Came by this morning for a quick repair (new button to be sewed on to secure a dress strap), and overall had a good experience, but it was quite a lengthy start. I'm not sure why, but the lady who assisted me at the counter was asking for so much of my personal information (name, address, phone number...). I guess it makes sense if someone is dropping off several garments for repair or cleaning...but I just needed one button to be sewn onto a dress, a task that would take less than a minute for even the most beginner tailor... After about 20 minutes of giving all this unnecessary info, the computer shutting down, and sharing all this info again, I was told I would have to wait a week before I could get my dress back. What??? I emphasized again that my ask was as small as could be---should a button repair really take a week? All it took was for the counter-lady to take it to the back and have the tailor fix it up then-and-there. Cost me about $1.50. That's all I wanted and needed, and that's what I got...even if I had to waste 20 minutes in the beginning. read more

Turn around time is atrocious. Don't expect next day dry clean. Typical times are 5-8 business days out. Not only that, they're overpriced and will deny if they are at fault for ruining your clothes. read more

this was such a terrible experience. I called around to several dry cleaners to see if anywhere could clean my wedding dress before my upcoming wedding. Culpepper's said they can clean and press it in 7 days. I had called the one on Callaghan. I realized the one on Broadway was closer so I called there and was told the same. so I went in and dropped my dress off. the woman I dropped it with confirmed, 7 days to clean and press it. I was so excited to get it back 7 days later I went in the next Monday to find they were closed for Labor day. so I called the next day, now on day 8 and was told my dress would not be back for over a month. I said that cans be. after several calls and spending a good portion of my day on the phone with them they tell me they will get it back by Thursday or Friday. So now at 330 on Friday it's finally ready and they tell me it's $243 for the cleaning and pressing. that is an INSANE charge for them to be delayed 5 days past the 7 they told me it would be. No preservation no special alterations or anything. I'm just floored at how terrible the customer service was every time I called and I still don't know why it took so much longer than they told me or why it's so expensive. read more

Beware - if you care about your fine clothes because Culpepper Cleaners is hit or miss.... and when they miss they miss BIG. Dress pants creased randomly, textured fabrics flattened (Armani) and colors faded (Prada). As proof... I've been coming here for about 3 years now and never really had a problem. I've noticed lately that some of the staff has changed and the quality has been disappointing. My most recent encounter was with the manager who gave me the wrong clothes. I tried to explain that this wasn't the first incident but she kept cutting me off explaining nothing is guaranteed. That was a turn off of the attitude a manager giving a loyal customer. I simply wanted to make sure this doesn't happen throughout the whole store because even though she doesn't make the error that no one else does. If you can't at least guarantee an exceptional service then this store has fell short of quality. I've gotten several pieces back that weren't mine and had missing pieces disappear. I wish there would be a more optimistic attitude in this store. In another incident I was told by an employee that same day service doesn't always mean "same day". I asked another employee if that was true and he replied that it wasn't. This mislead of wrong information has strayed me even further doing business with them. read more

Charged me more than they said they would when I came to pick my clothes up. Charged all sorts of extras for materials such - Rayon? - that they did not alert me of when I dropped the dresses off. I asked specifically that one dress not be charged extra and that I be called if it requires special care and it was charged extra and I wasn't called. No other dry cleaner in the country does this - and I travel the country almost all year. I should also mention that when I said that it's improper for any service to be charged out at more than it was represented when someone drops off their belongings, the manager said "that's just the way things work." Wow. Maybe in other countries. I believe there are several regulations preventing that here. read more

Culpepper does a great job. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they're my choice to take care of nicer garments. My one issue with them is that they occasionally press my dress shirts with odd creases near the buttons, making the shirts look funny when worn. Overall, I would recommend them. read more

