Horrible service! Glad they mixed me up with someone and never showed up! The salesman came out and gave his pitch and quote and I thought it was reasonable. I was recommended by neighbors to Culligan. He gave me the quote on paper and took my card number to "hold" my spot. I texted him 2 weeks out to ask about the permit and he told me it was already pulled and the city would call me after installation. Day of install they never showed up so I called. He finally called back later that afternoon and said he had mixed me up with another customer and that he would "handle it personally".... He was always the only one involved! Lol! He didn't even know what I was having installed. He had zero idea what was going on. I'm done! I've already moved on to someone else. What if I had taken a day off work? I would be out $. We contacted Culligan to come and put a water softener system into our home. Initially, the salesman indicated this will be a harder job as they had to run piping across the downstairs to the only drain in the house. The salesman had an installer come and look at the job and he said he could it with the understanding that they would have to put a ton of piping up across the ceiling. The installer also said he would get white pipes instead of blue, which is what they typically do. Install date was scheduled for 5/15. The workers showed up and complained the entire time about the difficulty of the job. It's important to note that at no time did they tell us they'd be cutting a HUGE hole in the wall, literally right above the access door to the main water system. The installers also moved all of the furniture in that room and didn't even offer to move it back. We have been trying to get ahold of a single manager since then and not a single person, including our salesman, has made it a priority to get back to us. The install manager is supposedly coming out tomorrow finally, but this took repeated calls on our end. Billing, of course, had no issue contacting us looking for payment. Super disappointed with the customer service and the installation process. I would recommend going anywhere else other than with Culligan if you value those things from a company. read more

I am happy to revise this review - the actual plumber came today & did the work the right way! Very grateful to not have to look at that blue tubing! I have been the highly unfortunate recipient of work done by this company. My apartment is downstairs & is the easiest conduit to the water source in the front of the house we bought this year, which will lead to drainage out of the back of the house. Wanted a water softener. Always had. We knew it was difficult, that going into it was not easy, not cheap & we were completely willing to cover the cost. We knew, we said yes when they said they could do it, accepted the price tag, we still wanted it. All good, until it wasn't. Living in Waldwick for a very long time left us aware of the damages hard water does. They came, they inspected, said it could be done, and to our specs - which included hiding the 'white tubing' we were told would be used, thru the wall, thru the ceiling, out thru the nearby closet (lost a lot of space i was willing to give up for the softener system) that could accommodate the tank & hardware. In other words - 'we can do it & will hide it too'. Well, nope. Guy (who could have used a prior shower - maybe just too stressed by the job? Left a funk behind) doing the job had a convo with another worker who told him that he could refuse to do a job if he felt it couldn't be done. Nothing but complaining & lots of drilling & hole-cutting. I heard all this while i was sitting in my living room, 15ft away, i think they forgot i was there. I was left a huge hole in the wall that could have been avoided by doing what had been discussed, going thru the wall & ceiling, and no attempt made to provide a hatch for that giant hole since the guy made everything protrude out of that giant hole. Blue tubing, sheesh. Guy told my sil they don't make white tubing anymore? They do, other more apologetic guy told us - just have to order it! And the guy overshot his right angle, forcing him to double back? Never heard of 'measure twice, cut once'? Unprofessional at best, shitty attitude at worst. Bad job, took over a month to get them even to respond. My hopes to fix the g-awful offense i need to look at every day? I dunno. Had a video of what we were left to look at but can't upload it. Just glad that guy did not ask me to sign off on that mess! He just booked! Oh yeah - took over a month to get ANY kind of response. MULTIPLE MESSAGES DAILY. Like all those multiple emails somehow never reached the person who could actually do something about this disaster. Let me not forget that a resonse was only provided when their repeated requests for payment were met with 'as soon as you fix what you did, you will get paid'. This Culligan is the worst, likely in the country. Having been a Culligan customer in other states, I can explain why and would recommend you take your business elsewhere. This has been now 2 months since i reached out to Culligan for a quote and installing a system. 1. The rep (Bill) made it extremely difficult to schedule a call, same for the visit. It's 2024 - scheduling should take 5 min (it does with Culligan in most states). 2. On-site review was a total mess, the rep was horrendous and promised a details water results with a quote - never received it. 3. I followed up more than I can count by phone, email etc. etc. After 8 weeks, no update, no offer, no quote. This is a simple-job. Here is my recommendation: - Business that do not care about even doing the basics of the job should go out of business. - I am sure the founder who passed away would be horrified if he saw the way customers are treated in this new era. What kind of a business cannot do the most simple tasks (scheduling, quoting etc.). If they cannot even do the basics, do you think they will do the plumbing, the filtration and servicing correctly? Look at the other reviews, they are horrendous for a reason. You have been warned - take your business someplace else. read more

