs. Dr. Burk explained, "Well that's healthcare. Go anywhere. They will do things all the time without you knowing and you're responsible to fix it." I told him that I had my previous retainer for 15 years with no issues and this retainer came off after 2 months while flossing. Dr. Burk told me, "It's science. Look it up. Read the literature. These things can last 2 months or 2 years. There's no telling how long it will last." I am not one to argue. It is clear to me that this doctor simply failed to be honest, upfront, willing to educate, provide quality and LASTING work, and has resorted to blaming patients for poor treatment and services provided in his office. Dr. Burk is arrogant, unempathetic, dishonest and blatantly rude. The website claims, "He strives to provide excellent customer service and wants all his patients to feel truly cared for while having a fun experience. He considers his patients to be family and provides only the best care available. He would not want anything less for himself." Considering I left his practice shaking, nearly in tears, embarrassed and belittled in front of his staff- this statement is a lie. It is my hope that no one else feels this way after treatment with Dr. Burk. Consider a different orthodontist.

Never have I written a review, but she won me over when she called my cell phone at 6:50pm just to check on my son and see how he was feeling. At first I thought it was Dr Flinns winning personality, but she gets 100 gold stars for the call tonight. I would highly recommend them.
