We have been in Lincoln for four days and yet to find a place that served espresso drinks the way I wanted them. And that had a good flavor of coffee. I tried The Mill, it was tolerable. I tried Meadowlark coffee too. It was tolerable, but not good. Being from Kansas City, I did not realize how fortunate I am to have several spots with their own blend of beans, and freshly air roasted beans while you wait. But I'm so glad we stayed an extra day because we came across Cultiva Coffee. It was about 10 minutes from our hotel and it was so worth it. They also had a seasonal crêpe that had strawberries and chocolate ganache. It was so good. No, it was excellent. My husband and I almost fought over the last bite. But we were certainly measuring up the size of the bites. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lol the atmosphere was so cute and original. I absolutely loved it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took a minute to tell them how much I appreciated them before I left, but I'm also telling you now. In addition to the Coffee, I appreciated the Service. When I ordered, the young lady never made me feel like I needed to hurry with what I was gonna say or that I wanted too many details. I appreciate this as an older person. I get tired of the impatience of young people these days and she was very kind. And the person who made the drink, made it perfectly to my liking. Not too hot to where I had to wait to drink it, but not just warm like it had been cooling off. I admit, I am very critical when it comes to my cappuccino. That's why I make it at home most the time so I can have it the way I want it. So a place that checked all the boxes is rare to me. Cultiva coffee is my new favorite coffee and breakfast place in Lincoln! Omg. The coffee quality is so good. I immediately knew after taking my first sip. I told the barista how I like my coffee, which is strong, iced and sweet. I also told her I was debating between the dirty Barcelona and iced Cuban. She recommended the dirty Barcelona and it did not disappoint. However I will say it was a little too sweet for me. I'll have to try the iced Cuban next time. Nonetheless, the coffee was absolutely delicious. I finished it quickly. In addition to the amazing coffee here, I trulyenjoyed their food!! They specialize in crepes, savory and sweet, omelettes, and pancakes! Don't sleep on their food y'all. I ended up ordering a build -your-own meal which consisted of a bagel, eggs, cream cheese, and three sides; salsa, chipotle mayo and sausage. Let's just say I ate and left no crumbs. I probably have an unpopular opinion here, but I don't find the coffees and breakfast any good. The service is not great. The iced coffees and cold brews are basically half simple syrup half coffee. There's really no need to dump so much suger to the specialty coffees. The breakfast omelettes and crepes are usually greasy with no interesting falvors or sauces. It's kind of like having a diner breakfast. I'd expect more modern or playful twist on the foods just like how modern and cool the ambience is. The food service is super slow because of the small kitchen and high demands. I've seen unfriendly staff especially at the east campus location. The beans remind me of George Howell's roasts back in the day -- all roasted to some grade of medium to almost light depending on the beans (which they source with serious expertise from the best estates in the world). If you are a crazed coffee snob, this is the only place in town. Their shots and pourovers are perfect (they do the usual things as well). Oh my my, where do I even begin with this place. My wife use to come here all the time she said when she was going to school in Nebraska and she said that I had to try it. When I took a sip of the Barcelona, it was heaven in my mouth. Every sip was full of salty and sweet flavor. They make the whipped cream icing in house and I am not sure what's in it. The crepe was also top notch in my opinion, the pesto in the crepe compliments the eggs and the ham with every bite.I enjoyed the food so much that we actually ate here twice in the 3 days we were in Lincoln. We stopped in here for breakfast on our way out of Lincoln. What a great choice! The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. My dad ordered a mocha with cayenne pepper and I ordered a iced latte with oat milk. Both coffees were delicious and the espresso was strong. We ordered using the Build Your Own menu and got two bagel sandwiches. They were HUGE! Both sides of the bagel sandwich were loaded with what we ordered and were both freshly made. I got a plain bagel with scrambled egg, sautéed spinach, chipotle crema (vegan), and bacon. My dad got an everything bagel with scrambled egg, sharp cheddar, and andouille sausage. These were some of the best bagel sandwiches I've had. The bagels were fresh, warm, and extremely tender. The ingredients for both were made fresh, hot, and were delicious. It's a cute place and although it was busy, service was relatively fast and friendly. We ordered the Brekkie Bowl, the Princess Crepe, and The Big Smokey. The crepes are thicker, like a pancake texture, which I liked. We also ordered three Iced Cubanos. Even as someone who's not a big coffee drinker, I found these to be flavorful and not overpowering. The only problem is that near the end of our meal, we found a hair in the Brekkie Bowl that couldn't have belonged to any of us. Both were delicious and the cubana was perfect for me - a little sweet with good espresso and froth. The brekkie bowl has just a hint of spice to make it compelling and it was cheesy and the cool salsa gave it a nice contrast. The egg and avocado were also fresh and complimented the rest of the dish. First time here. Got the iced cubano and it is DELICIOUS - tad bit sweet, but cubanos are meant to be sweet. Strong coffee flavor and just a bit of ice. You get a lot of coffee for your buck. It seemed like everyone was ordering the iced cubano when I was in on a Saturday morning. I also got a Parisian crepe. Nothing mind blowing, but it was exactly what I asked for. The wait is not worth the quality. I keep giving this place a chance because it used to be great but the last year it has gone downhill. This time the sausage in my crepe was burnt to a crisp, and the last time my crepe was more dry than an elephants foot and was practically a tortilla chip. The neon light that has a sign "do not touch" must be for everyone including staff because that thing has months of dust on it. The line was long and the sign said about there was about a 50 minute wait for food bur we didn't mind. I ordered a cappuccino which was very good and I got it immediately. There is plenty of seating inside and outside so we didn't have to stand to wait for our food. The food is made to order, so you get it fresh so the wait is worth it!