I had a water system installed, including both a soft water system and reverse osmosis (RO) system. The company sent two young installers, both 19 and 21 years old, who seemed inexperienced and didn't know what they were doing. When they came to install the system, they shut off the water to the entire house for 6-8 hours, leaving us without water. They also left the job unfinished when their shift ended, and to make matters worse, a pipe burst, causing a water leak in the basement. I contacted them about the issue, and their response was to call emergency help. I had to arrange for a plumber myself to fix the leak. They returned the next day to finish the installation, but now the RO system isn't producing any filtered water. When I contacted the service department, they told me the earliest they could send someone out is in eight days. Overall, the service has been incredibly frustrating, and I would strongly advise avoiding this company due to their poor customer service and lack of accountability. read more

BUYERS BEWARE. These guys don't care about your business once their low quality system is installed in your house. We've been dealing with poor tasting water from their system for over 6 months and 4 visits by their "senior" techs, all to be told it's supposed to taste that way. Folks, no it's not - It's supposed to taste like mineral water, even better, and you're supposed to treat customers like you value them. My wife and I have a newborn baby so we couldn't take any risks. We ended up gutting all their equipment from my house and installed a system from a company called Pur2O and it is night and day. The best tasting water we've ever had is in our house now. Don't be fooled by these scam artists at Culligan, they don't deserve your business. Good luck everybody! read more

We had a really good experience with Culligan recently when we put in a water softener system for our house, as well as a filtration system for the drinking water in the kitchen. From start to finish the whole experience was a good one. This is because the guys from Culligan were always on time and they did exactly what they said they would do. Our water quality has improved dramatically as a result so we no longer struggle with things like water stains when it comes to cleaning. Also, appliances like kettles and the dishwasher seem to perform better. I'm glad that we took this project on because it turns out to have been a good decision. read more

Brian made sure the right system was proposed and installed quickly with excellent workmanship. Our home had an older system, well outdated and with the newest Gold Series, it was a true upgrade. Not only was the installation clean, but Brian also advised on a much better location for the system which saved us space as well. One key factor in considering the provider, in this case, is locality, as well as the vested interest the company has as a family-owned one. The previous provider never called me back for service, a bad decision for them, but I could not be more pleased. Ive been using this company for over 10 years. Recently we had a flood from a water softener that did damage to my finished basement the cost me $2500. This was the third time this unit had leaked. The first two times the company was willing to compensate with a few months free rent off the unit which was being rented because the damage was minor . However this third time was just too much, and we decided to have it removed. The servicemen they sent over wasn't the brightest in the bunch. He complained that the line was covered up by my ceiling. The unit was installed prior to my basement being finished. He had no solution as to how to reroute the unit. Ive since contacted Culligan on numerous occasions as to what they plan on doing about the damage. I was told the owners are aware , but after three weeks , I have yet to have them reach out to me. Im going to have to take them to small claims because I guess my 10 years of being a customer means nothing . I spoke to a man name Ron today, and in not to many words I was lead to believe nothing was probably going to happen based on our conversation. I strongly suggest you go with another water softener company. This one uses outdated equipment and sub par plumbers. As for their management, all they do is make excuses and do not care about customer service. Had a great experience installing a water softener system in our home using Culligan. Installers knew the product and even came back to my house with no problems a few weeks after I didn't pay enough attention to their directions and had questions. In the end the money I save On the dishwasher cleaner, hard water cleaners, etc make this a great long term investment in our home. I was also pretty blown away the difference in quality from my old water softener which apparently was extremely ineffective. read more

We have ok water but my wife and I wanted to ensure our water was safe and healthy. You hear stories of lead, boil water alerts, chlorine, etc and we wanted protection from anything bad without lots of maintenance. We decided to go with the Culligan Aqua Cleer Reverse Osmosis unit and LOVE it! We have the peace of mind knowing if bad water comes in from the town we are protected (water quality varies, which we didn't realize). The pricing is very reasonable and the service is prompt. The office staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and seem like they enjoy their work. We have been a customer for several years and will be looking for a water softener from them too.