Bad business! I have been using Culpepper service for a few years and my recent picked up would be the last time. I dropped of my my expensive satin and silk shells. Everything was checked by one of the employees. Note: Usually they put a blue label indicating if there was an issue with the garment. I was stunned when I picked up my shells because I saw very noticeable snags and holes everywhere on my shells. One of the workers there called Terri, the owner who ended up blaming and insulted me with all her words and actions in front of everybody on the floor. She has no idea that I am a number 1 Personal Shopper in Texas for the brand and I gave her tons of business, especially to my clients who live in Alamo Heights area. I will never recommend Culpepper anymore and I will make sure my clients go to their competitors. read more

Top notch service and care. I have to say they can work a miracle if needed. I had a blouse ruined. Well okay I ruined it. My pricey silk blouse ruined by red wine on its first outing. Another dry cleaners tried and sent it back with a note, "permanent stain". I took it to Culpeppers, like magic, as if it had never happened. They didn't make a big deal out of it at checkin like the other place. I have not used another dry cleaner since. Plus the team is large so there is always someone available to check your dry cleaning in or out. They have been in business for years. The great customer service and quality of work is why. Unsolicited Advice: If you can't afford to take all of your clothing Culpeppers, it can get pricey, then reserve your favorites and most expensive pieces for cleaning there. Cheers! read more

Culpeppers is pricey like everyone says, but I say they are the best. I've been going to Culpeppers my whole life, and I trust them with my precious items - they even cleaned and preserved my wedding dress. I know a couple employees by name and they always greet me when I enter. Also when I was under the gun to get my bridesmaids dresses pressed they made sure they were pressed and back in time for me. Regular customer for 12 years. All the Staff knows my name and some even know my account number by memory. Always friendly and professional. There is very little employee turnover in 12 years and they all seem very happy working there which is uncommon these days with most service businesses so it's a real pleasure doing business there. read more

The staff was nice and my clothes were clean and ready when they told me the clothes would be ready.

This was the first time I ever had my clothes dry cleaned so I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know how I wanted them starched so she said they would follow the care instructions. I had twelve pieces, including two pants with rips in them and they repaired them beautifully. One of my shirts had the worst stains on it, and had been in my closet that way for years. She made it clear she didn't think the stains were coming out, but I told her that was ok. Everything came back looking brand new, it was like I just came home from the mall. I'll definitely go back to Culpepper Cleaners the next time I need dry cleaning or repairs. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have used Culpepper Cleaners for quite awhile and had always been thrilled with their service and quality. However, I recently had an issue with some miscommunication on their part. I was contacted by the owner, Terri Culpepper, and all she did was blame me repeatedly for the issue. I was not asking for anything when I spoke with her, I simply wanted to let her know that my recent experience with them was sub-par. She continued to blame me and interrupt me when I was trying to express my side of the story to tell me that I "just wouldn't accept that I was wrong and it was a consumer issue." The conversation ended with me telling her that I had been happy up until this point but didn't feel as if they cared to keep me as a customer, so I would be looking for another dry cleaner. Went to Culpepper after another cleaners ripped my shirts, was willing to pay 75 cents more per shirt for the extra care of shirts, 1st time took 4 shirts they took 3 days to get them back, but had 15 people working in store, 2nd time 5 shirts, when picked up 1 shirt was burnt on the collar, they did not tell me, found out when I went to wear it, they did redo it, 3rd time 6 shirts, when picked up was told 1 shirt did not make it, that it would be here the next day, went to pick up, it was not there, was told same thing for the next 3 days, shirt has been there 8 days now with no explanation, I asked to have owner call me, Jess Culpepper called and from the beginning was indignant and arrogant never apologized for not informing me of the situation or ripping my shirt, and basically tried to blame the shirt and stated "We rip 4 or 5 shirts a week" I replied I wouldn't tell anyone that. I wanted to come pick my shirt up and he refused to get it to me and then told me "To find another cleaners" and hung up on me. Next morning I called to say I would be in at 1:30pm to pick up shirt, manager Art, stated he would call me back, he did and stated that Jess Culpepper said no that it was not ready and would be another 2 days, I demanded the return of my shirt, I then had to call the Police to get my shirt returned to me. This is an over priced, poor customer service with an arrogant owner business. Beware read more
